Man !!! That was DARK and sooooooo well done, especially.............  I once knew the meaning of this word. I once was able to use the term. Because I had friends, I had great friends, but they never understood me and I still at times felt alone. To compensate for this feeling, I had to inflict a certain pain upon my body to assure myself that I was capable of feeling pain, that I wasn't numb. But then, they discovered me and were naturally horrified.  This is my chocolate, this is my coffee. This is my adrenaline rush.  As I sit on the bathroom floor, the remaining effects of my fifth adrenaline rush of the day finally wearing off; I can just about hear Mum's Bingo show. Mum is always hoping to get lucky but we're the unluckiest family in the world, so I doubt that she'll ever win anything.  Without giving her time to undress, I ripped her clothes open and pushed her up against the wall. She was a smart girl; she knew it would be stupid to object to my actions. As I entered her, I felt the rush become stronger and stronger as she moaned. She moaned so loud, and this encouraged me to push harder and harder. Finally, at the pinnacle point of our exchange, I moaned my loudest yet and then relaxed. I’m soooo NOT of a fan of Xave’s ….and started reading this cos the premise sounded fatalistic. SOOOOO glad I read it though !!!!!

ADORED that, especially.............  “Yeah, well we’ll see how these next 6 months go and then I’ll decide if I want to continue with the lease” John said and Brax nodded in agreement. “I’d say that’s fair” Brax smiled as he held his hand for John to shake. “Guess I’ll see ya tomorrow” Brax smiled before he turned to walk out of the Surf Club, and made his way to Charlie’s house. “Bax” Jacob smiled as he ran up to greet the man. Although their relationship was far from great yet, Jacob was warming to the man.  “No offence Brax, but I think I can do a bit more than just showing people to their tables” “Of course” Brax answered “What about if I were to make you co-manager?” Brax asked “Me and you, we’d make a great team” “I’m not sure” Charlie shook her head “We’ve only just gotten back together and I’m not sure working with your partner is a very good idea. Yeah it could be fun, but I think we need space too, and work would be one way of getting that”  “You know, it will be a shame I’m not going to see you in that uniform anymore, don’t think you could keep it, from me, do ya?” Brax joked and Charlie managed a small laugh before she started to cry. “Hey, hey, baby, I’m sorry” Brax said “It was just a joke, I...” “I know” Charlie cried as she held onto Brax “It’s just when I take it off, that’s it finished. That part of my life, and I don’t know what’s coming next”  “Things like that” Charlie said as she shook her head “Often the people that you don’t expect.....they surprise you. I wouldn’t have thought he was capable either, but, Ruby wouldn’t lie about this, so I knew” Charlie said. Brax exhaled lightly as he kissed her forehead once again.  “Well whatever happens, I chose you over my career, so you better make it worth my while” Charlie said.  “Even Brax?” Ruby questioned and Charlie opened her mouth to talk but no words came out. “Nah, I could never stand in the way of you two” Ruby smiled lightly. “But you, Brax, do one little thing to hurt my mother, I’ll be after you”  he smiled lovingly at Charlie before kissing her softly. “Okay, I’m happy for you and all but please don’t do that in front of me again” Ruby said  “I vote bikini model” Brax grinned as he looked at Charlie.  “What about a child-minder?” Ruby questioned “You’d obviously need to go back to school for some certificates, but you’re great with kids”  “I’m good with Jacob” Charlie said “He’s my child, I love him. But other people kids, no thanks” Charlie said as she shook her head  “Well will you at least model that bikini for me” Brax smiled suggestively as he raised his eyebrows. Charlie laughed lightly. “Well that depends whether or not you’ve been good” “Oh, I’ve been very good” Brax grinned It’ll be sad when this story ends !!!! Words just describe AWESOME it is !!!!!!!

Danni02, you are soooooooooooooooo prolific with the frequency of your posting, but that’s a GREAT thing ...........as this fic is one of, if not the BEST ever, that I’ve read !!! Latest chapter was BRILLIANT !!!!, especially.............  Charlie was packing her things away in her office, trying to stop the tears falling down her cheeks, when there was a knock at the door and Georgie walked in. “Got a full confession, isn’t pressing any charges against you, and he’s dropping the charges against Xavier” Georgie smiled. “That’s great” Charlie smiled weakly as she picked up the photo of Jacob and Ruby from her desk.  “Sargent Buckton is one of the best officers on this force, if not thee best. You can’t suspend her indefinitely” Georgie said.  “Constable?” Charlie questioned “All the way back to Constable?”  It came down to what she wanted more in life. Her job, or finally the chance to be happy, with a man she truly loved.  “We’ll be needing a new Sargent. The first offer goes to you” “Me? But Sir, I’m only a Constable. You want me to jump Senior Constable and Leading Senior -” “I wouldn’t mention it if I didn’t think you’d be up to it. The offer is there” Joyce said  “Yeah I’m devastated that I’ve lost my career but knowing this is going to bring some peace for Ruby, I’d do it all again in a heartbeat”  Charlie smiled lightly as she reached into her pocket and lifted out her police id badge. She exhaled lightly as she handed it to Joyce, before she handed him back her gun, cuffs, and police belt. Not being able to talk, she smiled thankfully at Joyce before she stepped forward and picked up the pen, ready to sign herself out for the last time. Taking a deep breath, and extra-long to write her name, she silently said goodbye to this part of her life. She looked around the station one last time, before she walked out, and over to her car,  “Yeah, but he’s just so....Patrick” Georgie screwed her face her up and Charlie laughed.  “I cake” Jacob grinned excitedly.  “I fall in love and I lose my job. I arrest the man who attacked my daughter and I lose my job” Charlie shook her head as she felt a tear escape her. “God, why am I crying?” Charlie asked “It’s just a job” Charlie said as she wiped the tears from her face.  “Mamma” Jacob said as he put his little hands on her tear stained cheeks. “No” Jacob shook his head as Charlie’s tears fell. Charlie smiled lovingly at her son before she pulled him into a hug.

