Extended Summary

Bree and Xander have just finished a surfing session. Xander notes it cleared his head and wonders about Bree’s mood. Bree explains about spending the evening with Lyrik and how it was clear Mercedes didn’t want her there. Remi turns up and asks Bree for a coffee. Bree suggests they have breakfast together and says she’ll meet him at Salt after she’s showered.

Andrew is asleep over the laptop when Leah and Justin find and wake him. They remind him that he was supposed to be going to bed but he insists he has to keep them safe. He declines their offer to have breakfast with them. Later, he remains glued to the laptop as they eat, declining a suggestion he go for a walk. Leah eventually convinces him to at least help tidy up while leaving the laptop on. Justin takes a phone call and tells Leah it was Missing Persons: Andrew’s sister is back in the country and wants to see him.

At the coffee cart, Marilyn serves Alf but is clearly distracted, ignoring a message and putting sugar in his tea. She admits she’s getting calls and e-mails from Stunning Organics: Their new CEO wants her to speak at a press conference where she’s going to distance herself from her predecessor.

At Salt, Remi is sharing a cocktail with Mercedes, who gently needles him about missing the pitch. She says nothing will stand in the way of them making music. Bree comes in, wondering what happened to breakfast. Remi says he ran into Mercedes and she needed to discuss arrangements for the sessions. Bree says she’ll get them some menus. At the counter, she comments to Xander that she wants a new career for Mercedes.

Justin tells Leah he’s concerned about introducing Andrew to Tegan after everything that happened with “Esther”. Leah points out that Missing Persons have checked her out. Justin has arranged for her to meet him first. Leah agrees but doesn’t want to keep it from Andrew. As Justin goes, Andrew tells Leah he’s done the dishes and asks him if he can get back to work. Leah says there’s something they need to discuss first. At the coffee cart, Justin briefly greets Marilyn before seeing a young woman who he guesses is Tegan, with her guessing he’s Justin. He explains he wants to talk before taking her to see Andrew.

Mercedes comments to Remi that they’re okay with the songs they did at Battle of the Bands but need to practice the others. Bree suggests she comes along to watch the recordings or brings them snacks. Remi says he doesn’t mind her coming but worries she’ll be bored. He and Mercedes leave to make arrangements. Xander offers to spend time with Bree.

Justin asks Tegan what she was doing overseas and she says she was a research assistant in Antarctica. She says she understands why he’s screening her, saying Vita Nova took her brother from her and let her think her mother abandoned her, but Missing Persons did a DNA test. She wants to see Andrew. At the Morgan house, Leah is trying to assure Andrew about Tegan but he is also dwelling on past experiences. Justin and Tegan turn up and Justin does introductions. Tegan asks if he remembers her. She goes to hug him but Andrew flinches away. He asks Justin why he brought Tegan there before disappearing into his room.

At the Diner, Marilyn gets another message from Stunning Organics offering to pay her $25,000 to talk at the press conference. Alf calls it a bribe. Marilyn says the press conference is this afternoon. Nearby, Bree admits to Xander that she’s not fine with Mercedes. Xander encourages her to be honest with Remi. By the beach, Leah tries to reassure Tegan, asking how she found out about Andrew. Tegan says she didn’t know he existed until she was eight, when her mum left the cult, and liked having a little brother. She says she wants them to be a real family. Leah is shocked to realise she wants Andrew to live with her.

Remi and Mercedes are running over session details, with Mercedes saying the engineer will set up a remote system. Bree turns up and asks to talk to Remi alone. Mercedes says she’ll go and watch paint dry. Bree insists to Remi that she trusts him and won’t let Mercedes get to her. Remi points out she’s already said that. At the Diner, Xander asks Alf about Roo. Alf says the doctors are taking her off sedation but won’t give straight answers. After Xander has gone, Alf talks to Marilyn about Stunning Organics paying people to say nice things about them and asks if she could get the CEO to meet them on their own turf.

Remi and Bree’s debate is interrupted by Mercedes saying Rueben’s office need full details of who’s coming for security reasons and wonders if Bree’s going. Bree says she won’t go, it’ll just be Lyrik and Mercedes, and that it’s her way of showing Remi she trusts him. At the surf club, Alf and Marilyn watch as Stunning Organics people set up a display. Marilyn checks Alf is ready.

Andrew says Justin shouldn’t have brought Tegan there. Justin says she just wants to get to know him, but this is still his home. Leah and Tegan turn up. Tegan chats to Andrew about CCTV cameras while Leah tells Justin they need to talk. Later, she’s explained Tegan’s plan to him. Justin is worried, citing the fact Tegan works away a lot. Leah agrees that will have to change but says they can’t stand in his way. They go back through where Tegan is recalling how she and Andrew went to the park together. She produces the photo of him as a child, saying she was there when it was taken, and reminisces about Ted. Andrew smiles. Leah looks pleased but Justin looks on with distinctly mixed feelings.
