    Thanks Zetti

So Zetti, explain to an aging person: does this mean we will be getting 9 more episodes in Britain starting on April 19th? I am rapidly declining into senility, I got my first pair of reading glasses yesterday
  3. Ah, the Reverend Johnson/ Reverend Johnson mystery continues....
  4. Has anyone mentioned Sally, or have I just not noticed? I think she is more of an icon, as we really did see her grow up from 8 or so, to 30 or so. She symbolises H&A to me, along with Alf, Leah and Pippa, also Morag. Plus 'a teen group', whichever is around at any time.

Forgot to say how funny Will and Rachel were singing 'Endless Love' the other week. His expressions as he tried to put her off were priceless! That idiot Puck, why did he throw away what Quinn was offering?
  6. I may be missing something here but the only name that is coming to mind that was on H&A, left to attempt a career in America and later returned to the show after she failed to get substantial work in the United States is Christie Hayes. There have been a lot of Aussie soapie stars who have come over to the US and never gotten any substantial work and then of course actors who have used H&A as a springboard for "C-List" success in the US but Hayes is the only one I can think of who tried her hand in the States and then returned years later to H&A. I'm talking about all soaps where actors return after no luck elsewhere, not just HAA. There was so much of it happening at one time, perhaps its died down a bit lately. It is like they are admitting defeat. Its not good to return to places hoping to regain your past successes. Move on, look for other things, life is too short.
  7. Yes, in Emily's case I am probably wrong. But the actors who have a big fanfare: I'm off to Hollywood! OR I'm off to have a singing career! Bye bye soaps! Then they never get anywhere and turn up back where they started in the same soap as the same character. Can they only play one part then? It doesn't look good on the CV.
  8. But a lot of actors leave a soap, then are never seen again until one day- surprise surprise- they turn up back in the same soap as they were in before. Hm... could they not find another job then? I think moving on to different jobs, with different characters to play, going from comedy to drama or other types- and not returning to the same show and character as before- shows more talent and ability. Perhaps I should start another thread so it doesn't look like I'm picking on poor old 'Marilyn'...
  9. It will be nice to see her back. But I always think its suspicious when an actor returns to a soap, something screams: No Career! to me. Although in this case she has been in English soaps, so I'll be more forgiving of her
  10. I like this relationship with Martha/Liam, not because its good for them cos it isn't, but it is realistic. So many relationships seems to start off as a fun thing then one realises the other is using them, or has emotional problems and it gets all messy and they end up disliking each other. I hope it continues to the bitter end and doesn't end up with them magically sorting it all out. Well done HAA writers
  11. Miles seems to have brought out the fun giggly side of Leah again. She used to be like that with Vinnie, all those years ago, but she's been so down for so long. I'm glad of that in a way, cos she did lose Dan. I hate it when soap characters lose someone, then are back to normal within a month I can't quite see Leah with Elijah yet, there needs to be more chemistry
  12. Couldn't find another Leah/ Miles, I thought there was one once.... Anyway, I really like the new relationship these two have formed. No more awkwardness, more like just good friends or brother and sister. In fact Miles seems to have become Leah's Gay Best Friend, helping her with her love life, gossiping etc. [i do know Miles isn't gay though, before people leap to correct me!]

Completely irrelevant, but I love the picture of Angelo of Emmasi's. So mean looking!
  14. I am glad to see a different character join Home and Away. I will say it aloud, I mean an ethnic character, there don't seem to have been many of them ever in the show. Not that I can remember anyway. And hopefully he will be a good representative of religion as that is lacking also. Geoff was fairly good at representing religion, but as we all know, he had his shortcomings. One odd thing: why did Elijah Johnson refer to his sick colleague as Reverend Johnson? Are they related? Do all reverends in that area have to be called Johnson?

    Glee

Yes that is the problem. I just meant that I think that's the normal way of functioning of very young men, if you see what I mean, not some major issue. How many episodes left of series one? We just saw the one about the Glee-sters selling 'cakes' to get Artie a special bus. Is series 2 going to be shown in England in April at the same time as America, or will we have to wait?

    Glee

HE thinks its a problem, I don't. It'll pass. I assumed Finn and Rachel were the hero and heroine because they were kind of 'star crossed lovers' in the first episode or two. I thought it was going to be a stereotyped plot: Boy Meets Girl But They Can't Be Together Because Of Evil Ex Girlfriend. But fortunately the other characters have been made stronger and I like them better now. I'm glad its not all about Finn and Rachel, but about all of them. I think Kurt is my favourite, his scenes with his dad are brilliant.

    Glee

Yes... I know... Finn isn't a bad lad, he just annoys me a bit. People go on and on about the 'hero' of a series and then he can't live up to the hype, its impossible to do so. I don't think he's got a 'problem' either, just inexperience.

    Glee

Oh, that is Neil Patrick Harris Yes, I think Rachel is better for Noah than Quinn. But you can't have 'Quinn and Finn', that is ridiculous
  19. Miranda

    Glee

Er.... Who is Neil Patrick Harris? I think I like Puck better than Finn now. Finn always looks gormless and I just want to shout 'Do something!' rather like I did with Geoff Campbell And of course Puck fans, don't forget his first name is... Noah Where is his Hayley?
  20. Yes, I'd like to see older characters in relationships that last, or even if they don't. All the older characters seem to be single, whereas I'd have thought at least some would have been married for a while.
  21. Sorry if there is already a thread about this, I couldn't find one. Do you think they will become a steady couple? Or split up? Do you like/ hate them? Or like one but hate the other? I can see John and Gina getting married/ staying together for a long time in the future. I think whatever Xavier thinks, John could become his step dad [and Brendan's of course]. And hopefully be a better one than he was to poor screwed up Trey. If that was the case, perhaps Trey will come back and be happier. I don't know where he went, an institution, I think. I think its good that they are making John a bit nicer and more human, rather than a big ogre hurting everyone. And I think Gina is becoming more of a Beth character rather than invisible.

I think there should have been more reaction to . No one took any notice, it would have been nice to see at least one person go I hope they remain friends, whatever he said. I saw a pleasant side to him and liked him better, he was such an idiot in the first few episodes. Finn is starting to annoy me, he's so gormless

    Glee

Glad you updated this tessalove. I have a love/hate relationship with Glee at the moment I read some spoilers today, I'm probably hopelessly out of date, but its about Kurt:
  24. Yes I thought Geoff should have had a bigger departure scene, it was like they bundled him out rudely! If Geoff didn't want a big scene, he could have said goodbye separately to the others. I've written what I thought of Geoff in the Latest UK episode thread unfortunately, didn't think of writing it here. Basically I never really liked him but thought he was a very original character, very unusual considering the other characters who were around when he first turned up i.e. 'normal' teenage lads. There will be a gap where he used to be. I don't think Lincoln was just playing himself: I got the idea that Lincoln is a bit of a womaniser type isn't he? I wouldn't say Geoff was a womaniser
  25. Miranda

    Glee

Hm, didn't like the episode Acafellas or whatever it was called. I thought Will and the group were cringe making and there was too much about his awful wife. The only good bits were when the evil cheerleaders turned against the teacher Sue and we actually found out Kurt was gay. Shock horror, I'd never have guessed!
