Extended Summary
Cash pulls up in his driveway. He sees Eden heading home and approaches her, confirming he’s just finished a night shift. They make awkward small talk for a bit before she says she has to head to work and he says he has to go home and sleep. Meanwhile, Mackenzie tries to convince Levi that Abby is just trying to scare him. Levi says she’s succeeding. He wonders if Mali could talk to her but Mackenzie quickly shuts that one down, saying it’s too big an ask. The only other possibility they can think of is Tim and Levi isn’t sure he’ll answer his calls after he punched him. Mackenzie suggests asking Eden to ask Tim to talk to Abigail.
Mali finds Abigail working at the board shop and notices she’s in a subdued mood. She says Levi’s on her case about counselling. Mackenzie comes past and greets her but Abigail doesn’t answer. Mali tries to suggest Abigail go back to counselling as well but she insists it’s sorted. Theo appears and asks if Abigail will have a break soon so they can play pool. Mali awkwardly says there’s still unpacking to do but Abigail says they won’t be long.
Eden exits home and finds Levi waiting there. She makes a comment about him punching Tim. Levi says he needs to talk to her boyfriend and Eden says she and Tim have broken up. Levi is confused, with Eden being equally confused to hear Tim dropped Abigail as a client. Levi explains about needing to get her to see another counsellor and eventually decides to call Tim himself.
Theo continues to loiter around waiting while he and Abigail shoot each other looks. Abigail tries to get information from Mali about Theo. Mali awkwardly says Theo isn’t a player and is cool, but has trouble answering whether he’d be into her, eventually saying she’s got enough going on. Abigail says she’s allowed some fun and calls him “Dad” before going to join Theo. Meanwhile, Cash is lying awake in bed before eventually making a decision and getting dressed.
At Salt, Mackenzie asks Eden if Levi found her. Eden says she didn’t know Tim would drop Abigail as a client and assumed he would keep seeing her after she ended things. Mackenzie says she’s not judging. Cash turns up and asks Eden if they can get past the awkwardness. Eden says she’d like to avoid him but Cash suggests they could be friends. Eden reminds him they should be planning their wedding and says the answer’s no. Not long after, Mackenzie finds Cash out on the balcony. Cash says he was trying to do the right thing. Mackenzie says he can’t break Eden’s heart and then ask to be friends.
Tim turns up at the farm house where Levi apologises for hitting him. Tim asks what this is about and Levi tells him that Abigail has refused to see any of the counsellors Tim suggested to her or any of the ones that Levi himself has found. He shows Tim the scribbled out journal and asks him to talk to her. Meanwhile, Cash leaves Salt watched by Eden. Mackenzie joins her and Eden wonders if she should have handled it better. Mackenzie tells her Cash was out of line and also promises that Cash doesn’t know about Tim. Eden says she needs Cash to be in the past.
Theo tells Abigail the loser buys lunch which she takes as him inviting her to lunch. She then gets a call from Tim and heads off to take it. Theo approaches Mali wondering if Tim is Abigail’s boyfriend. Mali indicates that he is. Abigail comes back and says she has to go. She borrows the van from Mali to head home.
Abigail finds Levi and Tim waiting for her. Levi says he’s tapping out and backing off, leaving them to it. Abigail says she’s not going to beg for Tim to come back as her counsellor and wonders why he’s there. Tim says dropping her wasn’t personal and he wants to know why she doesn’t seem to want to get her life back on track. Levi listens at the door for a minute before leaving.
Cash is sitting outside the surf club and sees Eden up on the balcony at Salt. Levi joins him and Cash explains about asking Eden to be friends. Levi knows she wouldn’t have gone for that and Cash asks where he was half an hour ago. Levi says Eden knows how to hold grudges, recalling how she didn’t talk to him for ten years. Cash doesn’t want to be in that club.
Abigail is telling Tim that she threw the journal out because she thinks she’s a lost cause and that’s why Tim couldn’t be bothered with her. Tim says there’s a lot of reasons he couldn’t carry on working with her and none of them are about who she is. He says he’s found a woman who’s a great fit and if that doesn’t work out they’ll try another one.
At Salt, Levi gets a text and smiles. After some questioning from Mackenzie and Eden, he says Tim came through and Abigail’s booked in with a counsellor. Eden leaves as Mali turns up to see Mackenzie. He tells her he lied to Theo about Abigail having a boyfriend. He first claims it was because Theo doesn’t know what she’s been through and he was looking out for her, then admits he just doesn’t want them hooking up.
Eden has called Tim over to see her. She thanks him for helping Abby but wonders why he didn’t tell her he’d dropped her as a client. Tim thought Abigail would tell her and Eden says Levi told her today. Tim says it was the right thing to do and they couldn’t uncross the line. He asks what happens now.
Cash is sitting at home and tries to text Eden, then changes his mind and instead grabs some beers from the fridge. He goes across the road and knocks on the door but doesn’t get an anwer, so goes round the back where (unnoticed by them) he sees Eden and Tim kissing. He doesn’t look happy.