LOOOOOOVED that, especially.............  2.00. She muttered quietly under her breath “crap”. She turned around determined to get some much needed sleep, the last thing she wanted was to turn up to school looking tired. .............. Brax tossed and turned cursing a little as he caught a glimpse of the time which now read 2.30. All his effort at getting some sleep had proven impossible as he found his thoughts invaded by Charlie. He smiled to himself as his mind replayed images of her sweet but subtle smile, her perfectly shaded green eyes that embodied subtle shades of blue in the centre.  Do you wanna watch where you’re going” Brax addressed Heath as he turned back around, but to his disappointment Charlie was no longer in sight. “Hy you’re the one that stopped dead in front of me” Heath barked back at Brax as he left Brax behind and started walking towards the entrance of the building.  “Erm....” brax began as he rubbed the back of his head with his hand... “Is it ok if I take this seat... well not take it I mean erm... sit in it...here... that’s if it’s not already taken?”  She wondered if he had been sent to her by a higher force of some sort. Having found herself in a cycle of misery and loneliness over the last Four years, she looked on as the boy that sat in front of her had managed to make her smile. It wasn’t the fake smile that she had practiced in front of the mirror several times a day, this smile was genuine, her laugh was genuine and around him her problems seemed to somehow turn into a distant memory.  He came to a standstill as he saw a girl just a few meters ahead of him sitting by herself on the sand as she stared out into the crystal blue water before her. He didn’t have to see her face; he knew straight away it was Charlie merely by looking at slim tanned legs, which seemed to go at an endless length. He walked towards her placing his hand briefly on her shoulder, which caused Charlie to jump dramatically.  She couldn’t hold the tear back any longer; it had been lingering in her eye since she sat on the beach. She cursed herself as she felt the tear roll down her face as she found it impossible to continue holding it back. Why did he have to be there at that minute, she wanted him to leave, she cared what he thought about her and the last thing she wanted was for him to be looking at her with pity, it was a look she was too familiar with and had grown to hate. She felt brax hand graze her chin has he lifted her face in his direction. The immediate touch of his hand against hers sent goose bumps racing through the whole of her body. As she met his gaze she almost couldn’t remember why she had been so upset, and for the first time since he had been sat next to her she was grateful to have him there.  Although she wanted more than anything to confide in him, she was afraid that once he knew he would look at her differently, right now his eyes were comforting but if he knew what had caused the tear she was scared it would change into a look of sympathy or even disgust.  Charlie opened her eyes and was instant met by his big green eyes. Charlie realised he was starting to close the gap that was almost nonexistent between them, and instantly smiled at the thought of what was about to happen.  For the first time in three years, the prospect of being in her house no longer scared Charlie as she found herself consumed with happiness at the simple thought of Brax.

That was ACE !!!!!!!!!!, especially.............  “No, about what young Casey Braxton did” Colleen said in a whisper. “You say nothing” Leah said “And I mean that Colleen, nothing” Leah spoke sharply and Colleen nodded as she scurried over to the table.  Jacob grinned excitedly as he clung onto the red fire truck, that Brax had given him 2 weeks early and hadn’t been able to put down since.  “Mum was with me, I don’t think I could go on my own. I don’t know how I would have gotten through this without her” Ruby smiled lightly “She’s been amazing”  I just tend to bite his head off whenever he opens his mouth and he’s still sleeping in the guest room”  “I know” Ruby sighed “But Xavier is so sweet and he’s been nothing but lovely and understanding to me. I’ve just been a proper bitch to him”  Charlie sat in the office alone for what seemed like hours, but in reality it was only about 10-15 minutes.  “Okay, so the way I went about this wasn’t the best or the right way, but I think we need to remember that we have a confession”  “Suspension?” Charlie questioned. Although she knew it was possibly coming, she was also a bit surprised that it had come to this. “Well, how long for?” Joyce took a deep breath. “Indefinitely, effective immediately”

