FLETCHER HOUSE RIC: I can't breathe... PETER: I suggest you open your mouth, inhale and exhale, mate. RIC: Is it normal to be this nervous? PETER: I'm sure it is! Sally comes rushing in, dressed in a gorgeous red dress, her hair curled. SALLY: Ric, have you got the rings? RIC: Pete, have you got the rings? PETER: I thought Lucas had the rings? RIC: I'm phoning him now! Ric picks up his cell phone. Rocco comes out of the kitchen with a small bag. ROCCO: Why were the rings in the fridge? RIC: The rings were in the fridge? ROCCO: Next to the milk. RIC: Who would put the rings in the fridge? SALLY: Don't look at me! Cassie comes in, also dressed in red. CASSIE: Sal, my zipper is stuck, help! Sally helps Cassie with the zipper. ROCCO: You look great, Cas! CASSIE: Thanks! She kisses him and runs up again. RIC: This is a nightmare... It's going to be a disaster, I just know it... SALLY: Ric, calm down! My wedding was a disaster, yours can't be worse, believe me. She looks at her watch and Peter frowns. PETER: Going somewhere? SALLY: Yeah, Jack asked if I could pick him up from the hospital. PETER: Is it wise for him to come? SALLY: Mattie is like a sister to him, we can't keep him away. Peter walks up the stairs and Sally frowns. SALLY: All right, guys, I'll be right back! She leaves. Ric closes his eyes. RIC: I need a drink. CASSIE: No way! You're not getting a drink, Mattie will kill you. RIC: Guys... do you think we're doing the right thing? ROCCO: Now is an awful time to ask that question. Cassie slaps him and looks at Ric. CASSIE: Yes! You're doing the right thing. Now... just take a deep breath... and think about how in a short while you and Matilda will be husband and wife. THE HOSPITAL Sally rushes into Jack's room. He is already dressed. SALLY: Hey! JACK: You look... stunning. SALLY: Oh... thanks. You ready to go? JACK: Yeah, sure. He slowly stands up and his legs fold so he falls down on the bed again. Sally rushes to him, looking worried. SALLY: Are you okay? JACK: Yeah... I just got up too fast... SALLY: Let me help... She puts her arms around him to help him up and he puts his arms around her shoulders. They slowly walk out. Jack is smiling. FLETCHER HOUSE - Ric and Matilda's room. Cassie is helping Matilda to put the veil on. MATILDA: Can you see that I'm... CASSIE: No, not at all. MATILDA: Are you sure? CASSIE: Yes. You look beautiful, Mattie. MATILDA: Thanks. They hug. MATILDA: Where are Sal and Tash? CASSIE: Tash just arrived and Sally is at the hospital. MATILDA: What? CASSIE: She just went to pick up Jack, we'll all be here, don't worry. MATILDA: Thanks, Cas. Matilda smiles and touches her hair. MATILDA: So do I really look good? CASSIE: You look amazing. I promise. DOWNSTAIRS. The doorbell rings. Peter stands up to open it. It is Leah and Dan. LEAH: Hey guys! Where's the bride? RIC: She's still upstairs getting ready. I'm so nervous. I'm shaking... DAN: Relax, mate. You'll be fine. Come with me, we can take a walk to clear your head. Ric nods and stands up to walk with Dan. Leah looks at Peter, frowing. LEAH: Where's everybody else? PETER: Cassie is with Matilda and Rocco is with Pippa. Tasha and Robbie took Ella up. LEAH: And Sally? PETER: Where she always is. With Jack. Leah sits down next to him. LEAH: You don't look very happy with it. PETER: I can't take it anymore, Leah! Jack just makes a sound and Sal jumps! She's with him every second of the day - I barely get to see her! LEAH: Well have you talked to her about it? PETER: I tried. She just said that Jack has been through a lot and he needs a friend now. But why does she have to be that friend? What about Martha or Tony or Lucas? Why Sal? LEAH: Look, just give it time.
