Extended Summary

Colby and Jasmine continue to read the messages supposedly from Bella. Ebony claims the name Steele is so her dad doesn’t find out she’s online. Colby asks if her dad hurts her and Ebony replies that she doesn’t want to talk about it. Colby asks where she is but Ebony says her mum said not to give out her address. Colby is bothered by the idea that his mum is with Bella and hasn’t contacted him. Jasmine gives him some privacy. Down in the Diner, Roo is on the phone to Leah with Alf and Marilyn chiming in with questions. Tori comes in in time to hear that Ash is doing well.

Tori runs into Mason near the surf club and, when he asks what she’s doing later, snaps that she’s doing nothing as normal. Mason says he was asking because he needs help with an assignment but checks if she’s okay. Tori admits a part of her wishes Ash wasn’t having a good time because she does nothing but work. She thinks it’s time for change. Mason is distracted staring at a passing Jasmine but is paying enough attention to know what Tori just said and asks what she’s going to do. Back at the Diner, Ben has taken the phone to give Leah an update on Maggie, before passing it to Irene. He has left Maggie with Coco and Ziggy and asks Alf and Roo about Ryder and Coco being back together and if they’ve given Ryder “the talk”. Marilyn helpfully interjects that he means about sex. Ben says that after Ziggy, Coco got all the talks. Alf and Roo awkwardly agree to talk to Ryder.

Jasmine returns to the flat where “Bella” has just said her mother never mentions Colby. Jasmine still questions whether it is Bella and Colby asks her the name of the pink bear she had. Ebony looks through her notes without success. Colby suggests she ask their mum but Ebony says her dad’s coming and logs off. Colby is worried that something’s happened to her but Jasmine says she wouldn’t get in touch with him and then disappear. She convinces him to go for a walk with her, saying he’ll get an alert on his phone if there’s another message. They go for a walk on the beach with Jasmine pointing out that if the messages are genuine then Colby knows Bella’s alive. Colby decides he needs to go back and thanks Jasmine for everything.

At the Diner, Alf, Roo, Marilyn and John are sat together. John is bemused that Alf’s asking his advice on “the talk”. Alf says John usually has an opinion on things. John wonders if Quinn’s already spoken to Ryder but Marilyn points out they won’t know that without talking to him. Irene is bemused that they’re still talking about it. Alf suggests Roo talk to Ryder but Roo says as the man of the house he should talk to the boy. John says that’s outdated…but he agrees. Up in the flat, Colby sends a message to “Bella” asking if she’s okay. In her hideout, Ebony is printing out Missing posters of Bella and painting the letters of her name. She sees Colby’s message but decides to keep him hanging.

Jasmine runs into Olivia near the beach. She says she’s had a difficult time with Colby, but also that they spoke and accepted they both just want to be friends. Olivia is surprised and Jasmine quips that not all relationships go like Olivia and Hunter. Not too far away, Mason is somewhat bemused by Tori’s presence at a boxing class. She says she needs a hobby and doesn’t take too kindly to Mason pointing out she has yoga. Mason gives directives to the class as Tori wonders about mentoring med students. Mason points out that that’s making her job her hobby. He is again distracted seeing Jasmine with Olivia and doesn’t raise his pad to block an uppercut, resulting in Tori punching him in the face and knocking him down. Jasmine and Olivia hurry over. Mason is very embarrassed and insists he’s fine.

Tori patches Mason up in the gym. She comments that she thought Jasmine was with Colby. Mason says she isn’t, but doesn’t expect her to be interested in him when she wasn’t before. Tori encourages him to ask her out anyway. At the Diner, John claims to Alf that things didn’t go too badly for him talking to Jett. Roo suggests Alf did a good job with Maddy but Alf points out Roo got pregnant at sixteen. Tori comes in and tells Irene she’s buying cake to cheer herself up. Irene gets her the cake but also takes her for a walk. Marilyn gets a phone call from Catherine. She tells John she’ll take it outside.

Irene and Tori sit on a bench. Tori notes she expected to have kids and a man. Irene suggests she start dating again. Tori says everyone she falls in loves with leaves. Irene suggests she’s burnt out and needs a good night’s sleep. Meanwhile, John encourages Alf to practice talking to Ryder on Roo, which confuses Irene when she comes in. Alf can’t even get one sentence out and Irene says Ryder will have fallen asleep. Alf storms out, telling her to do it. Marilyn comes back in and tells John that Ty’s mother has contacted Catherine and wants to see him; since he’s sixteen, there’s nothing to stop her.

Mason turns up at the beach house in a smart shirt just as Olivia opens the door. He explains he wants to ask Jasmine out but Olivia cautions that she’s not in the right head space. Mason suggests it couldn’t hurt and Olivia asks if it hurt when she said no before. Jasmine appears and Mason says he just wanted to hang out. Jasmine is pleased and says he can watch a chick flick with them. Mason’s disappointed that that’s how she sees him. Meanwhile, Colby is out on the pier when he gets an alert of another message and rushes back to the flat. Ebony agrees to him coming and getting her if he doesn’t tell anyone. Colby asks when and where.
