Extended Summary

Harper is standing staring out to sea. Xander and Dana approach, talking among themselves. Dana apologises for not staying over but Xander understands that she needed to be there for Harper and notes she doesn’t seem to be any closer to telling Tane about the baby. As they reach Harper, Dana notes she went out early and suggests they go for breakfast and coffee at Salt. Harper declines, saying she’ll see her later. At the farm house, Tane comes back in to find Mackenzie there and notes at least they both got to say goodbye to Felicity. Perri comes in as they’re hugging. Tane convinces him to sit down and have breakfast, saying he’ll go into work with him.

Cash is still sitting in his room. Eden joins him and gets a text from Levi saying he’s thinking of her. She offers to get Cash anything, as well as suggesting he call Gary. Instead, he goes into Felicity’s room and starts taking the clothes down from the racks, saying everything has to go. Meanwhile, Tane asks Mackenzie about going into work, asking her what Felicity would say. Mackenzie says she’d call her a mess. Tane thinks she’d want her to keep going. Mackenzie leaves and Tane thanks Perri for encouraging him to go see Felicity.

At Salt, Dana is telling Xander that she can’t make Harper tell Tane. Xander thinks it’s weird that he knows before Tane does. Dana points out that Xander wasn’t meant to know. Mackenzie turns up as Dana leaves. She gets a call from the bakery supplier, Ron, who has heard about Felicity. She struggles to give details and Xander takes over.

Dana arrives home and finds Harper looking at the ultrasound video. Dana points out that Harper has said Tane would be happy about the baby. Harper says it’s not the right time. Dana argues that it might be what he needs. Harper replies that it’s not what she needs, and she’ll tell Tane when it’s the right moment for her, not when he’s upset and struggling.

Eden tries to convince Cash that he might regret getting rid of everything. Cash insists he has to but is brought up short when he finds an old photo album. He sits down, gesturing to a photo of them as children and saying it was Felicity’s birthday and she’d been crying because she ran out onto the veranda and fell off.

Mackenzie is preoccupied by a text from Levi saying he’ll be home by lunchtime. A customer clicks her fingers at her to get her attention, saying she wants to pay. Mackenzie is incensed and Xander steps in, taking the payment. He convinces Mackenzie that it doesn’t feel right being open and they agree to close for the day.

Cash has moved into the front room. Eden goes to answer the door and finds a man there with a delivery for Felicity. Eden takes the rack of clothes and finds it’s full of dresses, recalling how she borrowed some dresses for Felicity to try on and noting that she was returning the favour. She tries to get Cash to call Gary but he says he can’t.

Dana continues to query Harper about not telling Tane. Harper says it was a one night stand that Tane’s tried to distance himself from and his wife’s just died (Dana tries to argue she was his ex-wife). Harper says she doesn’t want Tane to feel obligated. Dana doesn’t think he’d feel like that but eventually suggests that they go for lunch.

Tane and Perri arrive at the surf club. Perri gets a call from a number he doesn’t recognise and Tane says it’s probably scammers. Mackenzie and Xander come downstairs and Tane goes to talk to them while Perri takes the stuff into the gym. Mackenzie says she couldn’t keep going and Tane understands. Xander decides to go upstairs and clean up, saying it’s better when no-one’s about.

Eden again broaches the subject of Gary with Cash. Cash doesn’t want to call him, since he’d have to explain how Gary missed out on a chance to say goodbye because Cash spent days sat at the hospital, wasting time and pretending it wasn’t happening. He asks Eden to leave it alone.

Mackenzie and Tane walk away from the surf club, with her saying Levi should be there waiting for her when she gets home. She walks on and leaves Tane to talk to Cash, who is sat on a park bench. Tane asks about Gary and Cash admits he hasn’t told him. Tane says it has to be done and it’ll be worse the longer he leaves it.

Not too far away, Harper and Dana get a message from Xander that Salt’s closed and decide to head to the Diner. They run into Perri, who says he and Mackenzie have been looking out for Tane. He gets another call from the unknown number and finds it’s his dad. Harper says he doesn’t have to speak to him but Perri goes on talking.

Eden pushes the rack of dresses into an empty bedroom. Cash arrives back and she apologises but he says she was right. He declines her offer to stay while he talks to Gary so she waits outside. Cash makes the call, telling Gary it’s not about the engagement and asking where he is before saying there’s bad news about Felicity.

At the surf club, Harper approaches Tane and tells him about Perri getting the call from his dad and how he seemed scared to not answer. Xander walks past as Tane says that Perri’s dad should keep away from him and Harper says it’s Perri’s decision. Before Tane can go and look for him, Perri turns up, acting as though nothing’s happened.

Xander meets Dana at the coffee cart and tells her about seeing Harper and Tane together, thinking she was telling him about the baby. Dana realises she was telling him about Perri and says they have to respect that Harper will tell him in her own time. Xander is sceptical, pointing out she’s always got an excuse. Dana says she has to go.

Tane approaches Perri at the gym. Perri tries to put him off but admits his dad called him on someone else’s phone. Tane asks what he wanted and Perri says nothing good.
