Episode 8114

Extended Summary

Cash and Tane run into each other near the beach. Tane wonders where Cash has been lately. Cash says he’s been working and he thought Tane and Felicity could do with space. At that moment, Felicity pulls up in a car. Cash protests that she’s not supposed to be driving. Felicity says she’s got her license back, showing him a card that he admits looks legit. She says she’s learned her lesson after getting fed up of having to get lifts from people.

Later, Cash is just getting dressed for work when Tane and Felicity come home. Felicity excitedly offers to give him a lift. After Cash has gone, Tane tells Felicity he has a proposal for her, wondering if they should take the next step now they’re married. He starts talking about seeing his baby cousins in New Zealand. Felicity tenses up and pretends she’s got a message on her phone about a crisis at Salt, hurrying off.

Remi finds Eden sitting in the grounds and wonders what she’s thinking. Eden says she didn’t realise she had that much resentment inside her and doesn’t want to be that person. Remi understands but refuses to rip up the song, saying this was their one last chance to save the band. Eden calls it emotional blackmail. Remi calls it truth. Meanwhile, Kirby arrives back at the flat and finds the board with a note from Mackenzie, excitedly unwrapping it. Forrest turns up and she explains the board is a gift from a friend. Forrest notes they have a lot to get through after their drive from the city.

At the police station, Cash tells Harper that they don’t know who’s working with Madden so he’s asked the anti-corruption unit to open a case against him. Harper says they can prove a connection between Madden and Ollie. Cash takes her into the interview room for a private chat and points out they can’t use the voicemail as evidence because it incriminates Harper. He has a meeting next week and they’ve got time as long as no-one knows where Dana is.

At that moment, Irene is at the Diner talking over Marilyn and Roo’s falling out with Alf, having learned some of it from Leah. She says she’ll go and see Roo. Harper arrives and is shocked to see Irene there, asking if she’s been home. Irene offers her a lift in a bit but Harper says she’ll head home now because she has something she needs to do.

Eden joins Remi inside the house and says she’s not giving up but she’s not sure she can finish the song. They are interrupted by Felicity suddenly appearing at the door, declaring she missed them and asking them to show her around. Meanwhile, Tane runs into Alf outside the surf club and wonders if he’s seen Felicity, explaining that she was supposed to be sorting out a problem at Salt but the staff there haven’t seen her. He guesses she’ll turn up sooner or later.

Harper dashes home and tells Dana that Irene’s back. They try to clean the house but Irene turns up at the back door seconds later and Dana quickly ducks into the bedroom with as many takeaway boxes as she can carry. Irene notes there’s a lot of dirty dishes for one person and Harper says she had a small dinner party last night and came home to clean up. She explains the blinds being drawn as keeping the heat out.

Kirby is on the phone to Mackenzie thanking her for the board, saying she’s already left Mali a message. Forrest, who was looking a bit restless during the chat, notes she needn’t worry about losing friends when she’s got plenty. Kirby says Remi and Eden are more like family. Forrest shows her the schedule on his laptop and says they need photos for the launch. Kirby suggests her friend Minnie but Forrest already has a photography team and a studio booked.

Felicity continues to gush over the holiday home until Eden wonders why she’s there. Felicity admits Bree told her where they were and they wonders if Tane knows where she is. Felicity blurts out that he doesn’t want kids and thinks that’s what his talk about next steps and baby cousins was about. She suggests Remi and Eden are hiding out as well. Eden asks Remi to tell Felicity to go home but instead Remi decides they all should.

Cash is on the phone to the anti-corruption unit at home when Madden turns up. Madden notes he’s been following up leads and witnesses and that unlike Cash, he knows how to secure evidence. He says as soon as he can prove Cash knows where Dana is, Cash will be in a prison cell. Cash replies that he’ll see Madden there. This gives Madden pause for a moment before he tells Cash to tread carefully.

Harper asks Irene about her trip and the babies. Cash suddenly arrives and notices Irene’s presence. He says he needs to speak to Harper, so Irene goes to visit Roo. Dana joins them and Cash and Harper tell her about the anti-corruption plan; Cash has tried to get an earlier meeting without success. He also tells them about Madden’s visit. Harper thinks they need to get Dana out of there, especially with Irene home, but Cash tells them not to act until his meeting.

Felicity pulls up near the surf club with Eden, suggesting they have a drink at Salt first before she has to see Tane. This immediately falls apart when Tane turns up. Eden refuses to corroborate Felicity’s alibi of needing her support but Felicity manages to avoid Tane and head up to Salt anyway.

Felicity, Eden and Remi share a drink at Salt. Kirby turns up and asks how they are. Felicity answers, with the others ignoring her. Kirby suggests a meal and Felicity goes to get some menus. Remi finally notes that Bree told them about Kirby not knowing about the copyright but asks what she’s done about it now she does know. Kirby looks somewhat flummoxed and says the label’s pretty strict about that sort of thing. Eden accuses her of not wanting to go against the hand that feeds her. Kirby leaves and Eden tells Remi she’s going to finish the song now before she changes her mind. They briefly encounter Cash on the way out, who is bemused that they’re still working on the song. Outside, Kirby encounters Forrest, who gives her some words of encouragement, saying she’ll look sophisticated and elegant in the photos. Nearby, Felicity finally talks to Tane and learns what his plan is: He wants to move to New Zealand.

Irene is bringing some washing downstairs when Madden comes to the door and asks to see Harper, entering uninvited. Harper is in the bedroom with Dana and emerges. Madden tries to insist Harper come down the station with him and, when Irene intercedes, says it’s none of her concern. Irene says it is, because it’s her house. She tells Madden to leave if he hasn’t got a warrant and he reluctantly does so.

Later, Irene tries to question Harper about it, suggesting they ask the person hiding in the bedroom. Harper tries to deny it but Irene opens the bedroom door to reveal Dana and asks for an explanation.
