Extended Summary

Tane is leading a class on the beach. Dana comes over, saying that she was happy to help out with the wedding arrangement but she can’t do everything. Tane is happy to leave it up to her. She’s wondering why Mackenzie isn’t anwering her calls. Tane says he’s confirmed having the reception at Salt but hasn’t actually done anything about the catering.

Theo and Lacey are getting dressed in the shack. Lacey isn’t keen on round two just now but says Theo should text her another time. Theo asks for her number again, admitting he deleted it last time. Lacey obliges and Sonny walks in on them about to kiss, saying Gage is looking for them. They find Gage who says he’ll sort out Theo’s pay.

At the Diner, Leah and Justin are slightly sceptical of Marilyn’s claims, saying there’d have been a police investigation if the fire had been deliberately lit. Marilyn still thinks she has a right to be worried and is determined to tell Roo. At the caravan park house, Eliza has been looking over the curriculum work Roo gave her. Roo says it’s good to be interested in something other than science. Eliza asks to have more screen time when she’s finished but Roo wants her to get some fresh air. Eliza suggests asking Tane if she can get back in the programme and knows from the ultrasound photo that Harper is due in twenty-one days. Roo gets a text from Marilyn wanting to meet and says maybe they can talk to Tane later.

At Salt, Dana chats to Tane about the decisions she’s made and says they need to sort out the catering. Tane has to get off to afternoon classes so Dana says she’ll sort it out. She approaches Abigail, who admits there haven’t been any events since she’s been there. Dana muses on how her ex used to be the events manager before he left the job and her. Abigail offers her a wine as a taster.

Back at the race track, one of the River Boys is bemoaning his car’s performance. Gage gets him to cough up some money and gives some of it to Theo. Lacey takes Gage off for a drink. Theo tells Sonny he has at least $2000, even after Gage took a large cut of it. Sonny says Gage owned the car. Theo wonders how much he could make racing his own car.

Marilyn has met up with Roo near the beach. Roo has explained about meeting Eliza’s last foster family and how they think she burned down the house. Roo protests that Eliza was traumatised by the fire and injured in it. Marilyn gives her the family’s number, saying they know who Marilyn is now, but admits she doesn’t have proof. Roo says the foster family should have protected Eliza.

A short time later, Roo and Eliza arrive at the surf club to see Tane. Eliza says she’s sorry about what she did to the boy (Roo has to remind her he was called Scott) and wants to come back to the programme. Tane accepts the apology but still refuses. Roo tries to stop Eliza pressing the matter but Eliza asks if Harper is scared of Tane. Roo sends Eliza home. Tane says her obsession with the baby isn’t right and something is seriously wrong. Roo looks at the number.

At the Morgan house, Theo insists on giving Sonny half the money, telling him to give it to Remi if he doesn’t want it and that he wouldn’t have been at the track if not for him. He has also texted Lacey to ask about racing his own car. Sonny thinks they should pull out. At Salt, Dana has got drunk from tasting various wines. Abigail says it can’t be hard planning a wedding while going through a break-up. Dana refuses to wallow, but nearly goes back on it when she checks Abigail has a boyfriend and wonders if she’ll ever have that again.

Eliza is on her laptop. Marilyn nervously tries to make conversation, hoping Roo’s all right and prompting Eliza to ask why she wouldn’t be. Roo arrives and tells Eliza to go and work upstairs. She waits for a moment, before telling Marilyn she rang the foster family and they’re pretty convinced: She doesn’t know what to do.

Theo is saying the car will be ready soon. Sonny is more concerned with Theo hooking up with Lacey, saying they know what Gage does to people who cross him. Theo says it’s none of Sonny’s business and Sonny accuses him of having a death wish. Leah and Justin arrive in time to hear the last part as Sonny leaves and demands answers. Theo dismisses it. Justin wonders what happened between Remi and Sonny. Theo tells them about Sonny making a move on Bree. He then gets a text from Lacey saying he’s in and quickly leaves.

Dana is showing a baby scan picture to Abigail and saying it looks like a cute alien. Abigail notes if Levi or Eden have kids she wouldn’t want to be called auntie because she’s not old, prompting Dana to wonder if that makes her old, single and going to die alone. She then notices Sonny has appeared at the bar next to her and just about remembers her name. She assures him the baby photo isn’t hers. They’re preparing to have a drink together when Tane turns up. Dana cuddles up to him but assures Sonny he’s her soon-to-be brother-in-law. Tane takes her out.

Roo tells Marilyn she’s worked hard to gain Eliza’s trust. Eliza comes in and Marilyn bids them good night. Roo sits Eliza down and says she spoke to her old foster family. Eliza realises they told her she started the fire. She says the other kids hated her and thought she was the favourite and blamed her for the fire, suggesting one of them did it. She says the best thing about the fire was never having to see them again and she thought she was lucky being placed with Roo.

Downstairs in the surf club, Tane gets Dana some water and says he’ll take her home. Dana says she was worried about Harper and him getting engaged but Harper said he made her feel safe. She says she can see it now with the way he looked after her and that’s why he’ll be a good husband and Harper loves him. Tane looks slightly uncomfortable.

Marilyn is surprised to find Roo downstairs, having heard Eliza’s music box. Roo thinks she shouldn’t have spoken to Eliza and that the family are wrong about her, given the way Eliza was expecting the accusation. She says Eliza deserves her love and support. Marilyn leaves and is shocked to come across Eliza on the stairs. After a few moments, Eliza wishes her good night and heads back up.