This fic get FUNNIER and WEIRDER [in a good ways] and STRANGER [also in a good way] by the chapter, especially.............  Santa, “Well Ric it seems you have done a top job on my Christmas cracker.” Ric, “Isn’t that Mrs Clause’s job?”  Santa, “Oh for the love of God woman please tell me you didn’t just pull that out from your bra?” Colleen, “Well its handy place to store this piece of very important document. It is times like these I need to remind you why you are Santa.” Ric, “What is so important about that tatty looking piece of paper that you stuff down your bra for safe keeping?” Ric turns a shade of green just thinking about it. Colleen, “This is the very special and binding commitment of the upmost animate responsibly one can ask of someone. The person who signs himself up must understand the importance of being jolly, fat, likes the colour red and gets on well with children.” Ric, “Sounds nothing like you Granddad.”  Santa, “Blue same colour as the water I fish in.” Colleen “Blue now that would look ridiculous it would be like the kids would be getting a visit from a jolly breaded cookie monster.”  Reindeer Irene runs round in excited circles.  Santa, “What the hell are you on about this is Ailsa the reindeer I named her after Ailsa.” Rudolph, “I don’t know Santa silly humans.”  Santa, “Fairy dust plus Bianca’s magical punch helps.”  Miles, “Yes but Rabbit that was rather naughty of you using all King Xavier’s bubble bath like that.” Rabbit, “Well he did say help yourself and you will get the blame seeing as no one but you can see me.”  Miles turns to try the door handle, but it feels like someone is holding it tightly from the other side. Rabbit happily takes the tiny key that she has magically made appear out of thin air and turns it in the lock.  Kitchen Wench Leah quickly sweeps her way over to Miles pining him against the door. Miles blushes as she wraps one of her see through stocking filled legs round him. Kitchen Wench Leah, “Well your going to try Greek tonight Mister I can tell you.”  Santa, “Stupid flaming thing didn’t it see us?” Ric, “Well no Granddad you have just activated the invisibility cloaking gadget.”  Ruby, “I will give you a big wet kiss if you stop singing.”  Charlie, “Hands up that’s it slowly.” Santa, “It’s me you flaming pair of galahs.” Charlie, “Shut up show some respect.” Angelo, “Who are you sir?” Santa, “Oh I don’t know the flaming Easter bunny.”  Heath seeming quite clever that he was distracted but his favourite song Barbie Girl coming on the radio.

Yaaaaaaaay !!!! The truth ..... but will it be legally be able to be used to convict him ??? ADORE this story, especially.............  “I don’t care” Charlie said “Because I don’t want to go home to Ruby feeling like this anymore. I want her to stop feeling like she doesn’t want to be here anymore, that’s she dirty and that Xavier doesn’t love her anymore because of this” Charlie said as tears formed in her eyes. “I can’t deal with seeing her like this and I promised that I would arrest Casey and that’s what I am going to do” Casey said as she got into the car, and turned the key in the ignition. “Charlie” Georgie shouted as she opened the door and sat down in the passenger seat. “You could get into real trouble for this. Is this really worth ruining your career?” “What, seeing my daughter’s attacker go to jail?” Charlie asked “Of course it is. I would do anything if it meant sending him down and helping Ruby get some justice”  “I going to get him to confess” Charlie said “Even if I have to be ruff with him. He hurt my daughter and he’ll deserve whatever I throw at him”  She marched out of the car and over to Casey to where she grabbed hold of his arm causing him to call out in pain as he dropped his surfboard. “What the hell are you doing?” Heath asked. “Casey Braxton. I’m arresting you for the sexual assault of Ruby Buckton” Charlie began reading him his rights but Heath stopped her.  “I’m going to get him to confess” “Charlie you know this won’t be on record” Georgie said. “You are an officer on this case. If you are there its fine” Charlie said, making herself believe what she was doing was okay. Georgie sighed lightly as she looked to Charlie. “Charlie” Georgie shook her head. “Fine, I’ll do this without you”  “Now what happened” Charlie asked, but Casey remained silent as tears formed in his eyes. “Casey” Charlie yelled as she struck his arm. “Tell me what happened” Casey closed his eyes as memories of that night came flooding back to him.  The ENTIRE flashback/confession, in particular ….. “But I don’t want it” Ruby shook her head “Casey, please don’t” Ruby said, just as Casey thrust himself inside her. Ruby tried to call out but she’d become paralysed with fear. She opened her mouth to shout out for help, to beg Casey to stop, but no words came out. As she felt him inside her a lone tear rolled down her cheek. She tried to move her hands but Casey’s grip was too tight, she was trapped. As she once again tried to shout out, she found herself still unable to say anything. Closing her eyes tightly she hoped this would be over soon. “Oh God” Casey said as tears formed in his eyes. “I really didn’t realise.....I thought.....when she went quiet, I thought she gave in to what she really wanted. But, she didn’t. She didn’t want this. She was....she was too scared to shout out” Casey shook his head as a tear rolled down his cheek. Charlie too felt herself well up as Casey had admitted to raping her little girl. “I’m so sorry, Charlie, I didn’t mean this, I swear, I thought....but I was wrong. She kept asking me to stop, but I just kept ignoring it thinking eventually she would give in and I thought she had but....” Casey tears became heavier as realisation that he was a rapist hit him “Oh God what have I done” Casey cried “I’m a rapist”

