Extended Summary

Leah is serving Bree at the coffee cart and admits she and Justin nearly called the social worker about Andrew, saying they bonded over music. She jokes about Bree’s rock star boyfriend. Bree offers to come round and give Andrew a check-up later. Theo arrives and mentions Kirby’s spending all her time helping Marilyn at the moment. Leah agrees to him coming home for a feed.

At the Morgan house, Justin is playing the guitar for Andrew as Leah and Theo turn up. Leah introduces Theo to Andrew but Andrew ignores him and tells Justin to finish the song. After talking over them about dinner, Theo ends up grabbing his guitar and joining in.

Rose reminds Xander that he couldn’t wait to graduate and stop pulling beers. Xander tells her not to change the subject. Rose refuses to discuss Mali and Xander offers her a Corpse Reviver cocktail. He suggests things aren’t as bad as she thinks but Rose says Mali didn’t kiss her back and practically ran away. Later, Rose tries to argue there were signs, saying Mali fixed her leg rope and then said he missed her. Xander says he meant as a friend. Rose asks for a mai tai and notes that Xander has a degree. Xander is disappointed she’s not pleased for him. Rose says she never wants to see Mali again.

At the Diner, Alf gets Marilyn to sit with him, asking about the fact she’s never at home. Marilyn says she gets up early to meditate. Alf asks if that takes ten hours. Marilyn says she had to cover for Kirby while she was away and now Irene’s away and Leah’s busy with Andrew. She gets a text about another delivery and says she has an appointment. Later, as she’s piling up boxes at the beach house, Alf suddenly comes in. Marilyn asks what he’s doing there and Alf observes that he could ask her the same thing.

Bree gives Andrew a check-over and asks about eating and sleeping. He looks at Leah and Justin before answering. Theo goes over to play music for Andrew while Bree talks to Leah and Justin. Cash is still searching the neighbourhood where Andrew was found for information. Bree suggests trying to get him outside so Justin suggests Andrew go down the beach tomorrow. Andrew asks if he has to. Bree says she’ll make an appointment with the social worker. Leah goes to the bedroom for a quiet moment and Theo follows her. Leah is sad about what’s happened to Andrew. Theo offers to stay the night.

At Salt, Xander comments that he’s surprised Rose isn’t seeing double and asking for a martini martini. Rose rambles about the look on Mali’s face. Bree turns up, having received a text from Xander, and Rose calls her a babysitter. She asks Bree to join her for a “martini martini”. Bree suggests food and “water water” and offers to listen about Mali.

Alf asks Marilyn why she didn’t send the boxes back. Marilyn says she’s still under contract and also tells him about the defamation suit and that she lied about having a meeting with the lawyer. She explains about her and Kirby’s plan. Alf worries that it will get her in more trouble. Meanwhile, Theo play a new tune for Justin as Andrew helps Leah with the washing up. They discuss the plan to a record an album and the lack of money. Leah gives Theo a hug, saying it’s good to have him here, then tells Andrew she’s glad he’s there too. Andrew bends down to give her a hug and says he likes being there.

Bree tries to calm Rose as she continues to babble about Mali. Xander announces that he’s cutting her off. Bree offers to take her home, saying there’s ice cream in the flat. Rose asks for a favour first, pointing dramatically at her and Xander. Bree goes downstairs and checks Mali isn’t there as Xander helps Rose downstairs. Bree says she’ll help Rose home. Rose drunkenly tells Xander that he threw his career away to make cocktails and it’s a waste.

Next morning, Justin and Theo take Andrew down the beach. Theo asks him if he likes it and Andrew says he’s never been before. Justin tells him to take his shoes off and he smiles as he moves his foot through the sand. Justin and Theo lead him to the water. He backs away from the waves but Justin assures him that salt water fixes everything, before adding “almost”. Andrew joins them in wading in the water. At the Diner, Marilyn receives a visit from Alf, who notes she was gone before he got up again. He tells her that he thinks she’s doing the right thing standing up for herself.

A rather hungover-looking Rose is sitting with Bree near the coffee cart. Rose says she wants to crawl into a deep hole and apologises for last night. Xander appears and Bree goes to check up on the coffees. Rose apologises for not being supportive and for getting drunk on his first shift. Xander forgives her and Rose notes it’s time to move on from Mali.

Justin, Theo and Andrew arrive home. Andrew wants to go back to the beach soon but Justin tells him to shower and change first, since Bree has a social worker appointment arranged. Andrew says he doesn’t want to go and ends up hiding behind Leah in a panic, begging her not to make him. Leah says she can’t do this and walks out of the house.

Justin catches up to Leah in a park area. He says he’ll talk to Andrew but Leah is worried about what’s happened to him to make him scared. Bree arrives and asks if everything’s okay. Leah says not really. Back at the house, Theo tries to reassure Andrew as he paces nervously. Justin arrives back and says Leah’s okay but they have to go now. Andrew tries to come up with excuses until Justin snaps at him to get in the car. Andrew woodenly obeys, walking out of the house. Justin apologises and he and Theo exchange worried looks.
