Eden is a support for Imogen. Levi struggles. Theo takes surprising steps in his recovery.
Extended Summary
Eden arrives home and answers a call from Imogen, who has deduced that she was Levi’s alibi and the visits to her were a cover for his affair. She also accuses her of making up the story about him not wanting children. Eden tries to explain but Imogen hangs up. At the farm house, Levi is berating himself for the things he said to Imogen. Mackenzie says she’s sorry and Levi apologises for turning up and dumping it on her.
At the Diner flat, Mali has filled Rose in on Mackenzie and Levi’s affair, saying it’s been going on for months. Rose apologises for giving him a hard time. Mali isn’t sure how Mackenzie will feel about him telling her. Rose offers to pretend she doesn’t know but Mali thinks there’s been enough secrets. He asks if he’s out of her bad books and they kiss.
At the Diner, Marilyn leaves a phone message for Roo. She has let Alf’s tea get cold and expresses concern to him that Roo isn’t answering, thinking she hasn’t been herself since she visited Sonia and the baby. Justin and Theo come in. Leah asks Theo how his first counselling session went and Theo says it was fine, then walks off to a table. Justin quietly tells Leah that Theo didn’t talk much in the car and he didn’t want to push it, suggesting she might have better luck.
At the farm house, Mackenzie tries to suggest Levi have a shower and unpack or she makes him something to eat. Levi wants to call Imogen. Mackenzie thinks it’s not a good idea and Levi says he’ll text her instead. Mackenzie tries to convince him to give her space. Levi snaps at her not to tell him how to handle his marriage. He apologise and says he’ll get some air.
Eden goes to see Imogen, who tells her she’s not welcome there. Eden stops the door swinging closed and follows her in. Imogen tells her to get out. Eden explains that the story about not wanting children was what Levi told her when she wondered why he was lying about being with her, and she didn’t know about the affair until a few days ago. Imogen asks why she should believe her and Eden says she’d happily never see Levi again. Imogen breaks down in tears and Eden comforts her.
Leah and Theo walk through a park area. Leah tells Theo that she’s there if he needs to talk. Theo says talking to the psychologist about how his drug taking started caused him to realise he was stressed and over-worked. Leah notes that’s often been a problem for him. Theo says he’s got some big decisions to make.
Imogen asks Eden for some straight answers, wondering who the women is. Eden admits Imogen met her when she came to the Bay, asking if she remembers Mackenzie, the owner of Salt. Imogen recalls she was Levi’s patient, she invited them up to the restaurant for a conversation and she’s Eden’s friend. Eden says not anymore.
Rose suggests she and Mali do something that afternoon. Mali agrees but is distracted checking his phone for calls from Mackenzie. Rose convinces him to go and see her. Back at the farm house, Levi comes back inside. He apologises for snapping. Mackenzie says she doesn’t know what it’s like to end a marriage. Levi says it’s not great but he doesn’t regret it. Mackenzie suggests he put his bags away. Mali arrives and, without really acknowledging Levi, asks Mackenzie if they can talk. Levi takes the bags to the room as Mackenzie tells Mali that Levi told Imogen about them and broke things off, so he’ll be staying for a bit. As Mali tells her that Rose knows, Levi sends Imogen a text asking her to tell him she’s okay.
Imogen receives the text and wonders if she should reply to it or call him. Eden wants her to ignore it, saying Levi’s asking for his sake, not hers. Imogen suggests that some marriages can survive this kind of thing. Eden says a lot don’t and Imogen deserves better than Levi. Imogen puts the phone down. Eden tells her she’s not going to be alone.
Mali meets up with Rose down on the beach and is surprised to find she has two surf boards with her. He tells her about Levi being at the house and that he feels he was in the way there. Rose reminds him that he told her she needed to get back on the board and says that after this they can get dinner and go clubbing. They head out onto the water together.
Marilyn continues to fret to Alf that she hasn’t heard from Roo since breakfast. Alf doesn’t think it’s a big deal, saying Roo said she’d go out somewhere in the afternoon although he didn’t ask where. Justin comes in and Leah tells him what Theo said, suspecting he’s going to need to drop something. Justin suspects he’ll lose his apprentice again so Theo can focus on his music.
Mackenzie gets Levi a bowl of some sort of dessert, saying it’s all she had and suspecting he hasn’t eaten all day. They hear a vehicle outside and assume it’s Mali or Tane coming home. In fact, it’s Eden who tells Levi to stop contacting Imogen. Levi says he’s her husband and Eden says he isn’t anymore, and she’ll be looking after Imogen, just like she did their mum when their dad left. Eden leaves and Mackenzie suggests to Levi that it might be best to let Eden take care of Imogen, while she takes care of him.
Leah, Justin and Theo are eating together at Salt. Theo isn’t in the mood for talking but Justin presses on, even though Theo says he only agreed to Leah talking to Justin so he didn’t have to. Justin says it’s fine if he needs to drop his commitments at the garage and Leah says it’s fine if he wants to give up TAFE. Theo ends up walking away from the table. Meanwhile, Alf and Marilyn arrive home and find no sign of Roo. Alf suggests she’s gone to bed early. Marilyn says she’d have left the lights on and a note. Alf admits it’s getting late as Marilyn stresses they don’t know where Roo is or when she’s coming back.
Justin joins Theo on the balcony and asks if he’s coming back in. Theo apologises for walking out. Justin says that Theo can tell him where he went wrong or he can leave him alone. Theo says that Justin does most of the work at the garage while fronting Lyrik has a lot more responsibility with rehearsals, publicity and song writing: He needs to walk away from the band.
