Just an observation. I love past episodes of the show but it's not those which will carry it into the future. It can't survive on nostalgia. It's todays and future storylines and ratings which will ensure its survival.

I said over 10 years.

I think these types of shows go on for many years. In the UK there is a show called Coronation Street that has been on air for more than 50 years now. And in America there was one for more than 40 years (ended last year) I think soaps have a long life in them. In saying that, the cast will probably be entirely different in 10 years with characters come in and establishing themselves over the next 10 years. Regardless of this, the show will still get it's viewers.
