Mackenzie gets in a fight with Ryder and Chloe. Justin manages to hide his true motives. All Christian needs to do is pick up his suit.
Extended Summary
Mackenzie arrives back at the flat and calls out for Dean without response. She is getting a glass when she spots a note simply saying that he’s gone away and doesn’t know when he’ll be back. Down in the Diner, Irene brings Alf and Roo their tea and asks how the food truck is getting on. Roo says that Ryder and Chloe are working very hard and trying out recipes but Alf complains about the truck blocking the drive. Mackenzie comes in and asks if they’ve heard from Dean. Irene recalls Bella saying that he’d taken Jai to Movie World and Roo notes that was the surf comp prize. Mackenzie pretends she knew that, saying she just thought she’d have heard from him by now, and heads off to work.
Justin says that Ziggy shouldn’t have involved Leah. Leah thinks they have a right to be concerned, given that he’s been stressed and angry and having mood swings lately. Justin says that it’s because of Leah: She’s become obsessed with Susie and is always getting on at him about it. Christian comes in just in time to hear the tail end of the argument and see Justin storm out of the house. He offers to go after him. Meanwhile, Mackenzie is just arriving at the surf club and is accosted by John, who comments on her working a day and then taking three off. They hear Mexican-style music nearby and follow it to Ryder and Chloe’s food truck, which is already inundated with customers. Ryder tries to interest a passing Tori, while Chloe announces it’s two tacos for the price of one today.
Jasmine finds Tori setting up for a yoga session on the beach. Tori says all the wedding preparation is done and Jasmine notes she’s surprised at how calm Tori seems, since she was a mess in the run-up to her wedding. Tori cracks and admits that she’s freaking out and has loads to do. She enlists Jasmine’s help to go through her list. Meanwhile, Christian has tracked Justin down to a park area, saying Leah was upset and wondering if it’s really all about Susie: He suspects Justin’s back pain plays a part. Justin agrees with him and suggests they go to Salt to eat.
At the Diner, Roo finishes a phone call and tells Irene that Yabbie Creek Backpackers are going to try and find someone to help out at the bait shop. She hides this from Alf when he comes in; he asks Irene for a quick lunch since he needs to get to the surf club. Roo suggests he get John to help but Alf says he’s only just taken charge again. He then gets a call from John summoning him. Mackenzie is complaining about the food truck being set up outside her business. Ryder and Chloe retort that it’s a free country and people have chosen La Cucaracha. Chloe gives John some free food. Mackenzie asks if they have a health permit and safety permit which Ryder produces. However, when she asks if they have a trade waste permit, they look flustered.
Soon after, a fierce argument is raging inside the surf club with Mackenzie telling Ryder and Chloe to move the truck. Chloe says Salt doesn’t serve many Mexican dishes but Mackenzie claims it’s scaring her customers off. Alf and Roo arrive as Mackenzie says they don’t know about running a business and Chloe retorts that Ryder ran Salt for her. Mackenzie appeals to Alf, then accuses him of favouritism and threatens to call the rest of the committee. Alf says they tried to get rid of him once before but Ryder steps in, agreeing to move it. Later, Chloe wonders why Ryder caved and Ryder admits it was because Alf was getting angry. John comes along and tells them the food was good but wonders if they know what La Cucaracha means. They say it’s a song about revolution and John agrees…but says it also means the cockroach. Since they’ve spent the last of the money on the paint job, they’re stuck with it. Ryder notes at least they have dinner sorted which Chloe realises means tacos in the driveway.
Leah arrives at the Diner and asks Irene if she thinks her trying to find Susie is hard on Justin. Tori and Jasmine arrive and overhear. Despite Leah trying to deflect with questions about the dress, Tori insists they go for a walk. Tori also thinks that Justin’s mood swings have less to do with Susie and more to do with his back pain and Leah tells her about him losing it with Ziggy. Tori notes that at least they have a week away coming up.
Christian is on the phone to the suit hire place and says he’ll be there by six. Justin brings the drinks over and Christian asks what’s going on. Justin says he’s worried he’ll run out of pain medication, the car journey will make it worse and his specialist has no idea. Christian says they can find someone else and Justin suggests Christian could write him a prescription. At the counter, a random guy is making an order. Mackenzie takes over and asks if he’s there on his own, which he is. Christian tells Justin he can’t just give him a prescription and instead suggests scans to work out what’s going on. Justin says he thought it was a long shot and he’ll have the scans when they get back.
Tori and Leah are debating what clothes to bring. Justin and Christian turn up and Justin apologises for earlier. He and Leah decide to go to bed. After making sure they’re out of earshot, Christian suggests to Tori that they pay for the pair to fly to Victoria. Tori asks where his suit is and realises he forgot to get it. Christian initially suggests he can get one off the rack in Melbourne, then says he’ll get it first thing. Meanwhile, Mackenzie and the random guy arrive back at her flat. The guy tries to make small talk about the place before Mackenzie drags him to the bedroom.
Next morning, Ryder and Chloe have the food truck set up in the caravan park and are getting lots of custom. Alf notes there’s no conflict of interest if you own the place. Roo tells him to take the day off and she’ll do all the jobs around the caravan park. Ryder assures Chloe they’re not going to stay there forever or let Mackenzie get away with it. Roo quietly tells them to get rid of their sombreros, calling it cultural appropriation. Meanwhile, Tori and Justin have gone for a walk. Tori asks why Justin didn’t tell her about his pain and tells him she and Christian have arranged flights for them.
Tori and Justin arrive home to find Leah sorting out the cases. Justin tells her they need to check the weight and takes her aside to explain. Jasmine arrives with coffee and asks Tori if she’s terrified or excited. Tori admits both but says she just needs Christian to get back. At that moment, Christian is speeding along the country roads but grinds to a halt in front of a sign advertising skydiving and turns into the airfield.