That was TENSE at times, but ALWAYS awesome !!!!!!!, especially.............  “Well I’m sure your Mum would go with you for support, or I could come, if you wanted. Anything to make it easier for you” April smiled lightly as they continued to walk along the beach.  The ENTIRE sequence that started with ………………Ruby said, before she stopped frozen to the spot as she saw the surfer emerge from the water. Her smoothie fell to ground as she tried to turn and run as far away from him as he could, but she remained still, not able to move, no matter how much she tried.  “You mean Dr Scott” Ruby grinned “She’s going to be an ace doctor one day” Ruby said causing April to blush slightly.  “I know” Ruby nodded “But Sid you do have to sympathise with me. I live with Charlie” “Oi” Charlie said “Just because you’re in hospital doesn’t mean you can get away with something like that” Charlie joked and Ruby laughed. “But it’s nice to see you laugh” Charlie smiled.  “Yes” Sid answered “But let’s hope it doesn’t come to that. No one should have to have their -” Sid stopped mid-sentence as he glanced at Charlie. “Well, you’re free to go” Sid said as he looked back down at Ruby, before he excused himself from the room.  She watched in amusement as she saw Brax trying his hardest to settle a shaken up Jacob, who had woken from his nap, while Charlie had been at the hospital, and didn’t appreciate being left with a strange man. “You said he wouldn’t wake up” Brax said as he handed Jacob to Charlie.  Charlie laughed lightly as Jacob shook his head as Brax spoke to him. “Someone doesn’t want to share Mamma” Charlie said as the door opened and Xavier walked into the house. “Xav” Charlie smiled.  “Nah” Brax shook his head “I don’t want to be associated with a rapist and people who can stick up for one. I want nothing more to do with them” Brax said again. “You’re my family now” “I understand why you want to turn your back on Casey, but, Heath and your Mum. Your own Mother” Charlie said. “I don’t get how you can do that” “Well I get it” Ruby said “And I admire your strength” Brax smiled lightly at Ruby before looking back to Charlie. “You’re my whole life” Brax said.  “Okay, so I can understand that, but you’re Mother?” Charlie questioned. “Heath is her favourite and Casey is the youngest, so they can do no wrong” Brax explained “She doesn’t want to know me anymore because I don’t believe my own blood. Truthfully Charlie, I didn’t just leave last night. We had a big argument and Mum said I wasn’t welcome in her house anymore, she said I wasn’t really a Braxton anymore. That I.....I was dead to her” Brax said as he bowed his head down.

I thought that was the plan anyway …. cos you had LOTS on your plate …… like how you suggested that I join Red Ranger 1 et al in co-writing BAY WARS !!!!

LOVED that !!!!!, especially.............  “Great, so what....20 more of those and he’ll like me?” Brax laughed.  “Mmm” Charlie said as she pulled back “Let’s keep it PG” Charlie said as she looked over to her son, who seemed engrossed in a kids TV programme that was playing on the TV.  “Well, I was thinking a counsellor” Charlie said “I know you might not think it’ll help, but the couple of times I went to see one after my....” Charlie trailed off “It did help and I wish I continued to see one, and then with the whole commitment issue thing too, they really helped me there”  “Are you two?” Ruby said and Charlie nodded once again. “Mum, that’s great” Ruby smiled as she hugged her.  “Friendly dragons?” Brax questioned “Well what’s the point in that?” “Well they couldn’t exactly be evil fire breathing bad ones, could they? It’s supposed to make the kids happy, not scare them” Charlie said. “Well the opening song is enough to put me off for life. Talk about annoying” “Hey, you’ve only had to watch it once. Consider yourself lucky” Charlie said “But Jacob seems to enjoy it, so that’s all that matters” Charlie smiled as they looked down to Jacob who was grinning at the TV, as April and Ruby came out of the bedroom. “Apil” Jacob smiled as he jumped down from Charlie’s knee and ran over to her and showed her his new toy truck.  Although Jacob looked more like Charlie than Angelo, he did take the same hair colour as his father, but that was pretty much the only thing Jacob took from Angelo, the rest of him being all Charlie.  “I tried to chuck him out the house. But Mum and Heath are on his side, so I left instead” “You left the house?” Charlie questioned and Brax nodded “I don’t wanna stay in the same house as rapist...” As Brax saw Charlie’s reaction to the word, he reached his hand out and rubbed her arm in comfort.  “Well it’s not your fault, really” Charlie said “And you believe he did this, so....I mean if you thought he was innocent things might have been different, but...” Charlie trailed off and once again Brax smiled lightly. “Do you want me to talk to him?” Brax asked “Maybe I can get a confession out of him? And I won’t use my fists”  “You promise?” Brax questioned and Charlie nodded as she pursed her lips together. She wasn’t sure if she could keep that promise. Casey had hurt her daughter, and she was going to arrest him for this one way or another, she’d make sure of it, after all she’d made a promise to her daughter that she would do this, and she felt that that promise had to be kept.

