Extended Summary

Logan is about to leave Salt when Ziggy comes rushing in and tells him about Dean ordering his physio out. Logan agrees to come back to the hospital with her, and Mackenzie decides to go too. When they get there, Ziggy is uncertain about seeing Dean. Logan and Mackenzie go in to see him and find him snapping at his nurse. Logan asks if he’s been given any extra pain relief and Dean sarcastically says that Logan’s the doctor. Logan agrees that he is and checks Dean’s notes.

Martha finds Alf sat outside the bait shop and drily comments on him being too busy to come with her. Alf says that he didn’t say he was too busy, just that he’s not going. Martha wonders if he has a problem with seeing Kieran. Alf says he has to get to the surf club. Once he’s there, Roo approaches him and confirms that Martha sent her. Alf tries to leave but, when Roo accosts him, says it’s nothing to do with Kieran, he’s just fed up of not staying in one place for long. Roo suggests he says that to Martha.

Tori and Christian come home from a day of wedding planning and tells Leah and Justin they’ve found two excellent venues but can’t decide on one: Christian favours a garden setting, while Tori’s choice is a rustic barn. Leah and Justin quickly bail to avoid being dragged into it, leaving their coffees behind. As they walk, they note it was better when Brody was helping with the planning. Justin complains about John not listening to them about not wanting help. Leah wonders if they should follow their dreams as John suggests or invest in the garage, pointing out Justin could go back to TAFE if Ziggy’s willing to run the garage again. She speculates they might be able to afford a bigger house from it.

Mackenzie brings Ziggy in to join Dean and Logan. Dean says he needs to do it himself and asks them to leave him alone. Logan agrees, shooing Ziggy and Mackenzie out and saying it’s just Dean’s pride. Mackenzie invites Ziggy to stay with her tonight. Logan insists on sticking around despite Dean saying he was included in the people he wanted to leave. Ziggy and Mackenzie turn up at the flat. Mackenzie finds a note from Bella saying she’s gone to stay with Willow in Queensland and notes that at least she’s told them where she’s gone. She wonders how they’re going to get Dean through this.

Logan is playing about with a ball in Dean’s room. Logan suggests Dean fought hard for Ziggy and Jai. Dean says he and Ziggy just got back together. Logan guesses that Dean doesn’t want Ziggy to see him weak. He says he saw a lot of injured soldiers push people they cared about away and not all of those people came back. Meanwhile, Alf and Roo join Martha at the Diner. Alf says that the art scene isn’t him and he has work to do at home, since he’s hardly been there. Martha says it won’t just be about art, there’ll be places for him to stop and fish as well. Alf ends up agreeing to go.

Christian and Tori are searching on their laptop, with Christian suggesting wine as gifts for the guests. Tori suggests some of what Christian calls “barn flowers”. Christian says they could save money on flowers by getting married in the garden and Tori retorts that it would probably rain. Leah and Justin return and quickly cry off from the planning, heading to their room. Next morning, Dean wakes up moments before Logan turns up with breakfast and encourages Dean to eat. Dean wonders why Logan’s there and Logan says that as far as he’s concerned Dean’s still his patient. He manages to convince Dean to start eating.

Ziggy and Mackenzie are outside the Diner and comment on Logan helping out Dean, although Mackenzie denies she wanted Logan with her. She then gets a text from Logan telling them to come to the hospital. In Dean’s room, Dean is up on his crutches and another physio, Clare, is encouraging him as he takes small steps. Ziggy and Mackenzie join Logan in watching him and Dean agrees they can stay. Mackenzie calls Logan a miracle worker.

Christian is preparing an aspirin in a kitchen full of empty wine bottles. Leah and Justin emerge as Christian and Tori learn they ordered a chocolate fondue fountain and a cheese tier cake for three months time, deciding they have a lot of things to cancel. Leah tells Justin this would be a good time to go and see Ziggy, as Tori asks Christian if he organised a photo booth. Outside the Diner, Roo and Martha watch as Alf loads a large amount of fishing rods in the car. Martha tells Roo that she’s going to drop in on the artist she mentioned. Alf checks this is going to be their last road trip. Martha says it is…for a few months.

Logan says his goodbyes, saying Dean owes him surf lessons. Dean asks why he and Mackenzie were together yesterday. Logan says he gave it a shot with her but she wasn’t interested. Logan and Mackenzie leave as Ziggy tells Dean that she is in it for the long haul with him. Meanwhile, Logan has given Mackenzie a lift to Salt. She offers him a coffee but he says he has to get going. He kisses her on the cheek and she looks confused.

Ziggy meets up with Justin near the Diner, telling him about Dean walking. She asks for time off to look after him, saying they’re back together. She then wonders what he wanted to talk about and Justin says he was just checking how things were going. At Salt, Mackenzie tells Ziggy about Logan and that she shut things down. Ziggy queries it, showing her that Logan has left his number on a beer mat.
