Extended Summary

Tori runs into Justin outside the surf club and says she needs to get out of there. Justin asks if she’s OK and she says she’s not: She’s insane. Arriving home with him in tow, she searches the fridge for a bottle of wine. Justin takes it off her, asking what she’s done. Tori says nothing yet, but the fact she’s thinking it is bad enough: She wants Robbo to be her donor. Justin hopefully asks if she means she wants him to donate money. Tori says that’s not what she wants him to donate.

Ben, Maggie and Coco enter the Diner, with Coco making them promise to let them know if Maggie’s results show up anything. Raffy is sitting alone and Ryder joins her. The Astonis chat to Marilyn about Maggie going in for more tests. The adults encourage Coco to go and sit with her “friends”. Coco makes a show of being friendly, which Ryder tries to treat as genuine, but Raffy says nothing. Coco says they should go and they say their farewells to the grown-ups, who are pleased the trio are getting on again. Out on the beach, Raffy asks if they drop the act now and Coco readily agrees, saying she now knows what Raffy’s really like. Ryder tries to protest but Coco drags him away.

In the caravan park, Dean notices an attractive young woman walking about but is interrupted when Alf appears with a letter for him. Dean opens it: His court date is in two weeks. Alf says he must have been expecting it and to keep his nose clean until then. Up on the headland, Robbo is finishing off a gym class. Dean joins him and comments on his new job. Robbo similarly congratulates Dean on getting his apprenticeship. Dean asks where Colby is. Robbo says he’s at work but Willow will be at the gym later. He tries to get Dean to come for a work out but Dean leaves.

Tori is making her way through the bottle of wine while Justin tries to get his head around her plan. Tori considers it pragmatic; Robbo has the qualities she wants while all the people at work are too young, attached or irresponsible. Justin thinks asking Robbo is the definition of complicated. He asks if she intends to co-parent with him but Tori says she just wants a sample. Justin isn’t convinced Robbo would be able to let the child grow up without any involvement and is also unconvinced about a child inheriting Robbo’s ability to use a gun. He realises Tori is still going to ask him. Tori heads to the gym where Robbo asks where she disappeared to earlier. Tori babbles that she had to call the hospital to check on her patients because she loves sick people…then says she’s just there for a work out.

Ryder and Coco are at the surf club for lunch. Coco complains when Raffy comes in. Raffy says she thought they’d be at the Diner and offers to go but Coco says they’re going. John finds Raffy at the same table Ryder and Coco were at a moment earlier and wonders what’s going on, since they left their food. Raffy says she needs to study on her own. John agrees it’s more important than friends. Outside the caravan park house, Coco is deleting photos of Raffy from her phone. She complains that Raffy tried to split them up and then caused trouble with her parents. Ryder mildly tries to suggest that wasn’t Raffy’s fault but Coco says she’s turned from her best friend to a back stabber. Ryder says he feels sick and is going to lie down.

Robbo is holding a punchbag for a client while Tori half-heartedly lifts dumb bells. She tries to approach Robbo but stumbles and twists her ankle. While Robbo fits an ice pack, she tries to talk to him but is interrupted by a client calling him over. Back at the caravan park, Dean again sees the attractive guest before kicking an AFL/rugby ball to Ryder. He comments on Ryder wagging school, saying it didn’t do him much good. Ryder says he’s made a mess of things: If he tells the truth his girlfriend dumps him, if he doesn’t his best mate gets shafted. Dean says good mates are hard to come by but Ryder says his girlfriend’s hot: He can’t believe she’s with him and doesn’t want her to break up with him. Dean can’t quite place Coco or Raffy but says girls come and go but mates stick by you.

Justin is finishing a phone call with Mason as Tori joins him: Mason didn’t find Dempsey. They’re both sorry for him being pushed out. Tori says she didn’t tell Robbo because she was clumsy. Justin thinks she’s got the hots for him but Tori says she just wants his DNA but it was awkward. Justin says she can’t just walk up to him and ask him, she needs to have a conversation. He also adds that he still think it’s lunacy but if she’s going to do it she needs to treat it like a business transaction. Tori repeats the phrase to herself. She goes to see Robbo at his flat and says she was distracted early. She suggests they have dinner together, saying it’s just a catch-up.

Dean is on the phone, presumably to his lawyer, wondering what he has to do in court. He asks what he’s likely to get and is shocked to hear ten years, saying he’d better make the most of the time he has left. Seeing the attractive guest again, this time he approaches her and introduces himself. She introduces herself as Claudia and he invites her to his van for a drink. Later, he goes to see Robbo, who is about to leave for his dinner with Tori. Dean asks about when Robbo thought he was going to jail for being Beckett Reid, whether he was scared. Robbo says he knew he deserved it so there was no point feeling sorry for himself. Dean is unsure about Robbo’s insistence that dinner with Tori isn’t a date.

Ben and Maggie are chatting to Marilyn again at the Diner: Maggie’s test results were good so they want chocolate cake to celebrate. She might even be going back to school soon. Meanwhile, Raffy is sat on the wharf. Ryder approaches and she sarcastically reminds him she’s the enemy. Ryder admits he sold her out and sucks at being a friend. Raffy says it hurt that he didn’t stand up for her. Ryder insists that he’ll tell Coco the truth, for real this time.

Coco goes round to see Ryder, bringing him a drink. Ryder tells her that Raffy was just sticking up for him. Coco says she lied, then realises she didn’t. Ryder says he didn’t badmouth her but feels their relationship is one-sided at times and felt let down when she stood him up. Coco is angry that he not only complained to Raffy instead of talking to her but let her push Raffy away. She walks out, leaving Ryder upset. Meanwhile, Justin and Tori turn up at the surf club with Justin giving her a last minute pep-talk and also warning her it’s going to be weird however Robbo responds. Robbo appears and wonders if Justin’s joining them. Justin firmly says he isn’t and leaves. Tori and Robbo head upstairs: Tori has the expression of someone about to face a firing squad.
