ON THE BEACH Tasha and Martha are sitting next to each other. MARTHA: I know I was rash. I should have waited before telling him. But the look on his face... Tash, it was horrible. TASHA: Oh, Mac... I'm so sorry. MARTHA: Hey, it's okay. So what brings you and Rob back to the bay? Are you back for good? TASHA; Yeah. We're back for good. Robbie needs to be close to his family now. MARTHA: What do you mean? Tash, what's wrong? Tasha looks out in front of her, trying her best to hold back her tears. TASHA: It's Robbie, Mac. He's got cancer. Rob is dying. IN HOSPITAL Jack is lying on the hospital bed, staring at the ceiling. Lucas and Belle come in. Jack looks at them for a second and then continues staring at the ceiling. BELLE: Hey Jack. How are you feeling? JACK: Rotten. Belle looks at Lucas and he shakes his head. LUCAS; Jack, I know it's not easy. But you'll get through this. Everything is going to be okay. JACK: What do you know? The woman I love is dead, Lucas! You have no idea how that feels! Because from what I see, Belle is still alive so unless that's her ghost, I do not want any of this everything will be okay crap! Fitzy is dead and nothing will bring her back. So everything is NOT going to be okay! Just leave me alone now! Lucas bites his lip, takes Belle's hand and they leave. IRENE'S HOUSE Robbie is lying on the couch with Ella against his chest. Irene is sitting next to him on a chair. IRENE: Can I get you anything, Rob? ROBBIE: No thanks. I'm fine. IRENE: Well just tell me if you need anything. ROBBIE: I'm not an invalid. Yet. IRENE: Oh, Rob... ROBBIE: No, I'm fine. I just... I don't know how to tell Mattie. She's been through so much with mum dying and being pregnant... and now this. I'm supposed to be her big brother, Irene. I'm not supposed to be a weakling. IRENE: You're no weakling, Robbie! ROBBIE: Please, I'm dying. What could be weaker than that? He kisses Ella and looks at her with tears in his eyes. ROBBIE: How am I supposed to say goodbye to Tash and Ella? I've always dreamt of Ella growing up. Getting married... Now it'll never happen. FLETCHER HOUSE Peter and Sally are sitting on the couch holding hands. SALLY: I just don't know if they're ready, Peter. What if they are making a mistake? PETER: Sal, I know they're young. But they want to make this work more than anything and you have to trust that they will succeed. SALLY: What if they don't? PETER: Then we'll be there to support them. They kiss and there is a knock on the door. Sally stands up to open the door for Lucas and Belle. SALLY: Hey guys... Ric, Mattie, Cas and Rocco are at the diner if... LUCAS: We actually wanted to talk to you. SALLY: Oh... okay... LUCAS; Yeah, could I talk to you alone please, Sal? SALLY: Sure. Come with me. Belle, Peter is in here if you want some company. BELLE: Thanks. She walks in and sits down opposite Peter. Sally and Lucas walk to the porch. BELLE: So where's Drew? I haven't seen him around in ages. PETER: At a friend in the city. He'll be back next week. BELLE: I see. ON THE PORCH. SALLY: And you want me to talk to him? LUCAS: Please. I just figured... you lost your husband, so you know what it feels like. SALLY: I'll try my best. But I don't know whether he's going to listen to me. LUCAS: Why is that? SALLY: Losing someone that close to you... it's the hardest thing you can imagine, Lucas. You just want to grieve, you know. You start pushing everyone away. Without even realizing that you're doing it. IRENE'S Robbie is sitting with Ella on his lap. Martha and Tasha come in. TASHA: Hey, Rob. Should I take her? I guess you want to lie down for a while. ROBBIE: Stop fussing! I'm fine! TASHA: Robbie, I was just trying to help. ROBBIE: Sighs I know. I'm sorry, Tash. It's just... I don't want Ella to be away from me for a second. Hi Martha. MARTHA: Hey Rob. ROBBIE; Well are you going to give me a hug or not? I'm not breakable, you know. MARTHA: Of course... Sorry. ROBBIE: Don't be! Laugh. Martha hugs him and he smiles at her. ROBBIE: Isn't Ella getting big? MARTHA: Yes. She is. ROBBIE: She's daddy's big girl! Yes! Tasha turns around and runs out of the house. Martha wants to go after her but then looks at Robbie with a frown. MARTHA: Should I...? ROBBIE: No. She wants to be alone for a while.
