Extended Summary

Ziggy asks Tane why he thinks Felicity isn’t interested in marriage or children. Tane says that’s what she told him but admits things have changed since they spoke about it. Ziggy encourages him to talk to her again. Tane sees Felicity outside the surf club and asks her how she’s doing. Felicity says Mackenzie has got her trying to find a last minute replacement for Salt.

Up in Salt, Heather asks John why he’s harassing her and John asks why she won’t answer a simple question. Heather says Marilyn’s the one causing trouble for her. John asks why Alf and the others would believe a stranger like her over Marilyn. Heather loudly tells John to stop attacking her and rushes out past Tane and Felicity. She runs into Nikau downstairs and says she needs to get out of there and to ask John why.

At the Diner, Irene notes it’s good to see Marilyn smiling and Marilyn says she’s proud of Jett. Alf and Roo come in and ask Marilyn how she’s doing. Marilyn says she’s doing what they said and keeping her distance from Heather. Irene says Heather and Marilyn were polite when she was in before but Roo points out that that’s not keeping her distance. Marilyn says she has to go to work but she’ll only approach Heather if she makes the first move. She then gets a text and announces she has to take a break, prompting Irene to comment on her disappearing in the middle of a shift.

Marilyn meets Heather by the beach. Heather says John had a go at her and asks if Marilyn put him up to it. Marilyn says she didn’t and Heather says she believes her but it’s hard when so many people in town have got it in for her. She suggests she should leave town but Marilyn tells her not to and says she’ll sort John.

At the surf club, Nikau tries to ask John what happened with Heather. John tries to avoid it with discussion of rosters but ends up calling it a misunderstanding. Marilyn comes in and asks John about harassing Heather. Nikau asks if it’s true but John sends him away. John says he was just sticking up for Marilyn and she was saying the same thing not so long ago but Marilyn tells him to leave Heather alone.

Up in Salt, Felicity complains about Mackenzie’s stubbornness and says she’d happily have Lyrik back. Tane says you have to support your partner. He offers to help but Felicity points out he’s never had to look for a band, although she does say they make a good team. She cuts off Tane to answer a phone call. Down on the beach, Dean finishes off a class. Ziggy gets him to lie down next to her, saying they need to appreciate the moments. As they’re discussing how good things are, Ziggy sits up and throws up in the sand.

Nikau challenges John about what happened with Heather. John says he’s convinced Heather is up to something and isn’t who she says she is, but doesn’t have any evidence except for a gut feeling. At the Diner, Alf orders a coffee from Marilyn and chats to Roo, who says she’s meeting Heather and then a new client. Marilyn says that’s good news and Roo says the review from Heather helped. Heather comes in and says she has to cancel the session, saying she’s had a bad day and has a headache coming on.

At the surf club, Ziggy has just finished throwing up. She and Dean discuss how they normally have fun before throwing up and whether making a baby qualifies. She recalls how Tane was saying he wanted a kid and marriage. Dean asks if she wants to get married. Ziggy asks if he wants to and Dean says he would if it was what she wanted. Ziggy says she’s got everything she needs.

Outside, Tane asks Nikau if he can find somewhere else to be tonight, since he wants to do something for Felicity and has already sorted Cash. Nikau agrees. Heather appears and Nikau asks how she’s feeling after before. Heather says the fresh air helped. Nikau asks why everyone has it in for her and why Marilyn’s suddenly friends with her. Heather suggests they go to her van and she’ll wait while he finishes. Not far away, Alf comments on John leaving early. They then notice that the tyres on John’s car have been slashed.

Inside, Heather tells Nikau she’ll meet him at the van if he’s going to be longer. John and Alf come in and ask if Heather slashed the tyres. Heather says she doesn’t even know what his car is. Nikau suggests it could have been Marilyn, saying she had a go at John earlier. Heather claims to have been with Nikau all afternoon. John points out Nikau was working and Heather says the rest of the time she was in her van. She and Nikau leave. Alf and John go to the Diner where John asks if Marilyn did it. Irene laughs at the idea but Alf says Marilyn hasn’t been herself lately. Marilyn says she’s been with Irene all day and Irene points out Marilyn did take a break. Marilyn storms out.

Felicity is looking at her laptop, still trying to find a replacement for Lyrik, as Tane arrives home. Tane gives her a shoulder massage and suggests she take a nice hot bath, kissing her softly. Felicity agrees, heading off to the bathroom. When she comes back, Tane has the table set with a candlelit meal. They sit down to eat and he asks her what she thinks of their relationship. Felicity admits she wasn’t expecting them to end up where they are but is glad they did. She says she doesn’t know where they go next but knows they’re in it together.

Nikau and Heather walk through the caravan park. Nikau asks why she lied about being with him. Heather says it’s getting out of control. When Nikau presses for answers, she tells him that Marilyn’s her mother. In the van, Heather explains about Marilyn abandoning her and says it was Marilyn’s idea to keep it secret because she’s ashamed of her. She says no-one knows except him and not to tell Marilyn, adding she just wanted to get to know her mum. Nikau gives her a comforting hug and Heather looks smug.
