Extended Summary

Ari meets with Mia outside the surf club: They are looking for Tane, who isn’t at the gym and didn’t come home, even though his car’s still there. Cash comes along and Ari asks him about Felicity, explaining that Tane’s missing too. Cash suggests they report it to the police. At the outbuilding, Tane tries to get Anne to talk to him. She says he’s never wanted to talk to her before, saying he took home a different girl each week and never once noticed her. Tane is bemused. Felicity suggests Anne let her go so she and Tane can be together and Tane agrees. Anne says she likes hearing him beg.

At the beach house, Irene pours the brandy away despite Marilyn’s protests. Marilyn complains that she paid for it but Irene says Marilyn put her at risk by bringing it in. Marilyn suggests she might be bored not getting to talk to customers and if she went to work then she’d be tired at night. Irene reluctantly agrees to try it. At the police station, Ari has filled Darren in on the rose left the day Felicity left town. Cash quickly checks that no-one saw who left the rose so it might not have been Felicity. Ari explains Tane was fed up of talking to the police plus he wasn’t sure it was Felicity. Darren sends him home then talks to Cash about his unannounced trip home; Cash knows Darren had someone following him. He sees an album in an evidence bag that Darren says they found in Felicity’s van. Cash says she’d have never left without it.

Anne says that she just wanted Tane to look at her the way he looked at Felicity. She tries to get Felicity to write a goodbye note to Cash, saying he’s better off without her, and asks if she’s going to leave him wondering like their father did. Felicity refuses, leaving her frustrated. When Anne gives her the pen, Felicity stabs her in the leg with it. Angry, Anne tasers her. At the police station, Cash is convinced Felicity was telling the truth about being set up and both she and Tane are in trouble. When Darren refuses to act, Cash puts his badge down on the desk, saying he’s off the case. Darren warns him he’ll arrest him if he interferes but Cash doesn’t care.

Felicity comes round and Tane checks on her. Anne is now limping slightly. Felicity offers to write the letter but Anne refuses to give her the pen again. Instead, she takes Felicity’s phone and writes a text to Cash saying she can’t go on. Despite Felicity begging her, Anne sends the text. Meanwhile, Cash and Ari meet up outside the Diner. Cash wants to go over Tane’s movements, explaining he’s not on the case. He gets the text from Felicity’s phone and realises it’s not her but it means the phone’s back on. He calls someone, asking them to put a trace on the phone.

At the Diner, Irene checks on Marilyn, who takes a coffee and carrot cake to Darren. He says he didn’t order it and she says it’s her treat, flirtatiously quizzing him about the investigation. Irene drags Marilyn into the kitchen and says she was about to give Darren her phone number. Marilyn wishes she’d thought of that. Meanwhile, Mia finds Ari and Cash about to leave to look for Tane and Felicity. Mia is worried about Ari going and Cash says he can call for back-up but Ari insists on going along.

Anne dons a protective suit and mask. Cash and Ari arrive outside and look through the window, seeing Anne preparing to turn the tank on and Tane and Felicity begging her not to. They dash in and Cash wrestles Anne to the ground, holding her in place. Ari takes the tank outside and then unties Tane and Felicity.

Irene sits Marilyn down and talks to her about her behaviour, saying she’s been inconsiderate and doesn’t care. Marilyn says she’s standing up for herself and accuses Irene of judging her. She says she’s going home, hers. Mia comes in and asks after Jasmine before ordering a coffee. She gets a phone call from an unknown number and answers. Shocked by who it is, she goes outside, asking them how they got her number and saying she said to never contact her. Irene follows her outside with the coffee and Mia dismisses the matter.

Anne is dragged into the police station, trying to claim she’s done nothing wrong and Cash is covering for his sister. Darren asks for statements. Cash wants to take Felicity to hospital so Darren takes Tane in first. Cash shows Felicity the album and comforts her. Later, Cash and Ari exchange thank yous. Ari is bemused about thanking a cop and Cash says to think of him as a mate. Darren gives Cash his badge back and tells him it was a good job. Tane and Felicity exchange nods. Cash wants to take Felicity to hospital but she says she’ll take herself there, still angry at him for not believing she was innocent.

Back at the Parata house, Tane and Ari fill Mia in on the fact that Tane barely knew Anne. Tane goes to lie down. Mia gets another phone call and rejects it. Ari asks who it was and she explains it was Chloe’s father.
