Because I’m pretty sure that friends don’t treat each other like this”  Charlie stared at Martha in shock; she had been expecting Martha to try and come up with some lame excuse, but after hearing what Martha had said, Charlie totally understood why Martha was so judgemental and she felt nothing but sympathy for the other woman

LOVING it !!!!! ……Glad both families happy, AND it was a nice counterpoint ending the chapter about Indi. In the middle of ALL of that were some TERRIFIC moments ......  Ruby hesitated.“Sit down,”she suggested at last.Charlie took the seat opposite them and waited patiently. Ruby gripped Romeo’s hand even more tightly and he gave her a reassuring smile.She took a deep breath. “I’m pregnant.” “You’re what?”Alf demanded. Matilda sighed, glancing at Ric who gave her a supportive look.“I’m pregnant,”she repeated.  Miles asked, from where he was stood nearby, a bowl of cereal having somehow appeared in his hand during the family conversation.  “That’s one word for it,”Charlie agreed,“Did we forget the ‘Sex equals babies’ talk?”  Ruby hadn’t felt so wrong-footed in a while.“That’s it?”  Miles shook his head.“Don’t be silly, we gave him Cassie’s old room.Nicole got your room.” “That probably explains why we’re in a different room this time,”Matilda told her boyfriend.  “I am definitely going to Perth,”Miles decided,“They’re obviously putting fertility drugs in the water

VERY intriguing, mysterious opener …. With the bonus of some GREAT lines …..  .“I hate to break this to you, Mum, but Romeo and I have been living together in Perth for the past six months. Anything that we hadn’t done before we left, I think we’ve got around to it by now.”  “Come on, you must remember me, we were best friends for, like, a day.”  “Yes.Right.Your casual boyfriend of seven months.Seven months of doing things with him and only him that a brother doesn’t want to think about.Except to pick up tips.I think to all the members of the human race that aren’t Indigo and Xavier, that’s known as going steady.Or don’t they call it that anymore?”

ADORING this fic !!!!!!!!!!!…… sooo many great moments in this latest chapter .,….  “Ruby can you please just drop it!” Charlie snapped, and Ruby looked surprised; whilst Ruby had certainly yelled at Charlie quite a few times, Charlie had never lost her temper with Ruby. Charlie’s hand flew to her mouth. “I’m so sorry Ruby” Charlie apologized, and Ruby smiled to show that she was forgiven. “It’s just that...” Charlie trailed off, not wanting to get into a discussion with Ruby about why she had ended things with Brax.  “Are you serious? My brother and your mum are dating? My brother is dating a copper?” Heath snorted loudly. Ruby nodded, and Heath wiped tears of laughter away from his eyes. “Oh that’s priceless” Heath chortled.  “I’m so sorry, I’ll rephrase that shall I? Are you having copper troubles?” Heath cackled, before Brax tipped Heath off of the sofa.  Charlie sighed. “Its not that I wouldn’t be able to. It’s just that I’m new to being a mum. I’m still learning all that stuff. And I’m actually getting better at it, and I don’t want my being in a relationship to jeopardize that”  Ruby looked at Charlie in astonishment. “But you are a good mum” Ruby told Charlie, still sounding surprised

Surprised that Casey cheated on Rubes, but love that you were brave enough to go this way …… Casey and Annie were kissing passionately on the couch. Casey had his hand up Annie’s shirt.

Red Ranger 1 & ~JarlieFanEver~, there’ll DEFINITELY be a sequel …… I’ve got some pretty solid ideas about how to continue the story [provisional title of said sequel is ”Cold Summer”].….. haven’t really started the draft yet …. but I’m looking forward to returning to this combined H&A/h2o-verse !!!!!!! Red Ranger 1, also many thanks for your faves etc of this fic. Re the title, after initially not really knowing what to name this story, that last line just came to me one day ….also helps that “Ruin” is the name of a song by THE PIERCES !!!! A HUGE !!!! thanks to all for the SUBLIME !!!! comments throughout my latest [like hopefully always] slightly different take on life in Summer Bay!!!!!

