Extended Summary

Brody and Simone are still in bed. Brody notes this was an excellent idea but Simone says the jury’s still out. She admits that she’s still not sure about going back to work at Salt. Brody’s phone keeps vibrating and he eventually checks it, finding missed calls and messages from Mason about Ziggy being in hospital. Brody dashes down there where Ben tells him about her collapsing from dehydration and exhaustion. Brody goes into her room and Maggie gives them space. Ziggy notes it’s her first and last half marathon. Brody says he’ll stay with her.

At the Diner, Bella is asking Colby about Willow while Colby gets a message from Chelsea asking to meet at her van. Ryder and Raffy turn up, talking about Coco leaving, and Colby suggests Bella stay with them, since he has to see Chelsea. Ryder convinces Bella to join them for Coco’s farewell. Colby meets Chelsea at the caravan park and asks if she got his message about Willow, since she didn’t respond. Chelsea reminds him he promised to be the husband she deserved and asks if he thought about that before pulling the trigger. Colby looks awkward and Chelsea says she didn’t think so.

Ben, Maggie and Coco are waiting outside Ziggy’s room. Ben notes that it’s overshadowed Maggie completing the marathon. Coco isn’t sure about catching her flight now this is going on and Maggie suggests they wait and see what happens. Brody comes out of Ziggy’s room, saying she’s out of it. He offers to stay with her if the others want to get on. After they’re out of sight, he calls Simone, who is working at Salt. Justin and Mason are at the bar and Simone notes they’re wondering why she’s there. Brody confirms Ziggy’s going to be fine and Simone agrees to close up for him.

Colby and Chelsea are going for a walk in the park. Chelsea says she doesn’t hate Colby but hates what he’s done to them. She asks if he regrets what he did. Colby says he regrets how it’s affected her and them but isn’t sad that Ross is dead. Chelsea says she can’t stay and be his wife knowing this: She’s going to go to the city and take the course, on her own. Later, she is packing cases into her car. Colby protests that he still loves her. Chelsea says she still loves him but that’s not the issue: He can’t take back what he did and she can’t live with it. She gives him the ring back and says goodbye before driving off.

Brody goes back into Ziggy’s room to find her fully awake and sitting up. Ziggy admits she only took part in the race because she was angry with him. She says she understands Salt’s important to him, and if it’s good to have Simone there then she’s fine with that. Brody tells her she was wrong about him being happier working at Salt than being with her and he loves her. Coco, Maggie, Ben, Ryder, Raffy, Bella and Justin pile in, with Coco explaining they’ve moved her farewell there. While everyone else chats and eats pizza, Brody heads out into the corridor and Justin follows. Brody says he was going to make some calls while Ziggy was busy. Justin asks about Simone being at Salt and Brody says she was just filling in.

Later, Ziggy asks Coco about her move. Coco says she’ll only be gone in term time. Raffy asks what will happen if she gets a new best friend who invites her to sail around the Great Barrier Reef. Coco says Summer Bay beats that. Ben notes the doctor says Ziggy has to stay in overnight. Brody excuses himself, saying he’ll check on Salt and come back later. He heads to Salt and meets up with Simone who says all the hard work’s done. She returns her employment contract unsigned, saying she’s still not comfortable working there. Brody admits it was hard seeing Ziggy hurt. Simone says she’ll see him in the morning.

Looking in the fridge, Colby asks Bella if she’s eaten and is told she has for the third time. Bella wonders what’s on his mind, worrying it’s about Willow. Colby says it’s about Chelsea: She’s gone to the city forever. He says she grew up differently to them and couldn’t handle what happened with Ross, stressing that it’s not Chelsea’s fault or Bella’s. He refuses to discuss it further, sending her to bed.

Next morning, Maggie, Ben, Ryder, Raffy and Ziggy are all gathered to say farewell to Coco outside the Diner. Raffy hopes for good WiFi, Ryder says he’s hoping to see her become a famous environmentalist so he can tell everyone he knew her, Ben says he’s proud of her, and Coco thanks Ziggy for putting up with her and tells her to go easy on Brody. Maggie looks teary and Ziggy reminds her she’s going on the flight. After a last round of farewells, Maggie and Coco drive off, while Ryder and Raffy go to the juice bar. Ziggy notes Ben’s now an empty nester and he replies he and Maggie have been looking forward to having the place to themselves. Ziggy notes she thought Brody would spend more time with her if he loved her, but now she realises he does.

Simone finds Brody in the store room at Salt. He says Ziggy ending up in hospital reminded him that he still loved her. Simone says she never thought of herself being the other woman. Brody says she’s more than that and there’s a real connection between them, meaning he can’t let her go. He asks her to accept the contract. Meanwhile, Justin goes to the gym to see Mason. Both of them wonder where Brody was when they couldn’t get hold of him, since he wasn’t at Salt and now Simone’s there. Justin notes last time Brody was like this he was on drugs, but Mason thinks he or Ziggy would have noticed something. Raffy comes in, upset about Coco going, and Mason gives her a hug.

Colby is sitting alone on the pier. Bella comes over and joins him, saying that they don’t need Chelsea. She cuddles up to him.
