Extended Summary

Abigail arrives outside the surf club and apologises to Mali for how long she was. She wonders if Theo is still around and Mali says he left. He suggests she play pool with him instead. Theo then appears, saying he went to get a pizza, and asks how things went with Tim, saying Mali told him about him. Abigail says she thought he’d ditched her but she was wrong. They go inside together after Mali excuses himself.

At the Lyrik house, Kirby sees Eden and Tim come back in and notes she didn’t know they had company. Introductions are made and Kirby realises who Tim is. Tim goes out the back to take a work phone call. Eden tells Kirby that Tim isn’t seeing Abigail anymore so there’s no conflict of interests. Kirby is fine with it if Eden’s happy. When Tim comes back in, Kirby heads out to give him and Eden some space.

Theo continues to quiz Abigail as they’re playing pool, wondering how long she’s been seeing Tim and why she dropped everything to see him. Abigail thinks he’s trying to distract her. Kirby turns up and Theo quietly asks why she didn’t tell him that Abigail has a boyfriend, which is news to her. Cash arrives and tries to ask Kirby about who Eden’s seeing. Kirby will only say that his name’s Tim but that’s enough for Theo to say he thought Abigail was seeing Tim and for Abigail to reveal he’s actually her counsellor. Neither Cash nor Abby is impressed.

Eden gets some beers for herself and Tim, saying she’s had a lot of practice at replacing them before Remi gets home. Abigail suddenly turns up and gets the confirmation that they’re together. She cuts off Eden’s attempts to explain, saying she was right that Eden only thinks about herself and they deserve each other. Tim stops Eden going after her, saying they’ll talk to her in the morning and he’ll call Levi and let him know.

Next morning, Justin and Leah find Theo in a pensive mood at the Diner. He says someone lied to him and he’s not sure why. Justin says not all lies are bad but Leah thinks if it’s troubling Theo then the person might not have had a good reason. They advise Theo to ask them. At the police station, Rose throws a paper plane at Cash, saying he hasn’t done anything for fifteen minutes. Cash asks to go out on patrol, saying he doesn’t have the head for paperwork.

Tim and Eden are driving, with Eden on the phone to Levi (who’s at work) and saying they’re on their way to see Abby. Tim turns off and a police car behind signals them to stop. Eden cringes when she sees Cash is in it. He tells Tim that he didn’t indicate when turning and asks to see his license. Tim puts his hand on Eden’s leg while asking her to get him his wallet and Eden looks like she wants the ground to swallow her up.

Later, Cash returns the license, saying it checked out, and Tim will be issued with a notification with a fine and two demerit points. He also insists on breathalysing him, which comes back clear. After he’s gone, Tim wonders what that was about, recalling Cash helping him jump start his car. Eden admits he’s her ex.

Theo turns up at the surf club and asks Kirby when Mali’s in, saying he needs to talk to him. Mali arrives a few moments later and Theo insists on talking. A short time later, Theo asks Mali why he lied. Mali says Abby is working through things and isn’t in the right place to be starting a relationship. Theo thinks that’s her choice but Mali says seeing him would put Abigail back. Theo agrees to back off.

Eden and Tim turn up at the farm house. A few moments later, Abigail appears from out the back and isn’t happy to see them. Eden tries to argue it wasn’t planned and Tim asks to sit and talk but Abigail calls them pathetic, saying Tim wouldn’t have done this if he cared about her, and that she actually felt bad for what she did to Eden but wonders what sort of sick freak does this to her sister. She brushes aside her apologies and tells them to get out. Eden asks how she knew. Abigail says Cash told her and saw them together last night and she’d have thought they’d be more discreet. Eden realises Cash knew before he pulled them over.

Back at the police station, Cash looks at Tim’s details in his notebook (seemingly taken from his license). Rose asks if getting out of the station helped. Cash says he just had a bad night. Eden turns up and has a go at Cash for grilling Tim over nothing, calling it harassment. Rose asks who Tim is and Eden says he’s her boyfriend.

Theo is sitting on his own as Justin turns up and asks if he sorted out his problem. Theo says he did, but it wasn’t what he wanted to hear. He explains he met someone but it’s not going to happen. Abigail turns up in an agitated mood and asks if she and Theo can go somewhere. Justin looks on in bemusement and Kirby and Mali in concern as they leave together.

With Rose and the other officers in the public area of the station, Eden is talking to Cash in the interview room. Cash insists he was doing his job but Eden isn’t convinced that it’s a coincidence that he pulled Tim over and grilled him right after finding out they were together. Cash insists he’s looking out for her. Eden says she did everything she could to save their relationship and now she’s done what he wanted and moved on, so he doesn’t have the right to a say. She walks out of the station, telling him to stay out of her life. Rose tells him to listen to Eden.

Back at the Lyrik house, Tim thinks he should have gone with Eden but Eden thinks that would have made things worse and that Cash shouldn’t bother them again. She thinks Tim should want to run a mile and says he’s the one keeping her sane. Back at the station, Cash waits until he’s alone before entering Tim’s details into the computer. Rose appears and reminds him it’s illegal to use the police database for personal reasons. Cash insists he doesn’t trust Tim. Rose orders him into the interview room.

Kirby approaches Mali on the beach, saying Abigail’s made them a new folder with colour coded dividers, before asking what’s going on. She tells him Theo has the hots for Abby and realises Mali likes her too. Meanwhile, Cash insists to Rose that he needs to know the sort of man that Eden’s seeing. Rose says it doesn’t work like that and Eden has the right to date who she likes after Cash broke up with her. Cash snaps that he didn’t make that sacrifice so someone else can stuff up her life.
