Bree cannot trust Remi. Lyrik strike a big win. Irene’s generosity is wearing thin. Andrew’s paranoia grows.

Extended Summary

Remi comes back into the house. Bree says she can explain and asks what Mercedes said. Remi says that Bree had a problem with her. Bree says she’s fed up of Mercedes coming between them. Remi calls her paranoid. Kirby comes out of her room and sarcastically asks if she was snoring too loud. Remi says not now and she retreats. Bree immediately leaves as well.

Irene and John arrive at the coffee cart. Irene asks if John is okay walking home on his own but John doesn’t intend to leave. He thanks her for letting him stay and notes the company makes him feel better, then winces in pain. Irene suggests he sit down. He does…by dragging a chair over to the kiosk and sitting there, before ordering a coffee (flat white, not too hot) and eyeing up the cake.

At the Morgan house, Theo looks on with some concern at Andrew glued to the laptop watching the security cameras. He voices this to Justin. Justin thinks that it’s better than carrying a knife around but Theo doesn’t think by much. He suggests Andrew go down the beach with him and Justin agrees but Andrew thinks the cult will strike when they let their guard down.

Mercedes tells Remi she saw Bree leave and suggests they go to the meeting. However, Remi wants to sort things out with Bree. Kirby pokes her head round the corner and is told about the meeting. Mercedes says Remi can either comfort his insecure girlfriend or take a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Remi makes his choice: He goes to see Bree. She knows he should be at the meeting but Remi thinks he has time to do both. He tells her she has no need to be threatened. Bree says Mercedes told her that they had nothing in common and suspects she’s right. Remi says he’d be bored dating someone like himself. He assures Bree this is it for him. They kiss and hug.

Kirby has got dressed and, on seeing Mercedes there, guesses Remi isn’t back. Mercedes is surprised Bree let him miss the meeting. Kirby says they have something crazy special. Mercedes notes Remi’s changed: He used to go with anyone that would have him. Kirby says Mercedes must be disappointed. Mercedes looks defensive for a second until Kirby explains she meant about missing the meeting. Mercedes says she can’t go on her own since she can’t represent Lyrik. Kirby convinces her to let her go with her instead.

Andrew remains glued to the cameras. Justin is as concerned as Theo but tells him to go to the beach on his own. As Theo prepares to leave the house, Andrew goes into a panic, saying someone’s outside. Justin and Theo see it’s Alf and assure Andrew he’s a friend, letting him in. Alf notes he heard Justin had had some trouble and thought he’d check in. He is introduced to Andrew, who only reluctantly shakes Alf’s hand when Justin gives him a nod. Alf says he doesn’t bite.

John is bending Irene and Leah’s ears, talking about his time off and how the surf club is probably falling apart. Irene says she can’t babysit him and suggests he go home to rest. She offers to walk him. John says he can manage on his own and also won’t text her when he gets there. Theo turns up and expresses his concerns to Leah about Andrew and the security cameras.

Bree is more relaxed but still thinks Mercedes has a thing for Remi. Remi isn’t convinced but says it’s not a threat if she is. He admits he’s missed the meeting but thinks Mercedes would have handled it. He offers to talk to her but Bree says his reassurance is enough. He gets a text from Kirby saying she went to the meeting but not saying how it went. Meanwhile, Kirby and Mercedes pull up on the driveway, impressed by the meeting with Rueben, although they haven’t got a clear answer yet. Mercedes comments on Remi seeing his “needy girlfriend” instead. Kirby wonders what it was about, saying they’re usually solid.

Justin has filled Alf in on what happened, saying the police caught two of the cult and the ringsleaders are on remand. Alf says he wishes he could say the same about Stunning Organics. Leah and Theo arrive back as Alf is leaving and Andrew makes a point of closing the door. Leah takes Justin into the bedroom and tells him this isn’t helping Andrew. Justin already agrees. Leah wonders what they’re going to do.

Remi and Bree arrive back at the Lyrik house. Kirby isn’t happy about Remi bailing on them, reminding him of his promises. Bree tries to take responsibility. Mercedes comes back in from a phone call with Reuben and tells them they’ve got three free studio sessions from 11pm to 7am. Everyone is delighted and celebrates.

At the Diner, Irene asks Alf if she can get him anything else before she leaves. Alf knows she was meant to go an hour ago and realises John’s driving her up the wall, saying she brought it on herself. Irene says she couldn’t bear the thought of him going home to an empty house. Alf says he doesn’t know how she puts up with him but he’s lucky to have a good mate.

At the beach house, John is putting the finishing touches to a lamb roast. Irene steels herself to deliver a forced jolly greeting, which becomes genuine when she sees what he’s done. John says he misses cooking for someone else, especially a non-vegetarian. Irene says she can’t remember the last time someone cooked for her.

Kirby, Mercedes, Theo, Remi and Bree turn up at Salt for a celebration, having also got a celebratory text from Eden. Kirby and Mercedes have mostly friendly digs at Remi about bailing on them and mention Rueben was also unimpressed about them pulling out of the competition. Kirby says Mercedes can talk anyone into anything. They note they have to discuss a track list and publicity among other things. Mercedes suggests Bree might be bored but she says she’s there to support Remi. She goes to get some food, declining Mercedes’ offer to pay for the drinks.

Leah tries to talk to Andrew about the album over dinner but Andrew asks to be excused, declining dessert. He makes straight for the laptop. Justin suggests they put a stop to it, saying nothing’s happened since the cameras were installed. Leah takes another approach, saying she feels safe and protected, but they also suggest Andrew needs to be rested. They point out that the doors are locked and the cameras are still on. Andrew agrees to go to bed.

Lyrik drink a toast to the album and Kirby suggests a toast for Mercedes. Remi notes they’re out of drink and Mercedes says she’ll get some beers, this time declining Bree’s offer to pay. Bree follows her to the bar, and after a few sharp exchanges of words, says she’s not there to fight but to thank Mercedes for saving the day, since it’s important to Remi. Mercedes simply says she knows.

During the night, Andrew gets up again, and checks the doors and the room where Leah and Justin are sleeping before settling in front of the laptop again.
