Extended Summary

Brody is at the Morgan house feeding Buddy when Tori and Mason arrive home and remind him he moved out. Tori takes a paper bag from her things as Brody and Mason chat about Willow going to visit Russell. Tori, who is rather fidgety and distracted, asks if she looks sick and Mason replies that she’s just acting weird. She goes into the bathroom and takes a pregnancy test out of the bag, hiding it among the towels. Brody and Mason decide to play Xbox. Later, the pair are hammering frantically at the controls as Brody wins a game. Mason tells Tori it’s her turn. Tori suggests they should be spending time with their wife and revising respectively but Mason tells her to sit down and relax.

Coco and Ziggy have gone to see Ben and Maggie at the hospital. Coco shows off her outfit and says she’s ready. Ziggy says it’s okay to wait or change her mind but Maggie, missing the subtext, says Coco’s old enough to do what she wants. She tells Ben to give Coco $50 so she’s not dependant on a man; he’s assured that fathers don’t count. Coco and Ziggy leave and Ben goes to get Maggie a drink. When he comes back, he finds her in tears. She notes that Ziggy getting Coco ready reminded her that the girls’ lives are going on without her. Ben assures her it won’t be for long.

Ziggy and Coco arrive at Salt where Ryder is waiting for her at his table. Ziggy says she’ll have her phone on and gives Coco a code word for if she wants rescuing. She wonders if she should stay there with Brody but Coco points out he’s not there and sends Ziggy away. Ryder starts to say he thought Ziggy was going to be a chaperone but Coco cuts him off with a kiss and they sit. Ziggy heads downstairs, leaving a phone message for Brody apologising for missing him. She encounters Dean, who comments on his lack of job prospects. A lifeguard bumps into him and he drops his wallet. Ziggy picks it up and wonders why he has a credit card in the name Susan Lanstone.

Coco jokes about Ryder ordering pizza instead of oysters this time while he comments on her habit of licking her lips. He wonders why they broke up, then apologises for being jealous and telling her who to be friends with. Coco suggests he wasn’t wrong and she should have accepted his support. She suggests they skip to dessert and then get out of there. Downstairs, Ziggy tells Dean the fake credit cards aren’t the way. Dean thinks a daddy’s girl like her has never been short of money, which she finds slightly disconcerting. She suspects it’s because he’s heartbroken over Willow and won’t tell anyone. She offers to shout him a pizza and play pool.

Brody is leaving a frantic phone message for Ziggy, having missed her call. Tori and Mason suspect there’s a problem and he says that nothing’s changed since he and Ziggy got married: They’re still living separate lives. Both of them suggest he talk to her about it. Tori says she’ll drive him to the surf club and tells Mason to feed Buddy. Mason goes to get a towel and finds the pregnany test. At the Diner, Leah is telling Irene about how Luc is walking and talking, both in English and Greek, and how VJ and Ash take it in turns to read her stories. Tori comes in and greets Leah, asking about Cyprus and, after an awkward pause, about Ash. She wonders if he’s seeing anyone new. Leah says he isn’t but he is trying to get a job and a place to stay. Tori concludes he’s not planning to come back.

Dean messes up a shot and suggests to Ziggy that he’s going easy on her because of her helping him and because she’s hot. Brody appears at that point and tells Dean to take a walk. He reminds Ziggy she was meant to be helping Coco. Ziggy says she was but got distracted after dropping her off upstairs. Brody says they never spend time together. Ziggy suggests they drive to a secluded spot but Brody snaps that it’s not about that and they never talk about the future. He heads upstairs where Ziggy finds him on the balcony and concedes he’s right. She suggests they get a bottle of wine and go somewhere to talk.

Ryder and Coco walk on the beach. Ryder notes it’s going better than their first date and Coco says she’s not going to run off this time. She suggests they go to her place for some “alone time”. Ryder looks shocked and Coco quickly withdraws the suggestion and tries to hurry off. Ryder stops her, pointing out she said she wasn’t ready. Coco says she wants to enjoy the moment. Ryder suggests they wait for the right time and place for it to be special. Meanwhile, Dean goes back to the flat where he smashes the skimmer and cuts up the credit cards.

Ben and Tori go into Maggie’s room. Tori says she has good news: Maggie’s cancer markers are right down, indicating the stem cell transplant has worked. She says they’ll still need to monitor it but if things carry on improving she can go home in a few days. Tori heads to her office where Mason produces the pregnancy test and notes she hid it where anyone could find it. Tori says she meant to do the test that afternoon since her period’s late, testily noting it would be Ash’s when Mason asks. She babbles that he’s not coming back but would if she told him and she’s not sure if she wants that. Mason tells her to take the test and see if she needs to freak out or not. Meanwhile, Ben and Maggie discuss telling the girls their news and getting her home. Although they each hide it from the other, both look worried.

Tori goes home and calls out, then produces the test. Buddy watches her curiously as she waits for the results. She looks at the test, then looks upset.
