Extended Summary

Xander suggests Stacey could just say no to Tane but she points out he’s planning his wedding and her boss. She says Xander doesn’t have to do this but he says that’s what friends are for, before wondering what Rose said to her. At the Diner, Irene wonders why Leah isn’t cheering Justin on. Leah is fed up of hearing about golf and Irene admits she is too, what with Marilyn and Roo organising it and John obsessing. She mentions there being $1000 on the line, which is news to Leah.

Dean sinks another hole and Justin calls him a natural. He ignores a call from Leah and thinks the game is theirs. John, Rose and Kirby come past and Justin mockingly warns John not to get sun stroke. Theo recalls Justin sweating yesterday and Justin comments on the “golf gods” messing with John. Suspicious, Theo asks what he’s done. Justin says nothing anybody can prove.

At Salt, Alf and Marilyn are setting up. Roo comes over and says security have footage of someone tampering with John’s buggy. She shows them footage of Justin on her phone. She thinks Justin’s team need to be disqualified but Alf and Marilyn don’t want to spoil the tournament. Roo agrees to wait until after it’s over but says then they need to address it.

Leah leaves a phone message for Justin saying if he doesn’t call back he’ll be sharing the dog house with Buddy. Irene tries to calm her down and stop her going down to confront Justin. Leah asks why not and Irene says because Rose would arrest her for attempted murder. She argues that the tournament’s for a good cause and Leah accepts it. Xander and Stacey come in and order coffees. Irene gets Xander to introduce her to Stacey, saying he’s said so much about her. Xander tries to get her to move on but Irene says she’s pleased to meet the girl Xander’s seeing. Stacey says they’re just friends now. Xander says they’ll take the coffee to go.

Justin sinks his ball on the last hole. Theo takes over but his shots don’t go very far. Dean gets frustrated and Justin sends him away. Theo now plays the ball away from the hole, before criticising Justin for cheating at a charity tournament and saying they’d be winning either way. Justin asks if Theo wants him to come clean. Theo says that would be an idea.

Xander and Stacey retreat up to the flat. Xander is embarrassed but Stacey says she quite likes that Xander was talking about her. She admits Rose accused her of not really liking him and says she does like him, maybe too much. She ponders if maybe she should commit to an exclusive relationship. Xander says he can’t ask her to change for him and suggests they keep their distance. Stacey convinces him to walk her back to work.

Theo continues to hit the ball around without landing in the hole, with Dean getting more and more frustrated. John, Kirby and Rose catch up to them and are bemused. Justin approaches Theo and quietly agrees to turn himself in. Theo sinks the ball. Justin goes over to John and starts to say something but Dean calls for quiet and then sinks the ball in one shot. Justin simply tells John he’s toast. Theo is annoyed but Justin says John would never let it go and promises to confess to Roo.

Leah complains about how she and Justin could go away with $1000. She realises Irene isn’t in the best mood and Irene tells her about putting her foot in it with Xander and Stacey. Alf comes in and Leah suspects he’s avoiding John and Justin, saying she knows everything. Alf mentions Justin sabotaging John’s buggy, then realises Leah didn’t know. Irene welcomes him to the foot in mouth club.

Xander walks Stacey to the door of the gym where they say a reluctant farewell. As Xander walks away, Stacey tells him to wait and says she’ll give being exclusive a go. Xander says it’s not what she wants but Stacey says she likes him too much not to try: Maybe one of them will get hurt but maybe they won’t. Xander kisses her.

Everyone has gathered at Salt to listen to the results. Alf sullenly announces the winner of the team event is Justin’s team, the Happy Chillmores. John congratulates Justin, as Alf adds that Dean received the lowest individual score. Dean happily rings Ziggy to tell he’s run the car. Marilyn frets to Roo, as Alf announces they’ve been disqualified for poor sportsmanship and Palmer’s Putters are the new winners of the team event. John and Rose hug as Theo tells Kirby he’ll explain later. Dean asks Justin what’s going on and Roo explains about the security footage, confirming it means no car.

Rose arrives home with the trophy and tells Xander her team won by default, although she lost the individual contest to a guy in a Hawaiian shirt by three shots. She says she’s heading back after having a shower and, when Xander says he knows what she said to Stacey, says she wasn’t trying to have a go. Xander says it’s all worked out.

John chats to Alf about what Justin did. Rose arrives and John gets her a drink as she says he was a great team leader. John starts a navy story which causes Alf to retreat. Theo tells Kirby he was hoping Justin would come clean and that Justin’s now fixing the buggy and drawing out his $1000. Marilyn and Roo reflect on how much money they made, with Roo saying a sporting event has to have a cheating scandal. Theo goes to the bar to commiserate with Dean, who doesn’t know how he’ll tell Ziggy. On the balcony, Rose and Kirby talk about how they had a good time but wonder if all three of them have to take a cruise together. John gives Alf a fishing magazine subscription and also something for Theo. Justin arrives with the $1000 and apologies for Marilyn and John. Leah comes in and calls out Justin’s name. Alf says she knows everything.

Leah and Justin come downstairs. Leah says Justin has a lot of explaining to do and suggests he start with Dean, saying she’ll be at home. Justin apologises and asks if he can do anything. Dean says he and Ziggy need a second car and Justin owes him. Justin heads home and tells Leah he’s trying to make things up to people. Leah isn’t happy about losing $1000. Justin says he’s embarrassed and exhausted and asks if they can do this in the morning. Leah tells him to enjoy the couch.
