Cash breaks up a brawl. Marilyn fans the flames of her suspicion. The River Boys are off and racing again…

Extended Summary

A group of River Boys including Gage are involved in a lot of pushing and shoving outside the surf club. Eden is trying to restore order and getting attitude from Lacey, while Theo is trying to work out what’s going on. Cash arrives with a group of police officers and also tries and restores order. One of the Boys, Mouse, punches him and gets himself instantly arrested, with Gage also a target.

At the Lyrik house, Sonny turns up to see Remi. He acknowledges that it’s not much but gives Remi back some of the money he owed. Remi asks where he’s been staying and Sonny says he’s been crashing at Theo’s. Remi says that leeching off him is one thing but he doesn’t want him taking advantage of Justin and Leah.

Cash asks Gage if the car out the front is his, because he’s booking it for parking in a disabled spot. Lacey tries to protest Gage being arrested, insisting he didn’t do anything. Eden ends up arguing with her again and Cash steps in, reminding her who these people are and convincing her to go back to work. As the crowd disperses, Theo asks Lacey what happened and offers her a drink.

At the police station, Mouse tries to argue his innocence, saying Cash just got in the way of his fist, but Cash isn’t impressed. Mouse demands a lawyer and Cash says to get him a phone before turning his attention to Gage. Gage casually denies any wrongdoing and says Cash doesn’t like River Boys dating his sister, asking how she is these days.

Eden serves Theo and Lacey with a water and a coke. Lacey complains that she hasn’t got any bourbon and Eden says she’s not getting any at nine in the morning. Theo doing the introductions doesn’t do much to ease the tension as Eden makes it clear he’s not impressed with Theo’s friend and they bicker about their boyfriends. After Eden’s gone, Lacey says Mouse threw a race yesterday after doing a deal with a rival of Gage’s, costing him money…or at least that’s what Gage thinks. She also says Theo’s cute like a puppy.

Gage denies to Cash that the fight was anything to do with street racing and is vague about the money he said Mouse owed him. Cash notes Gage has a record for break and enter and possession of stolen goods. He shows him photos of the River Boy compound, commenting on the security, and says he might visit it with a warrant. He then remembers Gage’s parking ticket and goes to sort it. Gage takes his phone and calls Sonny to offer him work.

Theo and Lacey come downstairs and Lacey says she won’t tell Gage about this. After Lacey’s gone, Sonny comes over and protests that Theo was meant to have deleted her number. Theo tells him about the fight and thinks they won’t see Gage and Lacey again. Sonny tells him about Gage’s offer. At the Diner, Justin hears Marilyn on the phone to someone, pretending to be Roo and asking about Eliza. She says she’s spent days watching Eliza manipulate Roo and has to do something.

Theo and Sonny arrive back at the house where Leah is going shopping. Sonny says he found some leftover balaklava in the fridge and Theo says he said it wasn’t him. Sonny adds it was out of this world and Leah says he knows the right thing to say. After she’s gone, Theo warns Sonny about the River Boys’ reputation. However, Sonny thinks his need to pay Remi back and Theo needing money is enough to risk it.

The two of them head to a race track where the River Boys are gathering. Lacey greets them, saying something’s not right with the car, although she can’t give them more information. Gage turns up and says Mouse can rot in prison before telling Theo and Sonny to make a start on the car. However, Theo’s attention is more on Gage asking Lacey if she’s found a ride.

Back at the Lyrik house, Remi comments on Eden being in a fight and she says she was more adjacent to it, although it did remind her of the days when they were touring. She asks Remi what he intends to do about Sonny. Remi doesn’t intend to do anything, although he is surprised at Sonny paying the money back. Cash turns up and Eden puts some ice on his wound, although she’s not very good at it. Remi leaves them to it and Cash explains about Remi telling him about her reaction to Kirby’s solo career. Later, Eden notes that seeing all her friends move on is underlining how she’s made no progress in her own career. She says Cash fell in love with a musician, not a barmaid. Cash says he fell in love with her.

Gage continues to berate Lacey for not finding him another driver and unsuccessfully tries to call someone called Pete. Theo goes over to check on Lacey. Gage says Mouse could drive and none of the other Boys can. Sonny suggests Gage drive and Gage says he’s the one that tells other people what to do. Lacey explains that Gage is the one that takes the bets. Theo says he can drive, to Sonny’s consternation. Later, a race finishes and Lacey gives Theo a helmet for the next race, saying they wouldn’t want to ruin his smile. Sonny says Theo can still pull out but Gage says he can’t, because they’ve already taken bets.

At the Diner, Leah interrupts Justin and Remi to ask why Marilyn is taking a long break. Remi asks about Sonny staying with them and says Sonny let him down. Marilyn arrives back, looking shell-shocked. Later, she explains to Justin and Leah that she went to see Eliza’s previous foster parents pretending to be Roo. They told her they think Eliza started the fire that burnt her house down: She was off when she came to live with them, which they put down to past trauma, but she didn’t improve and didn’t like it when they got more foster children, with the house burning down not long after. Leah says it’s a full-on thing to accuse a teenage girl of if its not true and Justin suggests hiding the matches. Marilyn wonders if they’re safe.

Theo and the other driver rev up until Lacey starts the race. Theo gets an early lead but is unable to keep the speed up and the other driver overtakes him. Theo tries to find a way past him again, eventually managing to do it just before the end and crossing the line first. Sonny and Gage compliment Theo, with Gage noting Theo’s technique needs work but he takes risks and they can make money together. Later, Lacey drags Theo into the garage where they passionately kiss.
