Extended Summary

Jasmine waits by a door at the hospital until Xander, on his first shift, is pushed through whilst doing CPR on a patient, Mitchell Davidson, who collapsed on a bus and was given CPR by the driver. He hands over to a nurse and Jasmine notes the uniform looks good on him. Outside the caravan park house, Alf comments to Martha that she looks strong. Roo appears and says she’s going to clean the shower block. Alf and Martha aren’t sure about her spending the day before her surgery like that but Roo turns down Martha’s suggestion of going for a walk.

Theo meets Chloe in a park area and says he was calling her all night. Chloe says she muted him. Theo asks why she invited him for drinks and then left straightaway. Chloe says he obviously has other friends and she won’t bother him again, walking off. Leah and Justin appear and ask Theo how his date went. Theo says it wasn’t a date and was barely even drinks, complaining about taking advice from “Dumb and Dumber”. Justin goes after him. At the Diner, Marilyn also asks Chloe about the date and gets a similar response, with Chloe saying she obviously misunderstood how Theo felt. Leah arrives and Marilyn comments that she knew John giving Theo advice was a bad idea.

Theo and Justin are playing pool at the surf club. Theo says he got ready like Justin said then went to Salt with Becky. Justin is bewildered that he took another girl on his date. Theo says John told him to make Chloe jealous. Justin says he told him not to and it wasn’t fair on anyone. Theo curses taking advice from John and Justin says John got one thing right: Theo overanalyses things and just needs to be himself. Justin insists on finishing the game first though.

Jasmine tells Xander that Mitchell’s on his way to ICU and going to be fine. Xander comments on Logan not being there and Jasmine says he’s taken a few days off. Xander thinks he can’t face Millie. Jasmine says he was injured too but Xander retorts that he was speeding. He heads in the opposite direction to the exit, saying he’s getting morning tea, and Jasmine realises he’s going to see Millie. She is working on her laptop when he turns up and notices his uniform. She still can’t remember anything but she and Jo’s father, her boss at the law firm, are building a civil case against Logan. Xander is shocked and says he didn’t tell her about the speeding so she could go after Logan. Millie insists they want justice.

Alf and Martha are at the Diner and chat to Marilyn about Roo running around doing everything. Alf says he can do it on his own and declines an offer of help from Leah, getting a telling-off from Martha. Leah and Marilyn discuss getting Roo to relax. Near the beach, Xander talks to Jasmine about Millie’s actions and says he should have listened to her. Jasmine admits she broke Logan’s confidence with him but is worried Millie and Jo’s father are doing this when the investigation’s still going on.

At the Diner, Marilyn and Leah have prepared a hamper for Roo. Theo turns up and they leave him and Chloe alone with encouragement to have a word. Theo presents Chloe with some flowers and apologises, saying he was in the friend zone and trying to make her jealous and is crazy about her. Chloe asks him to come out with her tonight, just them. Meanwhile, Alf accosts Roo and points to where Leah, Marilyn, Martha and Justin are waiting with lunch. Marilyn calls it their last meal then gets flustered before Alf puts her out of the misery. He tells Roo no-one ever finishes a to-do list. Roo notes she’s lucky.

Xander arrives back at the hospital and finds Millie’s room empty and her things gone. Jasmine tells him she was discharged half an hour ago. Xander wants to fix things. Later, Jasmine and Xander go to Salt with him accepting he needs to do things differently. On the balcony, Chloe wonders why Theo thought they were in the friend zone. Theo says he can be dumb sometimes and it’s her turn to tell him how she feels. She kisses him.

Alf thanks Marilyn and Leah and hopes they’re all back together again soon. He comments on Roo and Martha’s courage and strength and says he’s proud of them. They drink a toast to family. Later, Martha and Roo have checked into hospital. Alf asks if he can do anything but Martha tells him to have a good night’s sleep. He kisses her goodbye and tells Roo he’ll see her in the morning.

Next morning, Xander meets Millie by the beach, after she left a message at the station. She apologises for not talking to him before she was discharged and thanks him for his support. She notes this is where she and Jo were going and recalls joking around and singing in the car. Xander points out she can remember that, which shocks her. He tries to jog her memory. At the hospital, Martha gives Alf her wedding ring to look after. Roo is wheeled off, with Martha following. Later, Alf is waiting and has a brief phone conversation with Ryder. Marilyn turns up with food but he isn’t up to it and notes he’s tired of looking at the clock. He thanks her for coming.

Xander tries to get Millie to remember the music. He gets a text and this jogs her memory: She got a text just before the accident and took her eyes off the road to read it.
