Extended Summary

On the pier, Bella is snapping shots of Nikau, who is trying to hide his face as he works. She gets a text saying Dean won the surf comp and has taken Jai and Amber to Yabbie Creek to celebrate, and dreams of taking advantage of their absence. Nikau gets another text from the modelling people but chooses to ignore them. Back at Salt, Ziggy is upset that Tane is ruining her victory with his questioning. Tane presses for information on Dean but all Ziggy will say is what she’s already told him: That Dean did something that was a deal-breaker. Tane leaves.

At the Diner, Irene teases Marilyn about how she’s gone deaf from someone blowing a whistle in her ear. Jasmine comes in and says Lewis has finished his psychiatric evaluation and is awaiting sentencing. Irene asks if there’ll be a trial and Jasmine says Lewis has confessed…including to killing three of Christian’s patients. At the Morgan house, Tori is relieved to have Christian home from hospital. Christian is keen for them to take advantage of having the house to themselves but Tori insists he needs to rest, scared at nearly losing him.

Irene and Jasmine are on the pier. Jasmine isn’t sure about going to the hearing and thinks Lewis needs profssional help, although his lawyer hasn’t told her what the result of the psych examination was. She isn’t sure about abandoning her friend. Irene tries to get Jasmine to go home but she’s had enough of doing that and decides to go to the gym instead. Irene tells her to look after herself first. Later, Ziggy runs into Tori at the surf club and tells her about her win before heading home to see Mackenzie. Jasmine appears from the gym and asks to speak to Tori.

Nikau and Bella arrive back at the Parata house for Nikau to have a shower, despite Bella complaining that he could have had it at hers in private. Nikau nips in before Tane. Bella awkwardly says she’ll wait in Nikau’s room but Tane says she doesn’t have to. He asks her about what Dean and Ziggy were like as a couple. Bella confirms she was around when they got together and says they were normal, sweet and annoying. Tane asks why they split up. Bella says she didn’t see much of them, although she admits Ziggy was living with them for a time. Nikau appears and shuts down the questioning: He and Bella leave.

In the gym, Tori blasts Jasmine for not noticing the signs that Lewis was psychotic. Jasmine is apologetic but points out that Tori also defended Lewis and missed the signs. She also tells her about Lewis’ confession. Tori is horrified and also unimpressed that Jasmine feels sorry for him. She refuses to let her visit Christian. Tori heads home and tells Christian that Jasmine ambushed her and about Lewis’ confession. Christian feels sorry for the patients and their families but also asks after Jasmine and hopes Lewis gets help. Tori is furious, wanting Lewis to be punished.

Bella and Nikau arrive back at the Diner flat. Bella notes she never thought about what Ziggy would tell Tane. Nikau doesn’t think he’d say anything if he knew but Bella comments that Tane might dob Dean in to keep him away from Ziggy. Nikau gets another text from the modelling agency and Bella points out he could block their number. Nikau halts her panicking with a kiss, reminding her they have the place to themselves. Next morning, Bella and Nikau run into Ziggy near the beach. Bella abruptly asks her what’s going on with Tane and demands she sort it without telling him the truth.

Ziggy goes to the Parata house and criticises Tane for dragging Bella into things. Tane says he has to get to work and isn’t happy that Ziggy still won’t tell him the truth. He reminds her that she said she couldn’t be with someone who kept secrets from her and says that goes both ways, also reminding her he’s kept away from her place for Mackenzie’s sake. Meanwhile, Bella and Nikau are sat outside the bait shop. Nikau is confident Ziggy will sort things. He gets another text and Bella teases him about how hard it is being offered a great job before telling him to sort it either way. Jasmine comes past on her way to a run.

Christian is on the phone as Tori plays with Grace. He confirms Lewis’ confession. Tori thinks he should be put away for life but Christian is happy with him being held for psychiatric treatment. Tori is still upset about having to resuscitate him and doesn’t want to be friends with Jasmine, despite Christian trying to point out that it isn’t Jasmine’s fault. Later, Christian is out for a walk and runs into Jasmine. She apologises but Christian says it wasn’t her fault and he wouldn’t be there without her and Tori. He assures her he’s all right but Jasmine isn’t sure about herself. Christian wants to move forward and talks about giving Tori a “little jolt”.

Tane meets Ziggy at hers. She says she wishes she could tell him what happened but she can’t. Tane guesses that it was something illegal and Bella was involved. Ziggy says she can’t tell him anymore but promises she’s committed to him and is going to tell Mackenzie he’s going to be at the house. She asks how long he has on his lunch break and Tane says it’s Ari’s job so they can fire him. At the Diner flat, Nikau finds Bella working on an assignment. She says Ziggy texted to say it’s sorted. Nikau reveals he’s arranged to meet the modelling agency people for lunch: It gets him a free meal and to tell them to leave him alone face to face. Bella points out he’ll have to make small talk about the fashion industry and Nikau begins to regret the decision.

Jasmine and Christian are sat in the Diner. Tori arrives with Grace, who she leaves with Marilyn. Irene wishes her luck as she approaches the pair’s table, but immediately declares she can’t do it. Christian stops her and tries to get her to talk to Jasmine, saying she can’t let Lewis destroy their relationship.
