PART 12 “Morning.” Kate frowns, looking around her confusedly for a few seconds. “Oh. Morning.” Bobby sits down next to her, handing her a cup of coffee. “How are you feeling?” She smiles bravely. “I’m okay…” “Let me just take another look at those bruises and then we should try and get to the set as soon as possible. Unless you want to go home to…” “No! I really don’t want to go back there.” “Okay…” She places the coffee on the table next to her, helping him to pull her top over her head again. “It looks bad, Kate… worse than yesterday. Are you sure you don’t want to go to the doctor?” “Yes… I can’t really handle any questions right now, Bobby.” He sighs, rubbing some cream on the bruises as softly as possible. “You’re not going back to him, are you?” Kate sighs. “I don’t know.” “Kate!” “Look, Bobby… It’s not as simple as you think.” “He hit you, Kate! That’s pretty simple to me. You can’t go back to him.” Kate grabs her shirt, pulling it over her head. “Can we just go now please?” Paul looks at Sharni with a frown. “Are you sure I can’t give you a lift to the studio?” Sharni nods. “Yeah… Indi and I have an appointment, we’ve already told Cameron. Look, I’ll see you there okay?” He nods and she stands on her toes to kiss him. “See you in a bit.” “Okay. Be good.” He hugs her closely before walking off and Sharni waits until his car is around the corner before picking up her phone and dialling Indiana’s number. “Indi… It’s Sharni. Can I come pick you up?” “I don’t think she’s here yet…” Jodi looks at Jon with a frown. “Do you think we should go to her house?” “I don’t know, Jodz… give her a few minutes.” The couple look up when Bobby sits down next to them with a frown and Jodi looks at him. “Bobby? What’s wrong?” He sighs and shakes his head. “Oh… it’s just… it’s nothing.” “You sure?” “Yeah…” Jodi nods distractedly and looks back at Jon. “I tried to call her about ten times already!” Jon cups Jodi’s face with his hands. “Jodz… Kate’s a big girl, okay? She’ll be here.” Bobby looks at them silently. “She’s in her dressing room.” Jodi lifts a brow, looking at him curiously. “How do you know?” Bobby sighs and bites his lip. “She spent the night at my house…” “What?” Bobby nods, lowering his tone. “Look, Kate doesn’t want me to tell anyone… but her new boyfriend… he hit her. He messed her up real bad…” Jodi, Jon and Bobby all look up when they hear and angry voice a few steps away from them. “Darin hit Kate?” “Cassidy, are you ready yet? I’m going to be late!” Cassidy sighs, quickly taking a last bite of food. “Miss Lizzy said that she can’t understand why you can just explain to work that you have a kid to drop off at school, because you’ve left me there for anyone to take and it’s pathetic.” Chris looks at his daughter angrily. “Did she actually say that to you?” “Well no… she said it to Mrs. Smith, but I heard her.” Chris shakes his head. “Tell your Miss Lizzy that she needs to get her own life and stay out of mine!” “Miss Lizzy said that it is her business because she can’t just watch how an innocent girl is neglected by her wimp of a father. She said that after Mrs. Smith suggested that she should mind her own business.” Chris takes a deep breath, closing his eyes. “I think I should have a talk with this Miss Lizzy.” Cassidy shakes her head. “I don’t think that’s such a good idea.” “Oh yeah?
