Extended Summary

Ziggy is dancing energetically while Colby and Jasmine discuss the fact that he had a short marriage and she had a short engagement. Jasmine gets up to leave as Dean comes over and complains to Colby about Willow, saying she does his head in. Jasmine finds Willow in the toilet and Willow admits she’s hiding from Dean, having told him she wants to be with him one day. Jasmine isn’t convinced Dean will end up with Ziggy, saying it would be like Willow ending up with Colby. Willow says Dean’s the most beautiful, caring and loyal man she knows. Back in the bar, Ziggy helps herself to Dean’s drink and announces it’s time for a selfie. Willow comes past; Colby accosts her at the bar and asks why she made being with Dean about someone else. Willow says not to have a go. Ziggy announces she’s going to teach Brody a lesson.

Brody and Simone arrive at Salt, with Simone having offered to help close up. They have been traipsing around rentals and saw a lot of places they like in Yabbie Creek. Brody says getting out of Summer Bay will help. He gets a text from Ziggy saying “better off without u”, followed by a selfie of her and Dean. At the farm house, Ben and Maggie have sat up watching television. Ben wonders if he should text Ziggy to see how she is but Maggie thinks she wouldn’t answer and says they just have to trust her friends will take care of her. She thinks they should go to bed but Ben says he’ll sit up for a bit.

Ziggy takes a selfie of herself with Willow, Colby and Jasmine before going back over to Dean and continuing to take selfies with him. Colby and Jasmine discuss how sad it is that people don’t end up with who they should, then start kissing. Dean stops Ziggy’s selfie bomb, saying he’s not happy with her using him to get back at Brody. She walks off, leaving her phone behind, and Dean notices Willow looking at him. Colby and Jasmine stop kissing with a shrug, unaware they’ve been caught on one of Ziggy’s photos.

At Salt, Simone goes through the rental options on her tablet. Brody gets another text and Simone guesses it’s from Ziggy. Brody tells her what’s going on and wonders if he should text her back telling her to slow down. Simone doesn’t think she’d listen to him. Brody suggests going back to hers to choose a rental instead. At the club, Dean watches Ziggy arguing with the DJ and tells Colby he’s going to get her out of there. Colby offers to call a taxi but Dean says there’s too many of them so asks Colby to get Jasmine and Willow home while he takes care of Ziggy. Willow doesn’t look too happy about this. Dean drags Ziggy out of there.

Ben is asleep on the sofa as they arrive back at the farm house. Ziggy turns the lights on and gets a beer from the fridge. Ben wakes up and Maggie appears from the bedroom. Dean says he has a cab waiting outside and was just making sure Ziggy got in okay, telling Ben he’ll see him at work. Ziggy wants to carry on drinking and Ben snaps at her that it’s four in the morning and to stop being so selfish. Maggie doesn’t look happy but Ziggy does go to bed. Next morning, Colby is asleep on the sofa as Dean turns up with coffees. Dean is still trying to get his head around what Willow said, wondering if she actually expects him to wait for the rest of his life. Colby gets a text from Jasmine asking him to meet her at Salt now and says he has to go.

At Salt, Simone is filling out an application form and is worried that they want details of her employer, which is Maggie. Brody says her employer before that was him and suggests she choose someone further back but Simone says it has to be the current employer. Brody suggests they might not call her. Colby comes in and Brody asks about the previois night; he says he’s paying for it now. He joins Jasmine, with both of them somewhat aghast at the kiss. They agree it was a comfort thing and they’ll never mention it again.

Ziggy looks at her long list of texts to Brody. Ben tries to talk to her and he and Maggie say that writing herself off every night doesn’t help. Ziggy protests that she just wanted to forget about it and have fun, telling them to back off. At the surf club, Ben discusses it with Dean, who suggests Ziggy just needs to get it out of her system. Ben isn’t convinced. He leaves Dean in charge while he goes to the Palmers’. Colby comes over and offers to talk to Dean. Dean isn’t keen and reminds Colby he said he wouldn’t go there with Willow months ago. Colby admits he always though they’d end up together and advises Dean to talk to her.

Outside the Diner, Marilyn talks to Maggie about the work Ben’s doing for them, saying John’s at the hospital with Jett. She asks how things are with Maggie’s family. Simone comes over and awkwardly tells Maggie about putting her down on the rental application. Maggie is flabberghasted at the idea of being expected to give Simone and Brody a reference. Simone backs away, saying she’ll see her at school.

Outside the surf club, Brody approaches Ziggy, asking if she’s all right. Ziggy says it’s none of his business and Brody says in that case, stop texting him and making it his business. He walks away and Ben approaches Ziggy, who admits bombarding Brody with texts and knows she messed up. She apologises to Ben for how she acted.

Dean meets up with Willow on the beach after a class. He questions her about what she said and says he’s not interested in a relationship with anyone at the moment, citing Colby and Chelsea and Robbo and Jasmine as evidence they don’t work. He reminds her they’ve tried it twice and it’s been a mess both times. Willow says she’s worried about losing him and he promises she won’t.

At the Diner, Ben chats to Marilyn about how he just needs to fit a guard rail on the ramp. Marilyn says John will be home soon to help. Ben tells Maggie that he got delayed helping out Ziggy. Maggie gets a phone call and confirms that Simone wotks for her. Outside the surf club, Simone tells Brody she submitted the application. She says they should hear in a day or two, only to immediately get a text…saying they’ve been rejected.

Up in Salt, Brody leaves a voicemail asking why. Simone says she has good rental history. Brody admits he’s never really rented before but points out he owns a business. Simone suddenly gets an idea and tracks down Maggie near the beach, accusing her of giving them a bad reference. Maggie says she’d be quite happy for Brody and Simone to leave and gave her a complimentary reference. Simone doesn’t understand why they were rejected. Maggie asks how well she really knows Brody.
