Ziggy and Brody’s relationship dramas come to a head. Maggie confronts Simone and Brody. Mason’s decision to help Raffy might cross the line.

Extended Summary

Ziggy staggers away from the caravan, shocked. Brody comes out, with his shirt still unbuttoned, and tries to get her to talk to him. Ziggy says she knew Simone would do this. She sees her in the caravan doorway, wearing a dressing gown, and lunges at her; Brody restrains her and tells Simone to go back inside. Ryder passes nearby, headphones in, and sees the altercation. Ziggy tells Brody to stay away from her. At the Morgan house, Justin and Mason banter about Raffy doing an autopsy on the contents of their fridge; Mason is still putting together a list of projects for her. They hear Brody and Ziggy arguing. Ziggy says she’s going to go to her parents. Brody wants to explain but Ziggy says nothing can erase the image of him and Simone together. As she walks away, Justin and Mason arrive and Mason asks what’s going on.

At school, Ryder tells Raffy about the argument he witnessed. Raffy is dismissive, saying Brody and Ziggy always argue, but is confused as to why they were both at the caravan park. She stops Simone, who looks a bit anxious, and says she hasn’t worked out a hypothesis for her project yet. Simone says she’s got another week and they can discuss it at lunch. She looks anxious again when she passes Maggie, who is on the phone to Ben, but Ben is simply boasting that since Dean turned up he has a leisurely day at home. After Ben hangs up, Ziggy arrives back in tears and he comforts her.

Outside the Morgan house, Mason is reacting in disbelief to what Brody’s done. Justin convinces him to go to work. Brody says he was going to tell Ziggy but Justin is unimpressed. Back at the farm house, Ben is shocked as Ziggy fills him in. She wonders if it was a one-off or if it’s been going on for weeks and recalls that she’s been suspicious for a while. He suggests that she needs to find out what Brody wants. Ziggy says she hates him and Ben agrees that’s a valid reaction. Ziggy wonders if it was a mistake he wants to get past and doesn’t know what to think.

Simone is in her office; she gets a text from Brody asking if she’s all right. Raffy arrives for her session and Simone suggests they do some memory exercises. Maggie checks in but then gets a phone call from Ben; as she listens to him, she turns and gives Simone a cold look. Raffy asks when they can start and Maggie prompts Simone to answer before walking away, asking Ben how Ziggy is. At the Morgan house, Mason arrives back and, despite Justin’s efforts, immediately starts laying into Brody, saying he had the perfect life with Ziggy, he worked through his addiction to get it, and now he’s thrown it away. Brody insists it wasn’t a random one night stand: He loves Simone and wants to be with her. Ziggy arrives just in time to hear this.

Simone runs after Maggie in a school corridor and asks if they need to talk. Maggie tells her never to talk to her about anything other than school business and says she has to get home. In the Morgans’ garden, Ziggy asks Brody if he meant what he said. Brody says he didn’t mean for it to happen but it wasn’t a one-off: He and Simone weren’t together the whole time Ziggy was suspicious but were for some of it. Ziggy says he was her best friend, the person she loved and trusted most. Brody says he wanted them to work, suggesting things were intense when they got married and maybe they rushed. Ziggy is unimpressed at him blaming Maggie’s cancer. Brody says he’s sorry. Ziggy says it’s just words.

Maggie is with Ben at the house when she gets a call from Ziggy asking to pick her up. Ben suggests Maggie goes on her own since he’s not sure he can trust himself around Brody. Maggie isn’t sure if she can either. Ziggy is waiting out the front of the Morgan house; Justin is with her, since he’s not sure she should be on her own. Ziggy asks if he knew and Justin admits he did, saying he wasn’t happy about it. Maggie arrives; Ziggy says she needs her things but can’t face going back. Maggie tells her to wait in the car.

Maggie packs up Ziggy’s things at the flat. Brody offers to help but Maggie says his responsibility to Ziggy has ended. Brody insists he didn’t mean to hurt her. Maggie says he was part of their family and finds it unfathomable that, after everything he’s gone through with them, it didn’t matter enough to stop him throwing it away. Maggie and Ziggy head back to the farm house and join Ben. Ziggy stands on her own. At the school, Simone is crying in her office. Brody arrives and comforts her, while Maggie comforts Ziggy and Ben looks on.

Mason joins Justin in the house and Justin comments on having to work with Ziggy. Mason says it’s not their fault since they didn’t know, then realises that Justin did and that’s what he and Brody were fighting about. He is furious that both Tori and Brody have cheated, Brody on Ziggy and Tori going behind Robbo’s back, and it’s resulted in them getting what they wanted: Tori with the baby and Brody with Simone. He gets a text saying Raffy’s coming round. Justin says he shouldn’t tell Raffy or Tori what’s happened. Mason notes keeping secrets from each other is situation normal. Later, Justin is at Salt, drinking a bottle of beer. Leah arrives and notes he looks like he needed it. Justin orders another one and accepts Leah’s offer of company.

Raffy arrives at the Morgan house and asks Mason if Brody and Ziggy were fighting. Mason dodges the question but tells her they’re going to do a different project: Extracting chlorophyll from eucalyptus leaves. Raffy is unimpressed, dubbing it boring, but Mason says it’s cover for what they’re really going to be doing: He’s going to put her on a medical trial, using the equipment to extract cannabis oil. Raffy is worried they’ll get in trouble. Mason says you have to break the rules to get what you want.
