Lyrik needs a cash injection. Cash lands on a dead lead. Leah enlists Roo in her quest to help Andrew.
Extended Summary
Cash and Eden are relaxing round the back of Lyrik’s house first thing in the morning. Eden wonders what Cash’s work day is going to consist of, suggesting a sting on some crooks. Remi emerges and comments that he still can’t get used to having a cop around the house. Cash quips that he’s damaging Remi’s rock ‘n’ roll cred before heading off to work. Eden ponders on the street cred of dating a doctor and Remi specifies that she’s a hot doctor. He tells her they need to get to work on financing the album.
At the park, Leah gets a text and tells Bree that Justin’s dropped Andrew off for his appointment. Bree assures her that she and Justin are helping and the psychologist and social worker will sort things. She gets a text from Remi inviting her to come over and Leah tells her to go. Roo comes over and joins Leah.
Eden remarks that she misses the old band meetings when they used to talk about music and get nothing done. Remi agrees but hands her a list of things to do, including getting quotes from other recording studios and seeing about government grants. Eden protests that this is just all the things Remi doesn’t want to do. Remi says he hates talking on the phone and has his own list. At the Diner, Leah is talking to Roo about Andrew. Roo offers to access his school records. Leah reminds her they don’t have a last name, plus Andrew probably never went to school.
Justin pops by the police station, having left Andrew at the hospital, and asks Cash for an update. Cash points out a woman chatting with a colleague in the interview room and explains she’s one of Andrew’s neighbours. She said she’d seen a man in his 40s coming and going from the house but never spoke to him and didn’t know Andrew was living there. She’s giving them a description.
Eden gets off the phone and tells Remi that the quote she got was $5,000 more than the one he was given. She suggests he sells an organ and Bree could do the operation. Bree turns up at that moment and Remi admits he thought they’d be finished. Bree is happy to wait. Eden suggests a music trivia night with a meat raffle. Remi asks where they’d get the meat from.
Cash warns Justin it sometimes takes a while but a moment later his colleague brings a photofit over. Cash says they’ll send it to the facial recognition unit but warns him it might not be a good likeness. Later, Cash tells Justin, who is pacing the station, that even if they get a match, it won’t tell them where the man is. Justin isn’t happy about the idea of someone abusing children but leaves him to get on.
Eden has looked up government grants but you need a motivation statement, CVs and a five year plan. Remi is e-mailing potential investors. Eden suggests raising money with a car wash and Remi sarcastically suggests a lemonade stand. Bree says she’s pay to watch Remi lather up. Eden gets fed up and decides to go and spend time with Cash.
Later, Remi and Bree are relaxing outside the house. Bree ignores a phone call, saying she’s not on call and her e-mails are set to out of office. Remi admits he thought she was avoiding him and Bree says her counselling is helping. Remi explains his plan that the album will mean the band don’t need to tour.
Leah is keeping busy at the Diner, reminding Roo that Irene’s in Cyprus. She is thinking of helping Andrew with his reading and writing. Roo offers to do an assessment but says they should talk to the social worker first. Eden comes in and asks what Cash normally has for lunch. Leah says it varies but suggests a burger. Eden orders two of those and a doughnut. Leah gets a text from Justin and goes to meet him at home. Justin wonders if he jumped the gun bringing Andrew there but Leah says he did the right thing and tells him her idea.
Eden turns up at the police station with Cash’s lunch. She sees the printed photofit and wonders how many people were put out of work when the police stopped using sketch artists. Cash explains about being able to scan it onto the system and says it’s a rather dark case involving a troubled teen. He realises Eden will expect to share the doughnut with him. Meanwhile, Remi and Bree are walking in the park. Bree suggests the band use their talents to raise money.
Eden comments to Cash on Remi focusing on a girlfriend for once. Suspecting Cash isn’t really listening, she claims to have killed Remi. Cash gets a match on the photo, Archie Lawrence. Eden leaves him to track him down. Meanwhile, Roo brings Leah a guide for working out Andrew’s literacy level. Leah is preparing to go out as Justin comes back in from seeing to Buddy. He thanks Roo before telling Leah he’s going to meet Andrew at the hospital. However, he then gets a call from Cash.
Eden arrives back at the Lyrik house. Remi suggests trying to raise funds with a concert but Eden doesn’t think randoms will turn up and give them money to record an album. She says there’s a simple solution: Remi calls his parents. Remi refuses and says she knows why. At the police station, Cash shows Justin Archie’s file but says he’s dead: Three weeks ago, of a heart attack while driving. Justin realises he was Andrew’s only contact with the outside world. Cash offers to tell Andrew but Justin says he’ll do it, noting it’s better that it comes from someone he trusts.
