Robbo comes to the rescue. But is he too late to save Colby? Leah disapproves of Hunter and Christina’s budding relationship. Justin makes a shocking confession to Willow.
Extended Summary
Hunter follows Christina up from the beach. She says what happened was unprofessional and inappropriate. Hunter agrees but also makes it clear that he doesn’t mind, saying he only pulled away because he was shocked. He convinces Christina that they should go to the gym as planned. Meanwhile, Justin is on the phone to his lawyer discussing mediation over Ava. Willow turns up with her bags; Justin has convinced her to move in, since he can’t keep her at the motel. He insists the rest of the family are fine with it, pointing to Buddy lolling on the couch, and says she can have Brody’s old room. Mason comes in and jokes she must be another fugitive if she’s fine staying with her ex. Willow says she has a gambling addiction and Tori and Justin have been helping her. Mason is slightly bemused by the honesty but assures her he was only joking. Justin tells Willow she didn’t need to say that but Willow thinks she needs to own it. Justin suggests she needs to talk to Dean too.
Jasmine is on the phone to the police: She doesn’t have the address and tells them to follow Robbo’s ankle monitor. Ebony is taunting Colby at the house, saying she’s going to track Bella down and do to her what Colby did to her brother. Robbo speeds along the road towards them. Colby starts calling Ebony Lisa, saying he’s seen her hospital record and knows her mother abused her. Willow turns up at the flat and hears the end of Jasmine’s conversation with the police. Jasmine fills her in and also tells Colby that Robbo and the police are on the way. Colby tells Ebony that if she lets him go, then she’ll get help instead of going to jail, and suggests it’s what Boyd would want. Ebony coldly says Boyd would want him to burn in hell. She leaves the previously locked room and starts pouring petrol on the floor at the entrance of the room Colby’s in. Colby hammers frantically on the door.
At the Diner, Alf, John and Marilyn discuss the fact Ty’s decided not to see his mother, with John insisting they didn’t influence him. Leah comes in, having just arrived back in town. She says Luc is walking and talking and VJ and Ash are both settling in in Cyprus. She asks about Hunter and it’s clear she doesn’t know about the coaching opportunity. At the surf club, Hunter and Christina exit the gym. Hunter thinks Christina worked him hard for making inappropriate comments but Christina says it’s basic training. Hunter suggests they have another session like on the beach and strokes her face, just as Leah walks in. Christina quickly leaves. Hunter asks after VJ and says Christina’s just a friend from uni, taking Leah for a bite to eat upstairs.
Ebony empties the last of the petrol. Colby tries using his top to block up the gap under the door but chokes on the fumes and retreats to the far corner. Ebony prepares to use a lighter but Robbo appears and yells at her to stop. Willow’s phone is constantly vibrating as she and Jasmine try to find out what’s going on. Colby tells them that Robbo’s there. Robbo tells Ebony he’s sorry for using her and says if she ignites the fumes the whole place will go up. Ebony is unmoved and drops the lighter. Robbo leaps forward and catches it. Ebony runs outside just as a police car draws up and Murray shouts at her to stop. Robbo and Colby emerge and Ebony babbles that he made her kill her mum. Murray arrests her for Hazel’s murder.
At the Diner, Leah chats to Alf and Marilyn about how Hunter seems to have a great opportunity. Marilyn agrees, although she needs to be told that the Comets are a basketball team, not AFL. Mason comes in and notes he’d be pleased if he had a lecturer as hot as Hunter’s. Leah asks what Hunter’s lecturer looks like. At Salt, Mason joins Justin, who says he’s been trying to get hold of Willow. Mason says he’s been to the beach, the Diner and home and not seen her. He understands gambling’s an illness but doesn’t understand why Justin’s helping her rather than Colby or Dean, especially after everything she did to him. Justin says there are things Mason doesn’t know but insists he’s just helping a mate.
Jasmine and Willow look on as the police take the laptop as evidence. Robbo and Colby arrive, having been giving statements, and Jasmine gives Colby a hug. They note that Ebony basically confessed so the murder charge against Robbo should be dropped, although he could still face punishment for breaking bail. Colby hasn’t got his job back but this should help with the tribunal next week. He thanks everyone before heading in the shower. Jasmine notes she thought they’d both die and they’re acting like it’s nothing. Robbo says they’re used to it. He suggests Jasmine stay until Colby’s out of the shower. Willow decides to go, saying to tell Dean she was looking for him, and sees she has several text messages from Justin.
At the surf club, Leah asks Hunter why he didn’t tell her Christina was his lecturer, saying it’d be morally and ethically wrong to have a relationship with her. Hunter says nothing’s happened but doesn’t think it’d be a big deal if it did. Leah says she’s in a position of power and it could hurt his chances of a placement. Christina arrives and Leah gives her a glare before leaving. Hunter asks if it would affect his placement if something happened between them. Christina says she can keep things separate. They agree to another “session on the beach”.
Willow chases after Justin, saying she got caught up in something crazy. Justin thinks she’s been gambling and isn’t happy. Willow walks away, saying she’s not going to stick around to be judged. Soon after, at the Morgan house, Buddy is placidly watching as Willow packs her bags. Justin enters on the phone to Robbo, pleased that Ebony being caught will help him get access to Ava. He hangs off when he sees Willow, telling her he knows what happened. Willow still wants to leave. Justin protests she has no job and nowhere to go. Willow presses him to say why he wants to help her and he ends up shouting that he loves her.
