Will Cash throw Dana to the wolves? Justin fights for Theo’s music career. Bree makes Remi a generous offer.
Extended Summary
Remi and Bree are sat at the coffee cart, with Remi lamenting what the lawyer said and the fact it means the end of Lyrik. They see Kirby in the distance and Bree encourages Remi to talk to her, even if they can’t talk about Lyrik, but Remi isn’t keen. Meanwhile, Justin chases Theo through a park area. He tries to get him to at least play the guitar, pointing out he used to enjoy it before he was in Lyrik, but Theo isn’t keen, saying it’s just a reminder that he lost his career.
Cash is angry that Harper has been hiding Dana, saying she’s risked them all ending up in jail. He also notes no-one told him about her prior drug charge and wants to arrest her. Harper wonders why he came over in the first place. Cash explains about Madden’s visit and agrees it’s suspicious that he doesn’t want Cash on the case but also thinks Dana’s best bet is to fight the charges. Harper tries to convince him to turn a blind eye to her being there while Dana says he’s like all the others. Cash tells Dana to get her things before he has to put her in handcuffs.
Kirby has met with Forrest at Salt. She says she has three songs finished, two more she’s working on, and other ideas. Forrest says it was obviously a good idea to stay in the Bay and work. He asks if Lyrik are still giving her a hard time and Kirby tells him about moving out. Although she still feels attached to Lyrik, she confirms a solo career is what she wants.
Remi complains to Bree that Kirby has killed the band and left them unemployed. He gets a text from Eden about going away with Felicity and is annoyed about her timing. Bree convinces him it might be a good thing and says she’s going home for a shower, suggesting he joins her.
Harper tries to convince Cash to let them leave town but Cash says her best bet is to call a lawyer. Dana encourages Harper to leave so she’s kept out of it but Harper insists she’s staying. Harper says Cash should arrest her too if he’s going by the book and he’s throwing Dana to the wolves. Dana tells her to leave it and goes with Cash.
As they get in the car outside, Cash tries to convince Dana it’s for the best but Dana says he’s handing her over to the cop who set her up. She says the so-called previous charge was party drugs and she got a bond. However, she admits she was on her way to being an addict and the arrest was a wake-up call; Harper helped her straighten herself out and she went to uni and became a nurse, and now she’s going to lose it all. Cash drives off. Inside the house, Harper phones someone requesting a defence lawyer.
Justin meets up with Kirby by the beach and asks her how things have been going with Forrest. Kirby says he’s been very supportive. Justin says everyone has the right to follow their dream. He goes home and tries to convince Theo to do something other than play video games. Remi turns up and suggests they go and see Kirby together to go and strike a deal. Justin says it’ll just make things worse and Theo doesn’t think it’s worth it. Remi leaves, frustrated. Justin tells Theo they’re not back at square one.
Justin runs into Forrest outside the surf club. Forrest thinks Justin’s trying to get him to change his mind again but Justin says he has a business proposal for him and asks him to meet him for dinner. Meanwhile, Harper is shocked when Cash brings Dana back, having changed his mind. He says Madden’s behaviour raised some flags so he’ll keep working the case under the radar. He asks Dana to help him fill in the blanks.
Remi complains to Bree about Justin not wanting to do anything. Bree suggests she could at least cover the household costs until the band gets back on its feet, pointing out they’ve got rent, food, utilities, petrol and WiFi. Remi refuses. Meanwhile, Theo is shocked when he and Justin arrive at Salt to find they’re meeting Forrest. Justin explains his idea is for Theo to become a solo artist, with Justin managing him for free under Forrest’s guidance. Forrest notes Theo is quiet and Theo says he wasn’t expecting this. Forrest recalls how Theo froze during the Q&A session but Justin insists he can be coached.
Bree challenges Remi again, saying she’s part of the household and he can’t let his male pride get in the way. Remi eventually accepts her offer and suggests they go out for dinner. Back at Salt, Theo has relaxed somewhat. He and Justin discuss the fact he’s both a singer and a guitarist with Forrest and go into his history as a mechanic and his prank video channel. Remi and Bree turn up and see them chatting.
