Extended Summary

Brody and Simone are still in bed together in the cottage. Simone notes it was more comfortable than her van before saying this feels perfect. At the caravan park house, Leah and Justin come downstairs. Justin says he didn’t mean to stay over, he just passed out. Leah admits she did too, not long after him, but fortunately no-one’s about. At that moment, they hear Ryder coming and Leah quickly ushers Justin out the patio door. Ryder complains about being up at 7.30, explaining he has a shift at the juice bar. Leah asks if he’s working all day and he says he’s meeting Raffy after his shift. She asks if he’s home for dinner but he doesn’t know.

Colby and Bella arrive at the surf club, planning to head upstairs for breakfast, with Colby trying to get Bella to come and watch him surf. Bella sees Ryder and asks him if he wants to play pool. Ryder points out he’s working and quips that he can’t leave his post. Bella says she’ll have to settle for Colby. After she’s out of earshot, Colby asks Ryder if he’s working all day and asks him to do him a favour.

Raffy is in the Morgans’ garage where Mason is taking her blood pressure. He asks if she’s had a dry mouth, dizziness, nausea or light-headedness. Raffy says to just say no to all of them. Mason reminds her they’re doing it right this time. He gives Raffy a drop and she complains it still tastes foul. She wonders what cover story they’re going to use when her project’s finished. Mason says they’ll work that out when they get there. He is noncommittal when she suggests going to visit Jett.

Justin arrives back at the house and tries to shush Buddy when he gives him a bark of greeting. Mason and Raffy emerge from the garage and pretend they were working on her project. Mason queries Justin seemingly going out early and Justin says he had to check on something at the garage. They hear giggling from the back yard, where Brody and Simone are having breakfast, and go round. Mason asks if Simone stayed over and, when Brody confirms she did, walks off without saying anything else. Justin asks to talk to Brody inside while Simone goes to get dressed. Brody tells Justin that he should be able to have his partner over and about Dean giving Simone a hard time. Justin accepts that but says a heads up would have been nice and reminds him Mason and Raffy are only just getting used to them being together.

Brody rejoins Simone in the cottage and says Justin didn’t really say anything, just that they would have appreciated a heads up. He thinks the family will get used to it. Near the beach, Raffy tells Ryder that it was weird seeing Simone there and Ryder agrees that Ziggy was there just five minutes ago. He asks how things went with Mason; Raffy says it went all right. She suggests they go to Yabbie Creek now he’s finished work but Ryder says they’ve already got plans.

Bella is listening to music on her headphones. Colby tells her to take them off since they’ve got company, pointing to Raffy and Ryder standing awkwardly behind him. Ryder reveals he has a lot of 80s classics DVDs for them to watch. Colby says he’ll get them some food from the Diner while Ryder sets up the DVD player. Bella follows Colby to the door; she doesn’t know what to do and says Colby didn’t need to set up a play date for her. Colby thinks she’ll be fine but Bella looks like she wants the ground to open up and swallow her.

Downstairs in the Diner, Justin comments to Leah that he wonders if he’s a hypocrite but points out that the two of them aren’t hurting anyone or flaunting it whilst Brody and Simone don’t seem to care who they hurt. Leah says it was always going to happen and Justin notes it’s too soon, since it feels like the cottage is still Ziggy’s place. Colby appears and orders two burgers, two chickenburgers and two large fries, explaining about Bella having Raffy and Ryder over. Justin wishes him luck but Leah thinks it’s great.

Ryder finally gets the DVD working and he and Raffy banter about watching the film in another language. Bella turns it off and tells them she knows they’re only there because Colby made them. Raffy says that Colby might have invited them but they still wanted to come but Bella tells them to go. Ryder says to let them know if she changes her mind. Down by the beach, Brody meets up with Simone, who says going back to her caravan was fine and Dean is busy working or whatever it is he does. Brody suggests she move in with him.

Leah gives Colby his order and asks if Raffy and Ryder are likely to be round there long. Colby thinks they will given the number of DVDs Ryder brought. At a nearby table, Justin comments that it sounds like Leah’s got nothing on later. Leah suggests he do “nothing” with her at five. Justin says five thirty. As Justin’s leaving, he runs into Simone who tells him about Brody’s suggestion. Justin’s silence speaks volumes and he says he’ll talk to Brody.

Colby heads back up to the flat where Bella tells him about getting Raffy and Ryder to leave. She thinks he invited them over because of what she said yesterday. Colby says that Ross convinced her she only needed him, and having Dean and Willow in his life has got him through things. Bella points out that even if she does make friends with Raffy and Ryder, she’ll have to keep things from them. Colby suggests it could be a fresh start.

Justin approaches Brody outside the Morgan house and asks him about inviting Simone to move in. Mason appears at that moment and is furious, saying Brody doesn’t care about anyone else. Brody says to stay out of it and Mason retorts that’s hard when it’s in his back yard. Justin argues that they’re trying to patch things up with the Astonis and this won’t help, before pointing out that Simone came to him about it. Later, Brody is sat with Buddy before meeting up with Simone. He accepts that it’s a bit weird her moving into the cottage that used to belong to him and Ziggy, so suggests they get their own place instead, which she’s happy about.

Ryder asks Raffy if the 80s movies were too much. Raffy thinks it’s the fact Colby set it up without telling Bella, pointing out that Bella’s still getting used to the Bay. She suggests they ask her to spend time with them again next week. Bella approaches and apologises for before, with them agreeing to hang out now. Meanwhile, Justin turns up at Leah’s. They briefly chat about Brody before kissing and heading upstais. The phone rings and Leah says to let the machine get it. The machine picks up a message from Roo saying there’s been a change of plan.

At the surf club, Ryder and Raffy are aghast that Bella hasn’t been to the cinema since she was eight. Bella says Colby used to take her but she and Ross just watched the TV or DVDs. They decide to go together next week. Colby appears and Bella says she’s hanging out with her friends and he can go. Ryder gets a text from Roo and says she’s coming back tonight and catching a taxi. At that moment, Roo arrives home and finds no-one to greet her. She notices Justin’s jacket and, hearing whispers in the hall, tiptoes through and finds Leah and Justin kissing. She greets them, amused.
