Has Theo signed up for life on tour? Cash struggles to accept his new reality. Roo’s first taste of freedom is unexpected.

Extended Summary

Ziggy continues to question Justin about Theo’s apprenticeship while Justin just wants to go and change, giving dismissive responses. Ziggy asks how often Theo’s going to rehearse or play a gig. Justin doesn’t know but says Theo’s allowed a life outside work and finally bails, saying Theo’s found something he loves. Dean suggests Ziggy find the right time to talk about it. Meanwhile, Cash is focusing on his phone outside the surf club and John nearly drives into him. John says he thought Cash would have Jasmine with him and Cash says he did too before walking off. John calls Irene wondering what’s going on.

At the Diner, Irene asks Marilyn to look after things for a while. Nearby, Roo is making a list of what to do with her free time, adding reading her pile of books. Marilyn suggests t’ai chi. Alf says he has to get going to the caravan park. Roo continues to chat to Marilyn, saying she can check out the podcasts Ryder has recommended, have a massage and go to the movies.

Dean returns to the surf club and tells Ziggy that the grommits are asking for certificates although he’s not sure what to write on them, suggesting a certificate for not face planting. Ziggy is somewhat disenchanted by the lack of information for her study schedule and leaves when Justin turns up. Dean reminds him that he begged Ziggy to help and has now bailed when he and Theo have found something more fun to do.

Irene fills John in on the fact that Jasmine didn’t turn up and they haven’t been able to get in touch with Robbo’s parents. Eden finds Cash outside the Parata house. He was looking for Felicity and says that the local station are sending someone to check on Jasmine. Eden offers to keep him company but he declines. He does however says he hopes she gets the house she was after.

Eden tells Remi off for drinking out of a carton and tells him about Cash’s girlfriend being missing. Remi isn’t keen on the idea of her getting involved with Cash but eventually decides to get dressed and go with her. Not long after, Cash is leaving a phone message for Jasmine saying help is coming. Eden and Remi appear and Eden convinces him to have breakfast with them, despite him saying he’s not great company.

Justin goes round to see Ziggy, returning the folder with her study schedule and apologising for not taking her seriously. He asks her to relax but Ziggy is still worried that they’ll have no time. Justin says it’s just a couple of rehearsals a week and a gig at Salt every fortnight and he was worried because she didn’t want Theo auditioning. Ziggy says she can work with that and Justin says he’ll sort out Theo’s garage shifts around the study sessions and the band.

Roo tells Marilyn that she can’t arrange a massage and there’s no good movies on so she’s going to have a long lazy lunch with a friend: Her. Marilyn protests that she’s working all day and doesn’t have much of a lunch break. She offers to make up a hamper so Roo can have a picnic on the beach.

John suggests to Irene that Robbo’s parents could have put pressure on Jasmine to stay, on hearing she’s got a new man. Irene doesn’t think they’d do that but says she’ll call him if she hears anything. Outside the surf club, Eden tries to talk to Cash about the band’s new singer but Cash is neither listening or interested. He apologises and heads inside. Remi stops Eden going after him, saying he doesn’t want them in his face. Eden is tempted to smash Jasmine for this.

Inside, John approaches Cash and tries to reassure him. Cash gets a phone call and confirms he ordered the welfare check, before saying that can’t be right. Some time later, John leads Irene to the gym, where Cash is punching a bag in a fury. Irene asks if Jasmine’s all right and Cash stops long enough to say they all are before adding that she’s not coming back.

Alf runs into Roo on her way to the picnic. Roo asks him to come with her but Alf says he’s too busy since he’s having to do John’s work as well. Later, Roo tries to set up near the beach but struggles to put an umbrella up, eventually throwing it to the ground in frustration. Marilyn appears and says Irene has given her a long lunch break to spend with her. She says it looked like Roo was having an argument with an umbrella. Roo says they’ve worked it out.

Dean comes home and is surprised at Ziggy’s good mood. She guesses that he convinced Justin to come round and says Theo’s commitment to the band isn’t as big as she thought. Dean asks what happens when they’re away on tour and Ziggy says Justin told her he’s not doing that. At Salt, Remi is trying to work out a tour itiinerary with a distracted Eden, saying someone has to keep on top of it with Bob gone. Justin appears and chats about Theo’s debut. He is shocked when they mention their regular coastal tour, learning Salt is only a small part of their work.

John brings Cash some ice for his knuckles and Irene asks him what’s going on. He explains about the welfare check: The local police found Jasmine and her in-laws there. Jasmine said she decided to stay there and asked them to pass on her love and her apologies. Irene is shattered and confused. Meanwhile, Justin calls Theo and says they need to talk.

Irene approaches Cash who feels worried that Jasmine felt pressured when he asked her to come home. Irene asks if Xander and Rose know. Cash worries what to say to them. Irene says it’s Jasmine’s responsibility but Cash doesn’t want them finding out from a phone call that they’ve moved their lives there for nothing.