That was cooooool, especially.............  For the first time since he sat next to her, she slowly lifted her head, instantly catching his gaze. She felt her heart race pick up at a rapid pace, she could have sworn it had gotten so loud the whole class could hear it; she felt her cheeks heat up as she flushed as he continued to glare at her. Her mind was telling her to look away, but she felt paralysed, unable to break her gaze from him. Brax took a deep breath in as he found himself almost hypnotised by her perfectly shaded eyes. He found himself wondering about her past, what her life was like, but most of all he wanted to know the cause of the apparent sadness he could see in her eyes.  Surveying her arms Charlie acknowledged the goose bumps that had formed.  Both Brax and Charlie let out a little laugh both glad that any earlier awkwardness had now dissolved. “So I’m gonna be doing all the work ey” Brax asked as he flashed her one of his smile, making her flush ever so lightly. “I have no idea what you’re talking about; having to write down all your wonderful ideas will be of great strain to my hand” Charlie beamed as she mocked Brax.  Charlie and Brax slowly walked out of the class both disappointed that they would now have to go their separate ways.

LOVE the darkness [the rape story] and the lightness [brax trying to win over Jacob], especially.............  “So it’s my fault” Ruby said as a tear rolled down her cheek. “Because I kept showering. I washed away evidence”  “I do” Ruby managed a week smile. “And, I know, I mean, look at you, you’ve gone like 20 years since your....and you got a child from it. I know I can get through this because I just need to look at you, you did it, and I know I’ll be able to as well” Ruby said and Charlie smiled lightly as she hugged her daughter.  “But what are they going to get?” Ruby asked “There’s no evidence anymore” Ruby cried “Why is he lying? Hasn’t he hurt me enough already?”  “I just don’t feel hungry” Ruby sighed “I feel horrible and dirty. I don’t want to eat”  “Not great” Charlie sighed “She didn’t sleep well last night. She kept seeing it happened. She kept yelling out for Casey to stop. So I had to sit up with her most of the night. So I’m pretty tired myself, but thankfully Ruby is sleeping, has been with no nightmares for the last hour, so that’s good”  “Away” Jacob said as he held his hands up to go to Charlie. Charlie smiled lightly at her son as she lifted him into her arms.  “Cookie” Jacob smiled as he clapped his hands together excitedly. Brax laughed lightly as he opened the box and pulled out a cookie, handing one to Jacob. Jacob looked down to the cookie as he shook his head. “No” Jacob pulled a face a before he dropped the cookie to the ground. Brax looked at Charlie confused. “I ehm....I probably should have told you he likes white choc chip cookies not milk choc chip ones” Charlie said as she bit her lip. “Wow and here’s me thinking a cookie was a cookie” Brax said “He’s a kid, can’t you just tell him that’s the kind he likes?” “He’s not stupid” Charlie said “He knows the different between white and milk chocolate” “Okay, so cookies didn’t work” Brax sighed “Thanks for the not so useful tip there Mother”  “I really don’t know why he is so scared of you” Charlie sighed “He’s never acted like this with anyone else before”  “No no” Jacob squealed as he held his hand out, as if asking Brax to stop walking. “Mamma” Jacob said as he held his hand out to go to Charlie, but Charlie shook he head as she stepped forward, and closer to Brax. “You know, I think he feels threated by you” Charlie said “Here’s someone new coming in to get Mamma’s attention” Brax smiled lightly as he took a step forward.

This rape storyline gets more intriguing by the chapter, especially.............  “At first yes” Casey said, seeing he needed to be fully truthful. “She said she didn’t want to do this to Xavier, he was the one she wanted. I told her Xavier never needed to find out about us, and that’s when she gave in. Ruby wanted it to happen, there’s no way that I would do this otherwise”  Georgie and Patrick shared a glance with each other. “Or maybe this is exactly the reason why you did” Patrick said “Your still hung up on her and can’t stand that she is with Mr Austin. You wanted to punish her for her choices, because she doesn’t want to be with you”  “Perhaps it was from someone who was trying to get you away from them. Someone who was saying no?” Georgie questioned and Casey laughed lightly  “Mr Austin, Mr Braxton had pressed charges against you for assault” Georgie said and Xavier sighed lightly.  Xava go” Jacob said as he pointed to the door. “Yeah sweetie. Silly police arresting the wrong people” Charlie said as she looked to her son. Jacob looked to Charlie his big blue eyes widening before he yawned. “Bankie” Jacob said as he rested his head on Charlie’s shoulder. Charlie smiled lightly at her son, before she walked through to his bedroom to put him down for the night.  “Sorry mate” Patrick shook his head “We’re going to have to put you in the cell” “Seriously?” Xavier questioned and Georgie nodded. “Constable Avery here will take you through to get your fingerprints” Georgie said. “But how am I supposed to be there for Ruby now. She needs me” Xavier said.

