2002 a good year?!

I think it's very clear that the intend to pair off Marilyn with Miles. I'm not sure if I'd like that, but I think it's going to happen. I'm hoping she has some cool job in the Bay, like opens up a salon again or something. I definitely don't want her to work at the diner, cos I don't think that's glam enough for our Maz. I can't wait to see what the future holds for Marilyn! Lucky Miles to have been paired off with 2 of the most iconic characters in the history of Home and Away: Kirsty and Marilyn.

I would say 2008 was the show's second Golden Era. The whole year was brilliant due to Sally, Kane, Kirsty and Melody.

I'm guessing you come from Australia then. The UK is the largest audience share for H&A and so I think their views are more representative of the whole of Home and Away's fanbase. Although I admit some interest would be created if Angel returned, in the UK at east I'm fairly certain that Marilyn is considered more as one of the iconic characters in the show's history. I think her return is something that will create a lot of renewed interest in the show, plus Marilyn has had a long stint in the show and is synonymous with the show's history, wasn't Angel only in it for about 2 or 3 years?

Isla Fisher, Melissa George, Ryan Kwanten...just a few names that would probably be more sought-after than Emily. Are you sure you haven't just chosen those people because they're Hollywood stars now though? If they hadn't made it big, I doubt they'd be remembered any more fondly than Marilyn. And Ryan Kwanten, are you serious? Vinnie's in nowhere near the same league as Marilyn. He wasn't even there during the show's Golden Era. What do you mean? The whole point of my post was to say that we should be happy she's back. :???:

I can understand where that argument comes from, but as Dan F says, I don't think it's substantiated. If Emily hadn't returned to Australia due to the ill-health of her mother, I think it's highly likely that she would still be in England successfully working, whether it be in Emmerdale or in a variety of shows. I'm sure she'd be able to get work in Australia other than H&A, but IMO I think Emily is probably getting paid return - there are a lot of factors to consider. Marilyn is one of the most recognisable and loved faces of Home and Away's history, as such a popular character with such strong links to the past, I would assume she's on a high salary, and this gig therefore is much better for her personally. Out of ALL faces from the past, she's probably IMO the most sought-after character to return, it's atrue blessing. And I think it's wonderful that Emily's such a fantastic lady to return to the soap. Kudos to her.

Tom and Pippa really annoyed me in ep 96 when they were all like "We've always been a democratic family before, we can't change that now" Assert some authority you idiots! I was glad when they eventually changed their minds, but then they did let Nico stay after all. I'm not enjoying this storyline wth Jeff and Steven. t's not very pleasant to watch. I just can't wait until Morag arrives in a few weeks!

I always thought they instated new credits at the beginning of a production block, i.e. ep 96 onwards, 94 was a rather random choice given it's a Thursday eppy?! Pippa having a conversation with the Nutter was really good!!

Someone is selling A celeste Dodwell (Melody) fan card for $109 here How ridiculous. What makes it worse is that they're also selling Christie Hayes here for the same ridiculous amount. Isn't that the seller that was ripping people off Jamie-Lee and aussie_female?

Well done Handa! I couldn't be happier right now, just received a fan card of Lyn Collingwood (Colleen) through the post, and also Jordan Smith (Andrew Robinson) from Neighbours. Couldn't be more happy!! It's weird how they all start coming at the same time.

I would be quite worried about it getting lost in transmission though. I love those two fan cards, but I guess if they don't reach the actors I'll just get it back via RTS right? Thanks for the encouragement Jamie.

Well done Jamie! Mine was a reply from the helpdesk. I got Rachel, Tony, Irene, Geoff and Aden. The Geoff and Aden ones are blank though, i.e. they don't have pre-printed signatures. Do you think it would be a risk to write a letter to both actors enclosing a SAE with the fan card in, saying I was hoping to get an autograph? I really hope I get some more replies soon, I don't think many people like my letters
