Extended Summary

Cash arrives back at the caravan park and sees Felicity, asking her where she’s going. Felicity teases him about his “dirty weekend” but he just asks her again more forcefully. Felicity says she’s just going for a shower and tells him that if he’s having a problem with Jasmine he shouldn’t take it out on her. At the Diner, Jasmine has filled in Irene, who says Cash must have given a reason for not wanting to move in. Jasmine says he didn’t: He just said no and then left. She considers digging a hole and hiding in it. Irene suggests it was a bit quick for both of them and encourages Jasmine to talk to him.

Mackenzie rejoins Logan at the motel room and says no-one saw Neve go and she isn’t outside. Logan worries that she’s going to disappear again and he pushed her too hard. He decides to drive around and look for her. Mackenzie says she’ll check him out of the motel. At the Morgan house, Justin tells Theo that community service isn’t the end of the world and they didn’t expect Alf to apologise to him. Theo says he won’t cause any more trouble and thanks Justin, noting Justin and Alf can go back to being friends.

Next morning, Jasmine is going for a run on the beach. Felicity calls out to her and wonders what happened to put Cash in a bad mood. Jasmine asks if he was angry. Felicity says more frustrated and annoyed, telling Jasmine to sort it out. Jasmine goes to the caravan park. Cash apologises for bailing on her and Jasmine asks him to explain. Cash says he overreacted but doesn’t think it’s right for him to abandon Felicity. He notes that even though Felicity seems to have got herself together with the job and Tane, he thinks that she could unravel and might not tell him if she did. Jasmine points out they went through this before going to the city. Cash says going away for a couple of days is not the same as moving away, adding he worked hard to win back her trust over Anne and get her to accept the truth about their dad, and he’s not ready to take the risk now.

At the Diner flat, Logan is telling Mackenzie that he looked everywhere but wants to keep looking anyway. Mackenzie tells him it was Neve’s decision to walk away. Neve comes in and agrees. She bursts into tears and Logan comforts her. Mackenzie doesn’t look too happy. Later, Mackenzie hands drinks around and Neve apologises to her. She says she just went down the beach last night. Logan asks why she came back. Neve looks over at Mackenzie who testily says she’ll leave them to it. Neve says she planned on leaving but Logan’s right about her mental health. Logan says he’s glad she came back.

Downstairs, Irene is bewildered as Justin and Theo tell her about Alf apologising. Justin wonders if that or his earlier behaviour is more alarming. Alf comes in and Theo offers him his seat so he can chat to Justin but Alf awkwardly says he has to go to the bait shop. Justin and Theo exit after him and Justin tells Theo to have fun before commuity service but don’t be late. Alf is surprised it’s starting already. Justin asks him about Martha. Alf prepares to head out fishing and Justin offers to go with him. Alf agrees.

Mackenzie arrives at Salt, surprising Felicity since she’d heard she wasn’t coming in. Mackenzie tells her to mind her own business. Jasmine comes in and Felicity asks if she sorted things out with Cash. With a lot of pushing, Jasmine admits Cash wouldn’t move in with her and it’s because of Felicity. Felicity hands Mackenzie her apron, saying she’s taking her break. Jasmine chases after her as she bangs on Cash’s van and asks why he’s using her as an excuse. She thinks it’s just him panicking and asks if he wants to live with Jasmine. There’s an uncomfortable silence before Felicity storms off.

Soon after, Felicity is ranting to Mackenzie about Cash’s behaviour. Mackenzie snaps that some people have actual problems and tells her to leave. Felicity calls it an extra break and thanks her. Back at the caravan park, Cash says Felicity was out of line but Jasmine wonders if she was right about Cash using her as an excuse. She babbles that it was crazy to just ask him to move in and she hadn’t thought it through, although her expression when Cash hugs her looks peeved.

Back at the flat, Logan asks Neve about last night. She says she went to the bus station but couldn’t stand the noise. She feels embarrassed that she feels like this despite never being on the front line, and says she’s not a medic or a girlfriend anymore and doesn’t know who she is. She doesn’t trust anyone but Logan to help her. Later, Logan ends a phone call and tells Neve it was a friend who’s a military lawyer. He said she’d definitely go to military prison for going AWOL but would get treatment for her PTSD. Neve asks how long and he says probably seven years minimum. Neve isn’t happy but Logan says it’s better than spending the rest of her life unwell and on the run.

Jasmine and Cash turn up at the Diner. Jasmine tells Irene everything’s good. Irene asks if she could get another key cut, then realises that’s not what they’ve decided. Jasmine says it’s crystal clear now: Cash doesn’t want to live her so she’s taking the offer back. Cash protests that’s not what he said but Jasmine brushes off the remark. Soon after, on the beach, Cash tries to talk about things, saying he’s just not ready yet, but Jasmine says the offer never happened so there’s no need to talk and walks off.

Logan sees Neve with her bag and tries to talk her out of running again. Neve says he just wants rid of her. Logan says she can get her life back. Neve says he promised to always be there for her but Logan says this isn’t his area and she needs to be seen by experts. Neve walks out.
