Will Colby walk headfirst into Ebony’s trap? Hunter and Christina cross a line. The Palmers wait on tenterhooks for Ty to make a big decision.

Extended Summary

Colby looks at a map on his phone, smiling. Robbo comes in and Colby tells him that Bella’s got in touch and he’s meeting her at that address tomorrow. Robbo is cautious, asking if Colby’s got any proof and pointing out the coincidence of it happening at the same time Ebony’s missing. He adds that Ebony could have looked at Bella’s file when she was at the flat. Colby refuses to drop his enthusiasm so Robbo asks him to let him call Lance. A short time later, Robbo tells Colby that an e-mail address on Ebony’s burner phone was used to set up the Bella Steele social media account. Colby is disappointed. Robbo suggests sending the police to the address but Colby says if Ebony’s just watching it she could go to ground. Since he doesn’t have to meet her until ten, Robbo says they have until then to come up with something.

Hunter and Christina exit the gym after a session and make plans to meet the next day. Hunter suggests they have a bite to eat upstairs to discuss the placement. Christina says she has plans, then gets a text and says she’s free after all. At the Palmer house, Ty and Raffy critique each other’s food preparation in a friendly manner. John and Marilyn arrive back and the teens explain they’re making a vegetable casserole with a steak for John. The adults step out of earshot and Marilyn wonders if they have to tell Ty about his mum. John says they do, but agrees to wait until the morning.

Hunter and Christina are eating at Salt. Christina guesses that Hunter was a sporty type at school but Hunter notes he had a lot of dramas then. When she asks if he had a girlfriend, Hunter confirms he had one long-term but it ended a while back and there’s been no-one since, allowing him to focus on himself. Christina says her goodbyes. Next morning, Colby hurries to his vehicle. Jasmine appears and wonders where he’s going, since they were supposed to have a physio session. Colby somewhat abruptly says they’ll have to do it later and drives off.

Jasmine heads up to the flat and greets a bemused Robbo, asking him if anything’s wrong with Colby. She explains that he blew her off and drove away. Realising what’s going on, Robbo dashes for the phone. Colby is driving when he gets the call and puts it on speaker. He says he got tired of waiting around. Robbo notes that if he didn’t have the ankle monitor on he’d be after Colby. He explains to Jasmine that Ebony posed as Bella and sent Colby an address in Reefton Lakes. Colby pulls up outside the house. Robbo agrees not to call the police but tells Colby to stay on the line and starts recording the call. Colby puts a bluetooth earpiece in and gets out of the car.

John is making breakfast and offers Ty more pancakes. Ty and Raffy joke about fattening him up and wonder if something’s going on. John and Marilyn suggest that Raffy leaves but Ty says there’s no secrets. They explain Catherine said his mum wants to see him. Raffy suggests it’s a belated happy birthday but Ty says she’s missed the last ten. He asks if he has to see her. John and Marilyn say no and suggest he thinks about it. At the Diner, John and Marilyn worry that Ty’s mother will take him away but Alf suggests that’s her right. Justin comes in, ready to start repairing an outboard motor, and wonders if there’s a problem at the house. John again starts complaining about Ty’s mother abandoning him and messing him up. Alf cuts him short, saying it’s not his choice, and Justin agrees that it’s Ty’s. Hunter comes in in a good mood, which he puts down to the training.

Hunter joins Christina on the beach and produces two energy drinks. Christina says they’re not meant to use stimulants, but takes one anyway. She says she’s going to teach him an interval schedule and then resistance training, getting him to tell her how it helps prevent injuries. She awkwardly notes they’ll be swapping roles next week. Elsewhere on the beach, Raffy finds Ty and sits with him. She notes her mum abandoned her with her aunt and died before she even knew she existed, but she’d still give anything to see her. Ty says that’s not the same thing. He knew his mum and got on well with her, but when his dad died, she dumped him on his grandparents and he never saw her again: She said she’d come back and didn’t. He thinks this is too little too late.

Colby has explored the outside of the house and found nothing. Robbo and Jasmine try to get him to go back to the car but instead he goes inside. The interior is somewhat bare. He checks a few rooms and finds one that’s locked but his attention is drawn to the room that has Bella’s name on it. He goes inside and finds the walls covered with the Missing posters. Someone shuts the door behind him and locks it. Down on the beach, Hunter collapses onto the sand at the end of the session and hugs Christina’s legs, playfully begging her to stop. She pulls him to his feet and then kisses him. Looking shocked, she says she shouldn’t have done that and hurries off.

Raffy joins Justin on the pier. He says he heard about Ty’s mum and offers to help. Raffy feels bad about upsetting Ty and reflects on how it would be hard to have your mother abandon you and then turn up. Justin says he didn’t mean to leave Ava behind but didn’t have a choice. He thinks Ty’s mother getting in touch is a good thing. Raffy notes Ty doesn’t. Later, Raffy returns home and makes peace with Ty. John and Marilyn come in and Ty says he’s decided he doesn’t want to see his mother.

Colby tries to force open one of the room’s slatted windows while talking with Robbo and Jasmine. He notices a CCTV camera. Ebony is watching the image on a laptop in another room. She talks into a radio (the other one is in the room with Colby) asking Colby if he was expecting someone else and saying they’re going to play a game. Robbo and Jasmine hurry out of the flat. Robbo says he’s going to head out there and tells Jasmine to call the police and tell them no sirens. Jasmine points out his ankle monitor will go off when he leaves Summer Bay but Robbo says that’s fine since he wants the police there. Jasmine hurries back to the flat and updates Colby. Colby talks into the radio and suggests he and Ebony talk.
