Cash and Eden look to the future. David breaks the rules to help Roo. Theo goes behind Lacey’s back.
Extended Summary
Cash and Eden arrive back at the Lyrik house and comment on it being peaceful. Eden says Sonny told her about Remi being at his parents’ holiday place and that he’s still drinking. Cash has to get to work and points out so does she, offering to walk her. They realise they haven’t worked out where they’re going to live when they get married. Cash isn’t sure how long Harper’s staying; living with her, Tane and a baby isn’t ideal, neither is Cash moving in with Remi.
At the caravan park house, Alf tells Cohen the Stewarts came from Scotland (which he knows is “the one above England”). Cohen asks Alf about growing up with his sisters and he says being ganged up on made him the man he is today. Roo returns and seems a bit distracted. Alf suggests Cohen go upstairs to look at the family tree in his room, before asking Roo what’s going on. Roo tells him about Adrian leaving, saying he can’t do it, and wonders what she’s going to tell Cohen.
Theo and Lacey arrive back at the surf club. Theo suggests going to the house was a big step. When pushed, Lacey admits she felt jealous: It’s Jo and David’s home, not hers, but she thinks her mum would have approved. She says she needs to finish her shift. Cash and Eden come in and Theo checks with Cash that David is working. Cash comments to Eden that the two of them getting home from shifts tired and grumpy will be a trial run for being married and says he’ll never get bored of coming home to her.
Upstairs in Salt, Levi wonders if Mackenzie considers him not romantic. He offers to woo her over the bar and Mackenzie notes the beginning of their relationship wasn’t conventional. Levi tries to claim responsibility for the flowers she bought herself, prompting her to put one behind his ear and suggest he serenade her naked with it in his hair. Bree comes in as they’re kissing but assures them she doesn’t begrudge other people’s relationships. She goes to a table as Eden comes up and reveals she and Cash have found a wedding venue.
At the police station, David comments that he expected Cash to be at Irene’s farewell, explaining about Alf inviting him. Cash explains about wedding arrangements and David says the party showed him he was right to put down roots in the place. Cash notices Theo at the counter and tells David he was looking for him earlier. Theo admits it’s not police business but about Lacey. Later, in the office, Theo tells David about Lacey going to the house. He thinks that Lacey misses David and Jo and tells him not to give up.
Cohen is playing with the ball in the park as Alf and Roo chat nearby. Alf thinks they should put off telling him but Roo thinks Adrian isn’t coming back and didn’t tell Cohen because he knew it would crush him. Cohen comes over and asks if they can call Adrian. Alf gives them space and Roo tells Cohen about Adrian leaving and how she doesn’t know if he’s coming back.
Later, Cohen wonders what he did wrong. Alf and Roo try to convince him it’s not his fault but Cohen doesn’t believe them and walks off. Alf tells Roo to let him go. Roo is angry with Adrian, saying he chose to come into Cohen’s life and now Cohen has been rejected by both parents. She is determined to make it right.
Mackenzie says Levi has touched her heart in ways no man ever has, which he recognises as a surgery joke. Eden asks Levi if it’s weird for newlyweds to live with housemates. Levi diplomatically says she and Cash can live however they want. Eden goes to Bree’s table. Bree asks about Remi and Eden says he’s still drinking and she’ll sort him out when he gets home. Bree doesn’t think she should let him get in the way of her and Cash.
At the police station, Cash tells David about a court date. Roo arrives and tells David about Adrian abandoning Cohen. She asks for Adrian’s address. David says they can’t just hand it over because of privacy issues and she should let the department know. He leaves. Roo tries to ask Cash but he says it’s David’s decision.
Theo helps Lacey clear up at the surf club and she reminds him he owes her a private performance. David arrives and asks if Lacey has thought any more about his offer. Lacey says it’ll never be her home. David says he’s pushing it because her mother would want them to be together and it doesn’t hurt to take a look. Later, they come downstairs at the beach house. David tries to get Lacey to say something. Lacey says it’s a good house but it’ll never be her room. David says he and Jo miss her. Lacey concedes her mother would have made it an amazing home but declines an offer to stay. David says she’s welcome to use the key at any time.
Mackenzie and Levi are leaving Salt. Mackenzie takes the flower, telling Levi that she meant what she said. Bree comes over to Eden and asks if it was ever her job to take care of Remi. Meanwhile, Roo arrives home and tells Alf that David won’t give her the address and neither will Harper. Cohen has gone to bed and Adrian isn’t picking up his phone. Alf reminds her she wanted Adrian out of the picture once. Roo says she was told to help them bond and they’ve ended up here.
Cash is doing a handover for David at the station. He tells him he thinks he made the wrong call with Cohen. David says there are rules. Cash agrees David has come down on him about the way he’s handled things but he thinks this is different and doesn’t trust the system. He says he’s backed him to Roo but thinks he’s wrong. Shortly after, Eden arrives home to find Cash waiting for her. She says that she’s decided that when they get married they should live together without housemates. Cash says they’ll look for somewhere to rent but Eden says that once Remi gets back she’s going to kick him out.
Alf asks if Roo needs anything before he goes to bed. David suddenly appears and places a piece of paper on the table, saying they didn’t get it from him. Roo looks at it and finds it says “7 Bellwood Road, Kelly Ridge”. She goes to thank David but he’s already gone. Roo smiles.