LOVED that, especially.............  “No, because you need to get to know him yourself, without cheating” Charlie said. “Cheating? It’s not a test, Sarg” Brax laughed. “C’mon, Brax, you know what I mean” Charlie said “And besides he's just a little kid. I’m sure you can find a way to win him over”  “You gave up the boys for me, you’re taking on a teenager and a toddler. You surprise me, that’s all”  Nah mate, you’re wrong” Brax shook his head as he pulled Charlie closer to him, in a protective manner. “Because when it comes to rape...” Brax trailed off as he once again shook his head. “He should go to jail”  “Well you won’t need me to kiss it better then” Charlie teased. “Well now you mention it, it does sting a little” Brax grinned and Charlie laughed lightly before she softly kissed his cheek.  She looked so peaceful, like she didn’t have a care in world, but Xavier knew that that was just wishful thinking right now, for when Ruby woke up, the same broken, scared and fragile Ruby would be back.  “No Casey please” Ruby screamed as she kept getting flashes of that night before her. The feeling of him breathing down her neck, the overwhelming scent of his cologne. “Casey” Ruby cried.  “No” Charlie shook her head “You won’t. It’s still very early days yet. These next few weeks will be tough, but you’ve got me and Xavier here to help you get through this okay” Ruby nodded lightly as she kept her head pressed against Charlie’s chest. Charlie placed a soft kiss on top of her daughters head  “Mmm Xavier, this is really good” Charlie smiled “Like really good. Have you never thought about being a chef?” “I dunno” Xavier sighed “I’m not sure my mum would be best pleased. She wants me to be an accountant or an engineer or something fancy like that”  So you’re going to let me eat in my bedroom?” Ruby questioned “I don’t need to come to the table like normal?” “I think I could bend the rules a little” Charlie smiled as she lightly rubbed her daughters arm. Ruby smiled lightly at Charlie.

SOOOO much to LOVE in the 1st 2 chapters, especially.............  Casey once again pulled brax out of his day dream..., “Bwax” Casey toughed at Brax’s shirt.... “Yh Case” Brax answered ruffling Casey’s hair. “Casey is hungry”..... Brax laughed lightly as Casey looked up at him with his big brown eyes. “Come on then big guy, let’s get you feed” Brax said as he picked Casey up and headed to the kitchen.  “Settle down everyone, take your seats.... we have a new comer today”. Brax looked up to see Mr Jones standing at the front of the class. But what caught his attention was the girl standing next to him. “Class this is Charlotte” “I prefer Charlie” she said looking at him briefly  Although she seemed to be smiling, her eyes seemed sad almost as if they were screaming for help.  She couldn’t begin to comprehend how he managed to cope with it all. She would have called their mother about heath not turning up to class but she knew all too well that it would have been a waste of time.  He only hoped that he would one day make something of himself and show his father that they didn’t need him, and that the only person who had lost out from him leaving them was himself.  “Really mum, REALLY, you have time to drink yourself into a stoop but you can’t feed your three year old son” brax spat the words at his mother, anger clearly evident in his voice  For him it felt nothing like home, more like a prison cell and each passing day, he felt like it was going to consume him,  “Yh erm... I’m good with faces” brax replied sheepishly.  Brax couldn't help but notice how vulnerable she looked, almost like the slightest thing could break her.  she dismissed her current train of thought as she remembered the mess that was called her life that would once again continue once she entered her front door. She took a deep breath as she turned the handle, automatically readjusting her face with the smile that she had learned to falsely but perfectly wear for so long now.  but with a drunk for a mum, and an older brother who was either working or looking after their younger brother Casey, Heath at times (mostly all the time) felt ignored.  Brax couldn’t understand why he found it so difficult to talk to her, he had felt the slightest shiver when his hand had brushed against hers, but tried to cover it up. LOVE that Chax are teens in this, and 3 yr old Casey is cute. Sounds like what happened in the show [the Charlie/Grant/Ruby sitch] is why Charlie is the way she is in this fic.

SOOOOOOO many GREAT moments, especially.............  “I was going to talk to someone” Charlie said as she glanced briefly at Brax before looking back through the windscreen. “Oh, anyone I know?” Brax asked. “I think you know him pretty well” Charlie smiled. “So, what was it you wanted to say to this guy?” Brax questioned. “You know I don’t really know that yet. I was going to use this drive to sort it out in my head” Charlie said and Brax nodded lightly. “Well I’ll stay quiet and let you think” Brax said, and they remained silent for the rest of the journey to Brax’s house. Once they arrived Brax got out of the car first and started walking up to the door before stopping and looking back around to face Charlie. “It was me you were talking about right? I mean you were coming to see me?”  “No, I think I do, I just....I feel so selfish” Charlie sighed “Here’s me coming here and wanting to talk to you about us when Ruby’s at home trying to cope with what your brother did....you brother and I’m here...I should go” Charlie said as she turned to walk out of the door, before changing her mind and turning to face Brax again. “But I don’t want too, God I just....” Charlie walked up to Brax and pulled him into a kiss.  Brax laughed lightly as he shook his head. “Well maybe we could give this thing one more shot” Brax grinned. Charlie hit his arm lightly. “Don’t do that” Charlie said “I thought you were being serious”  “It’s fine” Brax smiled “Besides, I think I need to win the main man in your life over first” “Might have your work cut out” Charlie laughed “He was not pleased to see you this afternoon”  I don’t expect her to forget. I don’t think she ever will, but....” Charlie trailed off as Brax felt her grip on him tighten. “Hey, Rubes has got you” Brax smiled as he pulled back from the hug and looked into Charlie’s eyes. “And you’re amazing Charlie. She has you to help her and that’s all she needs” Charlie looked into Brax’s eyes and smiled. “And you know, if I was needed, I’m here for her too” Brax said and Charlie smiled before she kissed him once more.  “I didn’t” Casey sighed “At least I don’t recall doing it, but Ruby seems so adamant I did it” “Well yeah, she just wants to get out of the fact that she cheated on Xavier. Pretty low of her crying rape, but she needs to do something if she doesn’t want to lose Xav”  “No” Casey shook his head “I appreciate what you are trying to do Heath, but this is just making everything worse. I’m not hiding, I’m not running. I’m innocent” Casey stood up as he walked over to the door and opened it, giving himself up to the police.

