Extended Summary

Bella joins Theo and Nikau at the Diner. They are about to head back to the Paratas’ for dinner. Bella is slightly surprised that Theo is coming and Nikau explains Theo talked him down over Felicity. Bella asks what happened with Chloe and Theo after the party and Theo says they had a good time. At the Parata house, Ryder and Chloe are cooking together. He checks it’s okay for him to stay and she notes they’re still friends. They agree they still have a business to run together and to keep their break-up quiet for now. Nikau comes in and is surprised to see Ryder there as Bella and Theo follow him in. Nikau suggests they get pizza instead but Ryder says they should all eat together and the others agree.

Ziggy gives Dean a figurine that Jai left in the fridge, probably to make up for eating all the biscuits. She checks Dean’s okay to go back to work. Dean says Nikau will be there to help him and Ziggy says Theo will be helping her out at the garage. At the hospital, Roo finds Alf asleep and tries to convince him to go home and get some sleep. Alf doesn’t want to leave Martha but Roo tells him she’s being looked after and convinces him that he’s better off having a shower and sleep.

The youngsters are eating in awkward silence. Chloe tries to break it by asking about the food. In the end, Ryder apologises to Theo. Nikau reacts furiously as Ryder goes on, saying while he didn’t like being kidnapped, Theo helped with the party and didn’t deserve to be treated the way he was. Theo accepts it and Ryder privately tells Chloe it was the right thing to do. Next morning, Ziggy and Dean run into Alf and Roo outside the surf club. They discuss the fundraiser and the fact Martha’s still critical. Alf reveals John wants a safety report from Dean.

Bella meets up with Nikau on the beach, realising there’s something up with him. Nikau sees Ryder and Chloe approaching and tells Bella that Chloe and Theo slept together and Theo told him. Bella guesses Ryder doesn’t know. Later, as Nikau is showering outside the surf club, Bella offers to tell Ryder. Nikau apologises for involving her. Bella notes she’s glad she heard about him and Sienna, as hard as it was. Nikau thinks Chloe should be the one to tell Ryder.

Theo arrives at the garage and meets Ziggy. He notes he expected her to be a guy and Ziggy retorts that she expected him to be on time. He asks which car she wants him to start on but Ziggy knows he isn’t qualified and says his work will be answering the phone, mopping the floor and making coffee. At the surf club, Dean is surprised by the amount of bookings they have. Nikau says he tagged it on his socials and Dean asks him about Tane. Ryder and Chloe are sat at a table nearby and discuss Ryder apologising to Theo and them needing to focus on the business.

Theo is sat in the office checking his social media posts. Ziggy tells him she’s going on lunch and asks him to call a customer, Mr Park, and ask if he’s okay with paying $120 for a new fuel pump: He doesn’t need to pay now. Theo makes the call (calling the customer Rod) but says it’s $320, taking payment. Outside the surf club, Ziggy is telling Dean that Theo barely does any work and is on his phone all the time. Dean praises Nikau and suggests Theo could come good, noting they were both rough around the edges to start with.

Ziggy returns to the garage and Theo proudly tells her he’s earned them some extra money, showing her the invoice. Ziggy says they give fair quotes and is angry to learn he took the money. Theo offers to split it but Ziggy tells him they don’t rip off customers, lie or steal. Theo mutters that he’ll call the customer back and sort it. Meanwhile, Alf and Roo arrive at the Diner. Alf wonders if they should tell people Martha can’t have flowers in ICU. Roo says she’ll be glad they’re brightening up other rooms. They try to be positive about her chances.

Nikau takes a selfie of himself at the surf club. Bella tells him they need to tell Ryder now and asks Dean if Nikau can take his break. Bella escorts Nikau to Chloe and Ryder’s table but Nikau just invites them to play a game of pool. At the garage, Theo sees Nikau’s social media post with Ryder and Chloe in the background. He tells Ziggy that he has a migraine coming on. Ziggy says he’d be insane to pretend to be ill on a busy day after being caught doing something dodgy but Theo ignores the subtext and says he hopes it’s just a one day thing.

Despite Nikau trying to break up the pool game, Bella blurts out that Theo told Nikau he slept with Chloe, just as Theo walks in. Ryder gets annoyed but Theo insists he never said that, just that they spent all night together. Chloe tells Nikau to get his facts straight and Ryder that she’s glad she dumped him: Everyone else is shocked and Ryder tries to claim it was mutual. Both Alf and Dean try to intervene as Bella asks Chloe whether she spent all night with Theo before or after breaking up with Ryder. Chloe says Bella’s always hated her for stealing Ryder from her and Bella retorts that Chloe’s easy to hate. Dean tries to stop Bella walking away and gets knocked over. Alf lectures the youngsters, saying there’s people in hospital, including their families. Chloe leaves and Alf takes Dean home. Theo and Ryder also leave. Nikau says they shouldn’t have got involved and goes to check on Tane, leaving Bella alone.

At the farm house, Dean struggles to open his bottle of pain medication. Ziggy comes in ranting about Theo scamming a customer and then walking out, and that she can’t get Justin to fire him because he’s Leah’s nephew. Dean finally manages to cut in, asking her to help him.