Thank God Charlie was the cop and not Ruby he thought.  Milles, “I thought it was a different caravan park on the tv, but then again I did see myself being interviewed on tv to say I was a little shock does not even cover it. I remember that day now the tv crew came in and I had give them all a cup of tea and a slice of Leah’s carrot cake. Shame I didn’t give them some gateau really I was saving the carrot cake for the next time Rabbit popped up”  Charlie, “Yes a very trusting cop”  Elijah, “Well we might as well go out in a blaze of glory”

Just started reading this !!!!! Enjoying this so far especially ……..  Brax being very tender with his baby sis [male only kids sounds ….. third world]  Annie a Braxton !!!! ….. incl Brax’s subtle DNA test  Cheryl dead [suicide and all] !!!!  Charlie being supportive of Brax

I’ve just read this fic from the start … as it began just before my ordeal ………… LOVE it !!!!! …….especially ……  Ruby & Charlie’s 1st meeting  judgmental Martha  Ruby’s reaction to find out Charlie’s in town  Ruby slapping Charlie AND "Because it's true, isn't it mother dear?" she asked Charlie in a sickly-sweet voice.  Ruby ... being Ruby ["So you want me to feel sorry you because you were just some stupid slut who got herself pregnant because you were careless?" ….. ]  Adoption explanation [when I met Jenny and Mark that they were the couple that I wanted to have you.]  While Ruby might have a slight anger-management issue and was quick to judge, she was also a mature yo]ung woman and Charlie was proud to be her mother.  Date prep, esp………. They had walked about 10 steps away from the caravan, when they heard Ruby shout "You better not get up to any funny business, I want you home by 12 - you have work tomorrow".  “I think that is more of like a 15th date sort of revelation” she told him  Ruby’s reaction to the date  Car crash, esp. Ruby’s reaction to Nic being the driver  Ruby was very disappointed that it was her left that was broken – meaning she still had to write at school  "Yes I do. He hurt you, and I don’t care how long ago it was”  Charlie took Ruby’s hand. “Yes Ruby, I’m going to move in with you” Charlie replied. Ruby was silent for a moment, before throwing her one good arm around Charlie, whilst jumping up and down and squealing. Charlie couldn’t help but laugh as she hugged her daughter back, and joined in with Ruby’s jumping and squealing.

I caught up with all I’ve missed whilst I was ...............away [from Chapter 7 on] ……. SOOOOO much to LOVE !!!!!!!!! ….. especially ,,,,,,,  Watson’s kinky dream,  Dex thinking it was uncool for “Sid” to quote Star Wars,  the various references to Bugs Bunny,  the whole Heath lap dance thing,  Ruby ……being Ruby,  Watson/Elijah,  Charlie & Brax’s roll in the hay,  Elijah turning into a man sixed baby – and Watson sleeping him back to reality,  Heath wanting to feast on Maz,  Sid & Elijah’s bet,  Brax telling colleen & Maz he’s Superman,  Miles having THE CHAT with VJ,  the red riding hood Heath & Romeo thing,  Miles & VJ making chicken noises etc in tee pet shop,  Leah’s confusion about Lily & lilies ……………….and  Sid’s reaction to Heath eating Romeo. Yeah, LOVE this ….. Looking fwd to more zany Bayside antics !!!

My BIG catch up continues !!!!........ This fic was COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL and most unexpected .........  Amy wanted to marry Xave for the inheritance  Rubes & Romeo bailing to WA for a new life  Xave/ Indi ...... but its good that they are, as i’m not that big a fan of either There’s also some GREAT dialogie in here, like .....  Oh, look, it’s Summer Bay’s Public Enemy Numbers One and Two,”Miles commented when Romeo and Ruby finally made it to the house. They both looked uncomfortable.“We’re sorry, Mr.Copeland,”Ruby began. Miles silenced them with a wave of the hand.“Okay, I suspect Charlie’s given both of you a better lecture than I could give.You did the wrong thing and I think you both know that and there’s gonna be enough consequences and enough people giving you a hard time without me adding to it.So, just eat your breakfast.”  “I need to talk to you.” “What about?About the fact that you’ve been sleeping with Romeo?You’re a bit late, half the town already knows about that one.” “I’m sorry, Casey, I never meant for this to happen…” “Oh, you think that makes it all right, do you?”Casey looked at her in disgust.“You know, when I first met you, I thought you were really something.A real classy girl, the sort of person I didn’t think I’d have a chance in hell with.But now?You might have your airs and graces, your policewoman mother, your cosy middle class home…but you’re no better than the girls round here.I’m through with the lot of you.”He turned to get in the van. “Casey, wait!”Ruby protested,“You can’t throw everything away over this!” “What, you really think you’re worth me ruining my life over?”Casey asked scornfully,“I’ve got my HSC, I can go anywhere, go to uni, get a job.I don’t need Mangrove River and I don’t need Summer Bay.And I never have to see any of you again.”He got into the van with the other boys.“See you, Ruby,”he added sarcastically. .................... AND .......  “And I guess I need to say thank you.It was a long time since I’d had anywhere that felt like a home until I came here but…this did.” Miles waved a hand airily.“Ah, you brightened the place up.Sometimes you even made it overlit.”He gave Romeo a brief hug.“Be good.And if you can’t be good, be careful.” Ruby hugged him as well.“Goodbye, Mr.Copeland.Or do I get to call you Miles now I’m not at school?” “No, now you have to call me ‘my lord and master’.”He patted her on the shoulder.“Go on, get going, the pair of you.” Yeah, totally LOVED it !!!!!