Elijah sits with his head down muttering grace to himself. King Xavier raises his fog horn the sound of his booming voice makes everybody jump. King Xavier, “IS EVERYBODY LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS KICKASS FREAST?”  Queen Sasha, “CORRECTION HE DID UNTILL I CAUGHT XAVIER HERE NECKING IT DOWN IN THE CELLER.”  Elijah, “Why hello you can come and scrub my kitchen worktops down anytime.”  King Xavier orders everyone to have a food fight. The food fight comes to a end when the bell from the bell tower chimes signalling after dinner entertain was about to begin.  Joseph, “it’s a bit girly through isn’t it?”  King Xavier, “What is your name my smelly friend?” Tramp, “Miles Copeland my king.”  Miles, “They all think I’m mad out here.” Rabbit, “Well Miles I attend to agree with them, you are talking to an invisible girl in a giant orange box.”  Brax, “Yeah right I’m so going to start dating a ex supermodel. I mean haven’t you noticed I’m a troll?”  Brax, “No way but that was ages ago. Do you mean the time you got locked up for taking candy from a baby?”  Brax, “I want you to be our spy. Go to Santa’s grotto and report back to me of their plans to try and end our evil ways this Christmas.”

Should Mummy date Brax?” Ruby questioned. “No” Jacob shook his head. “No?” Charlie questioned “You won’t even think about it?” “No” Jacob yawned before he rubbed his eyes and held him hands out to go to Charlie. “Bankie” Jacob said, wanting his blanket.  “Dirty, violated, dirty some more” Ruby said as she continued to look straight in front out her. “I don’t really feel so good” Ruby said as a tear rolled down her cheek. “And to top it all off, I cheated on you” “Rubes, you didn’t cheat one me. The kiss became more passionate as Casey ran his hands up Ruby’s back.  Charlie sighed as she once again cancelled the call from Brax. “How long is it going to take him before he gets the message?” Charlie sighed. “Oh I bet a few more calls” Bianca sighed. “How many has that been now?”  “I know that” Charlie exhaled lightly “But he is his brother and I feel like if I were to date him now, it would be too hard for Ruby to cope with”

