Extended Summary

Dana is still trying to get away from Xander, who notes she left in a hurry that morning and he wanted to make her breakfast. He tries to ask her if she thinks what happened between them was a mistake. Before Dana can answer, Rose arrives home and Dana takes the opportunity to duck past her and leave. Meanwhile, Mali arrives home and tells Mackenzie that Rose is going to be staying over. Mackenzie is bothered by the fact that she still hasn’t heard from Levi. Mali suggests she call him and Mackenzie reminds him she’s not supposed to call Levi when he’s with his wife. Mali doesn’t think that applies anymore. Mackenzie does call Levi, who is at home and explains Imogen’s flight keeps getting delayed: She now won’t be in until the morning.

Tane and Felicity are at Salt. Tane recalls how prison changed Ari and thinks he’s going to prison whatever he does. He decides to go downstairs to close the gym, saying work takes his mind off things. Felicity hugs him goodbye. Meanwhile, Xander has filled Rose in on him and Dana. She thinks he shouldn’t have led her on knowing she likes him. Xander says he didn’t and thinks he likes her. They are stopped from discussing it further by Mali arriving to pick up Rose.

Next morning, Felicity and Eden arrive at Salt to find Mackenzie working there. Although Felicity tries to stop her, Eden walks up to Mackenzie and asks if she’s heard from “my cheating brother”. She says she thought Mackenzie was her friend. Mackenzie tries to say it was nothing to do with Eden, but Eden calls her a homewrecker. Felicity calls time-out and suggests Mackenzie go. Eden tells her to run and hide. Meanwhile, Levi meets Imogen outside the house as a taxi drops her off. They make small talk for a bit before Levi says there’s something they need to talk about. Imogen, who seems keen to avoid said conversation, says she needs a shower first and will be his in 15 minutes.

Harper and Dana storm into the Diner. Harper protests that she only told Xander that she left her phone at his place and would have stopped her if she’d known she was going to break in. Dana tries to argue that it’s not breaking in if it’s unlocked and Harper sarcastically says it’s a good job Xander’s sister’s not a cop. Irene and John watch the argument and John tries to intercede but gets death-glared. Xander arrives and blocks Dana’s attempt to leave, saying they didn’t finish their talk.

Xander and Dana go for a walk on the beach where Xander says he was disappointed to find Dana gone. Dana says she has a history of jumping in and making a mess of things. Xander says he likes her and checks she still likes him. He notes they have a solid friendship but what they did was beyond the friend zone, so wonders if they’re more than friends. Dana responds by kissing him.

Felicity catches up to Eden outside the surf club, saying Eden left without saying goodbye. Eden apologises for causing a scene and says she needs to clear her head. Tane appears and asks Felicity what’s going on, guessing it’s about Levi. Felicity says she wondered if he knew. Tane goes to take a class. Harper arrives, having been summoned by Felicity. Felicity wonders if there’s a chance Tane could avoid prison, saying he didn’t know the mother had come forward. Harper agrees but says Tane isn’t talking to his lawyer. Felicity says they’ll have to help him then. Harper says Tane told her to stay out of it. Felicity says he told her the same but she’s ignoring it.

At the farm house, Rose and Mali are getting cosy in the kitchen, suggesting taking breakfast back to bed and staying there until lunchtime. Mackenzie comes home unexpectedly and asks to borrow Mali. Rose protests that they’re just having breakfast. Mackenzie snipes that she didn’t know she had to make an appointment, then apologises. Mali convinces Rose to give them a moment and Rose heads back to the bedroom alone.

Imogen comes down to join Levi and tries to busy herself making breakfast instead of getting into a conversation. Levi tells her they need to talk and she stops. She tells him Eden told her he was staying away because of children. Levi says it’s nothing to do with that…he’s been seeing someone, not a therapist as Imogen suggests but an affair, and is leaving her. Meanwhile, Xander and Dana are in bed back at his flat. Dana quips that she remembers this place. Xander checks if she’s worried about their friendship and Dana replies that they’re way past that.

Levi follows Imogen outside and apologises. Imogen demands to know how long it’s been going on and Levi eventually admits it’s been a few months. He refuses to say who it is however, saying it’s about him and Imogen, not her. Imogen says there is no them, and tells him to pack his bags and get out. Back at the farm house, Mackenzie has filled Mali in about her run-in with Eden, who she notes has only just started to trust Levi and get to know Imogen. She also reveals Levi still hasn’t called her. Rose comes through, having got dressed, and says she’s going. Mackenzie tells Mali to go after her rather than sit there waiting for a phone call.

Imogen is sitting on her own as Levi comes downstairs. He leaves his bags by the door and goes over to her, saying he can’t leave her like this. Imogen is unimpressed, saying him apologising is meaningless. She tells him it’s not his home anymore so to get out, opening the door for him. Levi reluctantly leaves as she quietly sobs.

At the Diner, Irene serves Eden and asks her about Cash and Levi. On the latter, Eden says she hasn’t heard from him. Irene serves a similarly morose Rose next. Mali comes in and Rose is suddenly eager to make conversation with Irene in order to make a point about not dropping everything for him. Irene excuses herself and Mali tells Rose he’s going to tell her everything. Meanwhile, Mackenzie is alone at home when Levi turns up with his bags. Mackenzie goes over to him and hugs him.
