Extended Summary

At the beach house, Olivia is on the phone to her client, hearing a list of changes to the dress. Jasmine has been hovering nearby throughout and Olivia notes she’s going to stop the client looking at wedding magazines. She tries to get Jasmine to try the dress on, saying she’s the same size as the bride. Jasmine hastily says she has a shift. At Salt, John and Marilyn reflect on the fact they knew when they got into fostering that the children might not be with them forever. They decide they’ll have to ask Ty what he wants without putting pressure on him, but decide to wait until tomorrow. Roo comes in with Raffy, Ryder and Ty, saying she promised them mocktails. Ty briefly sits with John and Marilyn and says it’s the best birthday ever.

At the Diner, Irene serves Jasmine a triple shot espresso and Jasmine advises her to steer clear of Olivia. Colby comes in and Jasmine asks him how things are going with Bella. Colby says the only replies he’s had have been memes. Jasmine takes his hand as she says it’ll work out, prompting Irene to give them a knowing look. Colby joins Robbo up in the flat. Robbo confirms that the phone contains nothing but a couple of photos but notes there are ways to retrieve old data. Colby gets an alert on his laptop but it’s just a good luck message. He reflects that if he still had his job, he could get the police to look at the phone. Robbo says he could call in a favour with the feds.

Ryder and Roo go downstairs at the surf club, with Ryder asking for ideas for his first date back with Coco. Roo thinks spending time with him will be enough but Ryder says women want romance. He asks Alf about an advance from the juice bar. Alf says he’d have to ask John but thinks he’s no chance. He says girls just like you to be creative, recalling using homemade fireworks. Roo quickly vetoes that. Next morning, Olivia is working hard with the sewing machine as a shattered-looking Jasmine emerges from her room. Olivia has more changes to deal with and again asks Jasmine to try on the dress. Jasmine repeatedly refuses…Cut to her wearing the dress. Irene tries to give her a cup of coffee but Olivia says to keep it away from the dress. Jasmine checks her phone and says she’s meeting Colby in an hour so that’s the deadline. Irene notes if she turned up dressed like that Colby would run a mile.

Colby is outside the surf club and gets a text from Jasmine arranging to meet. Robbo comes up behind him and Colby admits he’s worried about Ebony, saying she’s not rational and will go through anyone to get to him. Back at the beach house, Olivia asks Jasmine if the physio is just an excuse to get close to Colby. Jasmine denies it. Olivia points out Ebony’s gone now but Jasmine thinks the window is closed. Irene isn’t convinced, given what she saw yesterday. Jasmine insists they’re just mates, but doesn’t seem entirely sure.

Alf, Roo and Ryder are walking along the beach. Ryder notes that every idea he came up with needed more money than he had: Hot air balloon, horse and cart, skywriting. So he’s decided on a walk up to the headland where a picnic will be set up. Alf and Roo are impressed. Ryder says if they wait until late he can show her constellations, then wonders what her star sign is and whether it’s visible from the southern hemisphere and if maybe he should ask John for an advance after all. At the surf club, Raffy and Ty are playing pool when John and Marilyn appear and ask Ty to join them upstairs. Ty protests that they’ve just had breakfast and Raffy wonders why she isn’t invited but they insist. Ryder turns up after they’ve gone and notes he wanted to ask John something. Raffy is concerned about what’s going on.

Colby is waiting in the gym, repeatedly texting Jasmine wondering where she is. Jasmine turns up and apologises for being late, giving a garbled explanation about wedding dress hell. She says her phone was beeping the whole time she was hurrying there and is slightly disconcerted about Colby’s multiple texts. Up in Salt, John is telling Ty a rambling story about Spartan boys being sent out into the wilderness. Marilyn cuts him short, explaining they were wondering if Ty wanted to leave. Although she says they’re happy for him to stay, both extoll the advantages of heading out into the world and say they’d support him if he did that.

Raffy is waiting outside the surf club. Ryder tries to show her his plan for the date with Coco. Raffy doesn’t seem interested and Ryder suspects it’s because of her and Ty. Raffy says she’s pleased he and Coco are together but doesn’t need to know every detail of the date. Ty joins them and says John and Marilyn want him to move out. Raffy isn’t convinced but Ty says he isn’t staying where he’s not wanted. Raffy drags Ty to outside the Diner, where she’s had John and Marilyn meet them, and asks why they want rid of him. John and Marilyn say they want him to stay but Marilyn points out Ty said he was going to go. Ty says that they’re a family now. The four of them share a group hug.

Jasmine is helping Colby do stretches as he comments on Ebony. He goes to move away but nearly collapses, with Jasmine helping steady him. He wants to walk her home but Jasmine doesn’t think he’d manage it so he tells her to text when she gets there. Shortly after, Colby joins Robbo up in Salt. Robbo has spoken to Lance and assures Colby they can trust him, saying they should get the results off the phone in a couple of days.

Olivia is on the phone again about more alterations as Jasmine arrives home. She admits she actually likes having such a passionate client. Irene comes downstairs and Jasmine says that thanks to them she doesn’t know if Colby was interested in her or if it’s them putting ideas in her head. She decides she needs to talk to him and goes to the flat, making a fumbling speech about the moment being past and friend zone. Colby says he feels the same and was just worried about her with Ebony out there. He gets a message from “Bella Steele” asking if he lived at Lansdowne Road in Mangrove River, which he did. Colby replies asking if she’s his sister. In fact, it’s Ebony viewing the messages…