The girl looked a mess. She looked terrified and was tightly gripping onto her mother.  “Casey is your bother” Charlie cried “And he.....he ra.....he ra......” Charlie broke down unable to say her daughter was raped. Brax stepped forward and went to pull her into a hug, but Charlie resisted. “You’re brother attacked my daughter. If I was to stay with you now....” Charlie trailed off as she shook her head. “We’re done. It’s the way it has to be”  “You think I’m lying?” Ruby questioned and Xavier turned around as he shook his head. “Rubes, no I...” Xavier trailed off unsure of what to say. A tear rolled down Ruby’s cheek as she looked down to her engagement ring and rolled it around her finger. “You’re supposed to believe me” Ruby cried “You’re supposed to believe me and stand by me no matter what. Because it happened Xavier. She walked across to Ruby’s bedroom and knocked on the door before walking in. “Here you go” Charlie said as she handed Xavier the bear.  “You’re probably just scared that he is going to hurt you again” Xavier said. “The way I see it, is if you want my opinion, you’ve got two options. Option one, you give Brax that second chance, and you get to be happy again, or option two, you stick to your guns and don’t forgive him, but you’re miserable right now, no offence”  “I would offer to hurt him if he ever hurt you again, but I think he’s just a tad bigger than me, so I don’t think I will” Xavier said and Charlie laughed.  Aww what I was looking forward to being a bridesmaid” Indi sulked. “Oh look at that April, she thinks she’s getting to be a bridesmaid” Ruby teased. “We’re not?” April asked. Ruby laughed “Of course you are. And Jake will be my little pageboy. Aww bless he’s be so cute in a little suit. And my Mum will give me away....aww; I’m going to have so much fun planning this” Ruby grinned “Although I think I want a small wedding. Close friends and family only”  Casey smiled as he noticed Ruby. She made her way straight to the bathroom and turned on the shower, getting in and scrubbing herself all over, still dressed in her blue dress, her mascara ran down her face as cried and cried. She hit her hand against the wall a few times before she slid down and sat in the bottom of the shower, the warm water falling fast over her as she continued to shed her tears. “Rubes, is that you?” Charlie questioned as she walked into the bathroom and squinted her eyes as they adjusted to her turning the light on. “Ruby what are you doing?” Charlie questioned. Charlie’s question went unanswered as Ruby continued to cry the tears that were falling. “Ruby” Charlie said starting to feel worried. “Sweetie” Charlie stepped forward and pulled her daughter close, the water falling down, getting Charlie wet. “He...I....I was....” Ruby cried as she clung tightly onto her mother. “Mum” Ruby cried. She closed her eyes as she mustered the strength to be able to talk. “I didn’t want to do it Mum. I didn’t want it but he wouldn’t stop. He just wouldn’t stop” Ruby cried as she clung tightly onto her mother.  The one thing she tried so desperately to stop from happening to her little girl had happened. As she held a broken Ruby in her arms, she felt so helpless.  “I know who it was” Ruby said as the tears continued to roll down her cheeks. “Casey. It was Casey” She buried her head against her mother’s shoulder as she cried uncontrollably. Charlie had to admit she was a little shocked. She never expected it to be Casey.  “Maybe if I just said no one more time” Ruby cried “I wouldn’t be feeling like this right now. I feel so dirty” Ruby cried. “I need to go for a shower” Ruby said as she stood up from the bed.  Deep down Charlie knew it wasn’t her fault, or Ruby’s, but Casey’s, but it didn’t stop her from feeling like she somewhat failed her daughter. All Charlie could do now, was promise to put Casey behind bars for as long as possible, and she would let nothing get in the way of that.  “I swear I didn’t” Casey said “Look, we had sex last night, but it wasn’t rape. She wanted me. She’s probably just saying this not to get in trouble for cheating on you”  “C’mon lets go get this face cleaned up” Heath said “I can’t believe you let a girl like Xavier hit you so much” Heath laughed as he and Casey walked off the beach.  “Again?” Xavier questioned and Charlie nodded. “Shouldn’t she not be going for a shower right now? I mean can’t you tell his DNA and stuff from...there. We can prove it was him” “I tried telling her” Charlie answered “But she’d already showered last night, and in her clothes, so any evidence will be gone” Charlie said.  “But, you mark my words Xavier, I’ll get him into a jail cell if it’s the last thing I do”

THAT was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo HILARIOUS !!!!, most especially …..  Mary’s dream she hadn’t pictured that she felt like she was close to getting frost bite or having an annoying over the top excited husband sat next to her, who was singing jingle bells at the top of his voice. Mary also left out two impatient children sitting behind them, their son James asking if they were there every thirty seconds as they drove to Lapland, yes that’s right they were driving to Lapland.  Joseph, “You have always said this is the way you dreamed your prefect Christmas to be, snow upon the ground. While we make our way to have a family holiday in Lapland, and now you are complaining. When I make your dream Christmas a reality honestly sometimes I just don’t understand women.”  Mary, “Oh you mean the little accident when you chopped that oak tree down and it landed on our car?” Joseph, “Well I need the wood it’s my main tool of my trade, what with me being a carpenter and all.” James, “Daddy’s a good carpenter his teaching me to be one.” Mary, “Oh no I already have a house fill of unfinished or broken furniture which your daddy has made.”  Joseph, “Well someone has too I guess.”  Jo “Dada, Dada said naughty word.”  Joseph, “Oh I’m sorry I thought I would drive like a rockstar for awhile.”  James, “I built the Star Wars Lego Deathstar.”  Elijah, “Are you by any chance one of those evil trolls trying to trick me.?”  Elijah, “Oh yes well I guess I can help you out being as I am the proud owner of this fine caravan park I guess you could call me the innkeeper of sorts.”  Elijah, “Yeah that’s what makes it the prefect cover. Now come to think of it why in God’s name have I just told you that? And how oh earth did you break through the magical barrier? This place is shut to the pubic in the Christmas period. Oh no Martha that witch come on we must go and tell her ladyship.”  Morag, “Elijah what are you doing? You can’t just go blurting that out. Especially to…….oh my tourists how on earth did they get through Bianca’s spell binding barrier?”  Elijah, “It seems the River Trolls are gathering all people on Santa’s naughty list to help them ruin Christmas.”  Morag, “Oh don’t mind Elijah there his always been a tad nutty when it comes to God ah yes got it I just hope fairy Sally Fletcher is listening.”  Morag, “They are kind of a double act can get quite annoying they have this habit of finishing each others sentences.”  Morag, “This is Ruby she likes a good flirt and too get the other Elves to do her work for her.”  Morag, “Very good I will get our defences between us and Mango Swamp sorted. I will also send Casey our spy into their swamp he used to be a River Toll so he will easily blend in.”
