Extended Summary

Willow is sat outside the Morgan house. Justin joins her and apologises for laying it on her when he said he loved her. Willow suggests he’s confused and points out she hurt his family. Justin says what happened to Ava was out of her control. Willow says she hurt him too by going with Dean. Justin agrees but says he gets it and can’t help how he feels. Willow suggests she should leave but Justin convinces her to stay for tonight and asks her to forget what he said. At Salt, Ziggy joins Brody for a meal but admits she already ate with Ben. Brody tries to talk about their future but Ziggy cheerily greets Olivia and Irene, exchanging stories about Olivia finally finishing the wedding dress. No sooner have they gone than Coco appears and says she missed the bus. Brody says they can talk tomorrow.

Ziggy and Coco turn up at the hospital. Coco says she’s meeting Ryder at Salt tomorrow for their second first date. Ziggy notes that’s where they had their first first date. Coco recalls being confused then and suggests it’s different now but refuses to discuss it. They join Ben and Maggie, with the latter noting her appetite’s back. Coco hopes that means the transplant’s worked. Next morning, Justin and Dean run into each other on the beach. Dean says he’s just got back to town and has heard about Colby. Justin says Willow’s seeing a counsellor and going to gamblers anonymous. He asks about the debt but Dean makes it clear he doesn’t want help. Justin suggests Dean go and see Willow.

Ziggy finds Brody at Salt, noting he was asleep when she got back and then left for work before it was light. They agree to meet up later after Brody’s set up and Ziggy’s been to the hospital. Ziggy correctly guesses that a table Brody is reserving is for Ryder and Coco’s date. At the Morgan house, Willow ponders to Buddy what she’s going to do. Dean knocks on the door and says he got back late the previous night. Willow says she’s not sure how long she will stay there and also isn’t keen that he took on her debt. Dean says it was his choice. Willow looks uncomfortable and abruptly shuts the door on him.

Shortly after, Dean is outside the surf club, on the phone to Brett trying to arrange another job. He runs into Ziggy, who wonders what’s going on with him. Dean says he’s thinking of leaving town: He only came there for Ash, and now he’s sleeping on Colby’s couch and scraping together money. Ziggy suggests other people would miss him. Later, Ziggy and Coco are visiting Ben and Maggie again; Coco has brought flowers and suggests she and Maggie could pick some from the garden soon. They discuss Coco and Ryder’s date, bringing up the fact they had their last date at Salt again. Ziggy insists on taking Coco to get ready. Once in the corridor, Coco admits she feels she wants more with Ryder: She doesn’t want advice and hasn’t made up her mind. Ziggy gets a text from Brody saying he’s free. Wincing, she instead arranges to have coffee with Coco.

At the surf club, Ryder tells Roo he’s settled on a simple date of burgers and then a walk. Alf sends Ryder to collect a delivery from outside. Roo asks Alf if he’s had a chat with Ryder yet. Alf suggests that’s more her department. Despite her protests, when Ryder comes back, Alf says Roo wants to talk to him and quickly leaves. Roo says she didn’t take adults’ advice when she was Ryder’s age and that’s how she knows he should. Ryder pretends not to know what she’s talking about for a moment, then says he and Coco talked a while back and decided to take things slow and just have fun. Outside, Ziggy is talking to Coco about her decision, saying taking that step makes things more intense. Coco says Ryder’s been a good support but Ziggy isn’t sure that’s a good enough reason. She gets another text and asks Coco to wait five minutes. As she heads towards the surf club, she bumps into Willow and tells her that Dean’s considering leaving town.

Justin and Brody are chatting in Salt. Justin says Nina is still arguing Ava could be in danger despite both Ebony and Hazel being out of the picture. He also admits he dropped the L word on Willow. Brody says a gambling addiction is like a narcotics one: Relationships are discouraged. Justin says he told Willow to forget about it but thinks maybe they can get back together some time. Ziggy arrives and Justin leaves. Ziggy says Coco is having major boy drama and asks to take a rain check. Meanwhile, Justin and Willow walk and talk, discussing him getting access to Ava. Justin says Tori and Mason are happy for Willow to stay at the house while he’s in the city. Willow indicates they can talk about what he said when he gets back and wishes him luck.

After a nurse has done checks, Ben and Maggie muse about the fact Coco and Ziggy seemed to be hiding something. Ben thinks it’s normal for teenagers but Maggie notes Coco never used to. Roo arrives and tells them that she spoke to Ryder and thinks things will go fine between him and Coco. At the surf club, Alf asks Ryder if Roo spoke to him. Ryder tries pretending not to understand again but Alf isn’t fooled. Ryder says he just feels lucky Coco’s interested in him. Alf suggests Ryder has more going for him than he thinks after the way he’s supported Coco and Ty. Ryder notes he hasn’t been paid. Alf only has $50, which Ryder is happy to take.

Dean and Willow walk on the beach. Willow says what happened before wasn’t down to him but to her feeling guilty about what she said before he left. She wonders why he bothers with her and Dean says she knows why. He says leaving town was just a thought. Willow says she wouldn’t want to lose her best friend. Dean knows that she loves Justin. At the Diner, Olivia tells Irene that she’s just helped Ziggy and Coco pick out an outfit for Coco’s date. She gets a text and is half-excited, half-panicked as she explains one of the biggest wedding dress companies are offering her an interview as a designer and even paying for her to fly to Melbourne. Irene says she’d better get packing.

In the flat, Dean is on the phone to a friend who works at a construction site in Reefton Lakes asking about work but doesn’t get very far. He goes to his bag and takes out the forged credit cards.