Sooooooooo GREAT !!!!! .. esp. ....  Can I do it?”Bianca thought for a moment.“I just wish I could see her face…” “Look at Mum’s,”Xavier suggested,“That’ll give you a fair idea of what she’ll look like.” “Am I the only one taking this seriously?”Gina demanded. “Come on, Gina,”Bianca interceded,“April’s hardly the first seventeen-year-old girl to get pregnant and not every teenage father steps up the way Xavier has.I think they are taking it seriously and I think we should be proud of them.”  The irony [given my own sitch] of Ruby & Rabbit saving Alf when he had his heart attack  Miles opened the classroom door.“Corey?Congratulations, you’ve just been promoted to class teacher.Get everyone to read their textbooks from Page 45 onwards and if anyone ask where I am, tell them I’m in a phone box putting my underpants outside my trousers.”He closed the door and turned to Rabbit.“Let’s go then.”  “Well, don’t struggle!You’ll only sink faster!” “Is that HSC Science?”asked Xavier. “No, I saw it in an Indiana Jones film.”  Rabbit walked closer to Summer, lowering her voice and talking in a conspiratorial manner.“I’m your daughter from the future.” Summer looked at her, seeming interested rather than disbelieving.“Really?” Rabbit nodded.“I’ve come back in time to make sure that you and my dad get together or I’ll never be born.And it is important that he never, ever finds out who I am or that I’ve told you this.” Summer stared at her, definitely interested.“So who is he?” ........... AND  how Rabbit DIDN’T go anywhere at the end !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I’ve just caught up with all I missed on this fic [the final 2 chapters] !!!! LOVED it !!! Matt is such a creep ........ SOOOOO glad he died of his own hand [Charlie didn’t kill him] .......and cooooooooooooooool that Ruby & Charlie had a happy ending [incl Ruby & Hannah becoming friends once more]

LOVE this !!!!!!!!!!! VERY funny !!!!! ......... all the references to SW and the H&A ppl interplay !!!!! LOVED how Xave fell for robotRuby and that he likes AprilD2 !!!! The hopelessly inaccurate Rivertroppers are cooool .....esp. cos it meant that Aunt Rachel didn’t die ...... Obi-Miles “I’ve got a beard now” is cool .........and the warnings [both blondes] against Xave getting interested in Princess Indi!!!!! Yeah, sooooooooooooooooo much to love !!!!!!

LOVED the Sid & Marilyn suits !!!!!!! Heath just continues to be hilarious, as does Elijah ….and LOVED that Watson’s internet date would have been DEX!!

SOOOOOO SOOOOOOO Funny !!!!!! I ADORE how scandalous Ruby is [with the nakedness & getting “hot & heavy” with the R101 !!!!!!] …. …………..and why the H1000 had a meltdown AND ……. ……how you’ve involved both Dex and especially April in the fic !!! The H1000 being “out of commission” has given me GREAT idea for next time too!!!

REALLY enjoyed this story !!!! Ch 7 – LOVED how up front Rubes was, and was surprised by Grant’s reaction!!!! Ch 8 – GREAT that Grant served time, and that Ruby named her bub after her mum.

It soooooo is, and Charlie just the right person to involve in a homage to the bit of Terminator 2 when Sarah Connor was in a psych hopital.

MANY many thanks for the AWESOME comments !!!! I must admit that I was kinda inspired by the fact that I can’t remember that last time we saw a hair pulling etc catfight in real H&A. I DO remember that Gypsy was involved in a number of them!!!
