Extended Summary

Kirby is finishing off a class on the beach. Mali appears and says he needs to catch up on board orders. Kirby isn’t keen on him leaving her to run everything alone. Abigail approaches them and Mali recalls that she had her first group counselling session. Abigail admits she’s worried about boredom so Mali offers her a job at the shop, to Kirby’s shock.

Mali takes Abgail back to the surf club where she recalls working the front desk at the funeral parlour. She checks Kirby will be on the beach. Mali goes to get the paperwork. Remi turns up and finds Bree, who confirms she got kicked out and tells him not to say “I told you so”. Abigail taunts him but he isn’t in the mood.

Bree and Remi go back to the Lyrik house. Bree says her job is on the line. Remi says she doesn’t need to throw fuel on the fire and suggests she does see a counsellor after all. Bree insists the issue is Levi costing her her career and says Remi might be happy playing guitar but some of them have to work at it. Outside the surf club, Levi is surprised to see Abigail working with Mali. Abigail tells him she doesn’t think the group therapy is for her. Levi suggests one-on-one but agrees to leave it for the moment. He then greets Alf, who messaged him to meet him there and says he has questions.

Dana and Xander arrive at the Diner. Dana believes Perri is innocent but worries that him being missing will cause trouble for Tane and that if Rose keeps going after him then Harper will be left alone and pregnant. Meanwhile, Alf asks Levi about Abigail before asking for information on the hospital. Levi says that Alf was in a bad way when he came in but they were confident, only for him to deteriotate rapidly. He admits things should have been done that weren’t.

Bree comes back in and apologises to Remi. She wonders if she should go and apologise to Levi but Remi advises letting things settle. Bree points out they didn’t eat at Salt and asks him to go out for food. Meanwhile, at Salt, Mackenzie is fretting that she hasn’t heard back about the loan. Xander apologises for giving her a hard time about going for it without him, saying he’s cool with it now. Levi comes in and admits he doesn’t feel great about what he said to Alf. He is starting to wonder if he and Bree should have sorted it out among themselves but Mackenzie says Bree wasn’t going to listen.

Alf exits the house with his bag, takes a look around, then gets in his vehicle and drives away. At the surf club, Dana is surprised to see Abigail working with Mali. The pair are introduced and Dana comments on how John will be pleased she got the paperwork done. Mali announces that Kirby will be in charge while he’s handling the board orders. Kirby tells Abigail to get into uniform and then make a start on the invoices but instead Abigail announces she’s taking her break.

Levi arrives home but finds Bree isn’t there. He gives her a call, hoping she hasn’t done something stupid. As he could have predicted, Bree has gone to the farm house to talk to Levi. Levi is reluctant to get into it but lets her in. Bree says she understands Levi was only worried about patient safety and asks him to retract the report. Levi however feels that she still doesn’t understand what she did wrong. Bree gets increasingly desperate, insisting that medicine is her life. Levi says he’s not going to forget what happened.

At Salt, Abgail is telling Mackenzie and Xander about her new job. Kirby comes up and gives Abigail her uniform before saying the break’s over. Abigail tells the other how Eden once promised to give her and her friends a makeover on her birthday, but she didn’t get back in time because Kirby stopped at a bar on the way home. Kirby gives up and leaves as Abigail orders another drink.

Kirby heads outside where she runs into Dana. She says Abigail’s an issue but admits she was just as bad when she started. Bree approaches and Dana reminds her that she said she didn’t want anything to do with her. After Kirby’s gone, Bree asks if Dana has been asked to give a statement about Alf and can say she was taking good care of him. Dana points out she wasn’t there at the crucial moment but thinks Bree’s asking her to lie. Bree snaps that Dana has no idea what she’s talking about.

At the farm house, Levi is looking over things for the tribunal. Mackenzie warns Mali he might need to keep an eye on things with Kirby and Abigail. She gets a text approving her loan. They see a news report about the search for Perri. Mackenzie notes Tane must be worried. At the surf club, Kirby tries to clear the air with Abigail but Abigail just wants to get on with the invoices. Remi comes in and finds Bree, saying she keeps saying one thing and doing another. Bree says she wants space. Abigail can’t resist another dig at Remi, leaving Kirby unimpressed.

Up in Salt, Dana has told Xander about what Bree said. Xander is sympathetic and Dana admits she doesn’t trust Bree right now. She’s also worried that Harper is still looking for Perri. Outside, Kirby stops Abigail and challenges her about her attitude to Remi. Mali comes along as Kirby is trying to tell Abigail to keep things to herself while at work. Mali comes along in time to hear the end of the conversation and is left looking frustrated.
