SALLY: Hey Jack... JACK: Go away. SALLY: Jack, I know this is hard for you. But you might want to talk to someone who understands what you're going through. JACK: No one understands what I'm going through. SALLY: Well that's rich, considering I lost my husband. JACK: That's different. SALLY: Is it? I loved Flynn just as much as you loved Lara. JACK: And yet you're with Peter now. She looks at him in shock and then sighs and sits down next to him. SALLY: Yes. I moved on. But that doesn't mean I love him less. I do love Peter with everything I am, but I will always treasure Flynn's memory. Jack finally opens and looks at Sally. JACK: Does it ever go away? SALLY: What? JACK: The hurt. The anger. The guilt. SALLY: Guilt? JACK: I was driving, Sally. I should have done something to avoid it. SALLY: You couldn't. Don't blame yourself for this, Jack. JACK: It's hard not to. I'm just so... angry. At myself for driving the car. At Fitzy for dying. At God for letting her die... SALLY: Yes, it's normal. I was angry too. At everyone. I pushed people away... but you have to accept what happened. Find closure. JACK: How? SALLY: No one can tell you how. It's something you have to sort out with yourself. He takes her hand and squeezes it. They look at each other for a long time. JACK: I'm just so scared... that I'll forget her completely. Like she never existed. SALLY: You never will. Trust me. You'll just... think of her without the tears later. You'll remember what was good. JACK: Martha told me that she still loves me. SALLY: And how did you feel about that? JACK: Angry. I mean... just after hearing about Lara, she dumps that on me. SALLY: Yes, her timing wasn't perfect. But she was scared for you Jack. She was afraid of losing you. JACK: But she already did. SALLY: Give yourself time. Don't think about anything else now. Just focus on getting your life back on track. JACK: Thanks, Sal. I hope Pete knows what he's got in you. SALLY: Thanks. I hope so too. She smiles at him and leaves. Jack looks at the ceiling again and starts crying. IRENE'S HOUSE Ella is asleep in her cot. Robbie is sitting on a chair next to her, looking at her. ROBBIE: I wonder what your future is going to be like. Who will keep away all the guys from you now? He touches her cheek and sighs. I'm sorry, Ella. I failed you and Tash. TASHA: You didn't fail me, Rob. He looks behind him. Tasha is standing in the door. ROBBIE: Tash... TASHA: You didn't fail me. You didn't make yourself sick. ROBBIE: But I... TASHA: Stop thinking it. I love you, Robbie. I'll never stop loving you. He stands up and they hug. AT THE DINER. Irene, Leah and Martha are standing at the counter. They look rather depressed. IRENE: Poor Tash and Rob. This is not fair on them. MARTHA: Yeah, after all they've been through, they deserve to be happy. LEAH: I can't believe it. Robbie of all people. Why? What will Tasha do without him? IRENE: Oh, love. She's a strong girl. She's got all of us - she'll get through this. MARTHA: Yes, she will. He won't. FLETCHER HOUSE Mattie, Ric, Cassie and Rocco are sitting at the kitchen table. MATTIE: I don't know about a dress... maybe we should just make this small and informal. RIC: No way, you are only getting married once and we'll do it the right way! MATTIE: Fine. I like this one. She shows them a picture and Cassie nods. CASSIE: Yeah, that's nice! There is a knock on the door. Cassie gets up to answer it. CASSIE: Robbie! What are you doing here? ROBBIE: Hey guys... mind if I borrow my sister for a while? RIC: Not at all, she's driving us crazy. Mattie slaps Ric and walks to Robbie. MATTIE: What's up? That is so sad I really liked the scene between Jack and Sally in the hospital. I think she really helped him, hopefully in time he will realise that he can move on and will end up back with Martha. Poor Jack I hope he can see a way forward. This is a great fic with so many twists. I cant wait to see what Macca is up to, I really hope he doesnt come between Cass and Rocco cause I really like them as a couple. Hope you can update soon.
