Extended Summary

Theo and Kirby are chatting at the coffee cart about the studio schedule with Theo admitting he’s nervous. He gets a text from Remi with a list of jobs for them to do, including new harmonies for Secrets. Kirby protests that she’s working. Theo says he’ll set up at a table and she can join him when she’s free. At the Diner, John asks Irene what she wants for dinner and she says if he’s cooking he can decide. Theo and Kirby turn up, but Kirby quickly gets a text from Marilyn needing her at the surf club. Kirby doesn’t want to leave them in the lurch but Theo and Irene both tell her to go.

Tegan chats to Andrew about the day he got Ted and how jealous she was. She recalls how she carried the photo of him around everywhere, including in Antarctica. Leah says her goodbyes to Justin and checks Andrew is okay with her going to work, which she’s fine with. At the Diner, John tells Irene dinner will be a surprise. Irene gueses that mean he’ll decide when he sees what’s on special at the shops. John says it’s good to be with someone who understands him. Theo, listening from a nearby table, looks taken aback at this. Leah arrives and tells Theo about Tegan. Although Justin’s there, Theo wants to be there for Andrew.

Kirby joins Alf and Marilyn at the surf club as the press conferences begins. Carey welcomes everyone and announces a new beginning for Stunning Organics, before introducing Marilyn as the person that showed the way forward. However, Marilyn immediately surrenders the podium to Alf, who produces pictures of Roo both healthy and in a coma labelled “Before” and “After”, saying this is what Stunning Organs did to her. Carey says she’s not in a position to comment on the former CEO and Alf says it’s not one bad apple, the whole thing’s rotten. Marilyn then announces Carey bribed her to be there and a journalist, Ali, asks Carey to respond. Carey announces a short break.

Alf follows Carey outside, asking if she even remembers Roo’s name. Carey pushes the pictures away, angrily saying they don’t care about her. Marilyn calls out that now they know the truth. Carey looks round to find Kirby filming her and the journalists taking notes.

Tegan recalls how shy Andrew was when he met her and how much he loved the water. Theo turns up and is introduced to Tegan. Tegan suggests they go to the beach; Justin isn’t sure but Theo is keen and Andrew agrees. Justin looks put out as the three youngsters leave. Meanwhile, John arrives back at the Diner and checks Irene isn’t allergic to anything. Irene explains to Leah about him cooking for her. Leah claims to have left the books at home, which Irene realises is an excuse to check up on Tegan but lets her go. Alf, Marilyn and Kirby arrive, celebrating Stunning Organics’ humiliation, but Alf is worried the company might still be able to spin it.

Tegan, Andrew and Theo walk on the beach. Tegan recalls how sometimes she was scared the people would come back and kidnap her as well, and othe times she wished they would so she and Andrew could escape together. Theo asks about her mum going missing and Tegan admits she thought she’d abandoned her and feels bad about it now. Andrew says she was just a kid.

Leah arrives home to find Justin on the phone to Missing Persons, checking Tegan is who she says she is. Tegan, Andrew and Theo arrive back, with Tegan chatting about the place she’s rented in the city which is twenty minutes from the beach. Justin tells Theo and Andrew to go get a pizza while he chats to Tegan. He queries her inviting Andrew to live with her already. Tegan says she floated the idea and it’s up to Andrew. Justin thinks she’s moving too fast while Tegan says no-one’s going to keep them apart.

Kirby shows Alf, Irene and Marilyn that the video of Carey declaring she doesn’t care about Roo is on a news site and the comments are hating her and calling Alf a legend. They all think this will mean the end of Stunning Organics. Alf notes it’s too late for him to drive to the city so suggests they go for a feed. Meanwhile, Justin shows Tegan the social worker reports showing how traumatised Andrew is. He questions how she’s going to look after him and how long before she goes on another of her trips. Leah doesn’t look too happy at the line of questioning as Tegan insists she’s not going to let Andrew down and Justin tells her to put the brakes on.

Theo and Andrew come downstairs at Salt with the pizzas. Andrew is worried Justin will scare Tegan off but Theo doesn’t think she’ll abandon him. Andrew ponders what Tegan said about the world not being doomed. Meanwhile, Leah has taken Justin into the bedroom for a chat. She tells him that no-one wins if he drives off Tegan. Theo and Andrew arrive home to find Tegan on her own in the living area. As Leah and Justin reappear, Tegan asks if she’s welcome. Justin says if she hasn’t already arranged something, she should stay with them. Andrew agrees.

Irene and John are eating at Salt. John apologises for the shop being shut but Irene is just happy to have food on her plate. Alf, Marilyn and Kirby are at a nearby table but Kirby leaves when she gets a text saying Theo hasn’t done his Lyrik work. Alf and Marilyn notice Irene letting John take food from her plate; Alf says he thought Irene would be looking for excuses to get away from John and Marilyn agrees they look cosy. Alf gets a call from Martha telling him that Roo’s awake and briefly talks to her.

Next morning, Theo leaves to do band work. Tegan suggests she and Andrew go down the beach and he goes to get changed. Tegan tells Justin she’s going to slow down and get to know Andrew but still wants them to be in each other’s lives. Justin tells her not to make promises she can’t keep. Leah steps in, privately telling Justin that driving Tegan away will break Andrew’s heart and he needs to back off.

Theo joins Kirby at the coffee cart and apologises for not getting the work done. Kirby isn’t happy when she learns Andrew is actually okay and says she only went off with Marilyn because he said he’d do the work. She says she wanted to focus tonight and now he’s ruined the vibe. Meanwhile, Justin watches Andrew and Tegan playing in the water and looks forlorn.
