Will Brody and Ziggy have their happily ever after? Mason gets lucky. Will Hunter and Olivia get back together?

Extended Summary

Hunter and Olivia are getting dressed after their liaison. They seem to agree that it was good/great but not what they were expecting and Olivia notes a photo of John was “watching” them. Hunter says he should go. Olivia looks disappointed, since she seemed to want to talk, but hurriedly leaves. Next morning, Alf has helped Justin set up Salt for the reception. Tori and Raffy bring flowers in. Raffy says she doesn’t need to talk about Ty and Tori understands, since she doesn’t want to talk about Ash. She sees Brody looking worse for wear and he notes he’s having flashbacks of Ziggy walking in on something he doesn’t need to tell Tori about and throwing up over Ben. Tori notes their parents would be proud of him. Brody says they’d also be proud of her and Justin for looking after him. She gives him an envelope: A week on a houseboat for him and Ziggy.

Ziggy surfaces, looking about as good as Brody, and admits she only got a few hours’ sleep. Maggie has sent Ben and Coco on an errand and tells Ziggy she needs to make a choice. Ziggy gets a text from Brody asking if she still wants to marry a hungover loser. Smiling, Ziggy tells Maggie they’re going to do it. At the Diner, Hunter has filled in Mason on what happened with Olivia, saying it felt wrong afterwards. He wonders if he should call her but Mason says that might not go down well with his date: Hunter had forgotten that Dempsey was bringing a friend, Rhea, for him and they’ve just arrived. Dempsey compliments Mason on his best man’s outfit. Olivia comes in and sees Hunter chatting with Rhea but he doesn’t see her.

Ben comes through into the living room for help with his tie, but is stopped short by the sight of Maggie, who is wearing the wig and her dress for the wedding. He describes it as “whoa”. He calls out to the girls: Maggie and Coco are going down first, with Ben and Ziggy following in the hot rod. Maggie seems momentarily faint but insists she’s never felt better. At Stewarts Point, people are gathering. Brody, Mason, Justin and Tori chat before Maggie, Coco and Raffy arrive. They encourage Mason to go and chat to Dempsey, although Justin and Tori note it makes them look like the family losers. Raffy tells them to take their seats. Olivia bumps into Hunter and asks to talk, but Rhea comes over and then Raffy, acting as usher, shows Olivia, Hunter, Rhea and Dempsey into a row together. Rhea introduces herself to Olivia. Brody checks his watch but Mason reassures him and Coco goes to keep a look-out.

Ben and Ziggy draw up nearby in the hot rod and Ben talks Ziggy out of taking it for another spin. Coco joins them. At the ceremony spot, Raffy shows Alf, John and Marilyn into a row near the front, then sits with Justin and Tori in the first row. Mason and Coco walk down the aisle, followed by Ben and Ziggy. Brody and Ziggy say their vows. Brody calls Ziggy his partner in crime and life and his soul mate and promises to love her more each day. Ziggy promises to love and respect him, laugh and cry with him, eat any food he makes and give him her hand, heart and soul. Mason provides the rings which they exchange and the celebrant pronounces them husband and wife. They kiss and lots of people crowd round to congratulate them, with Justin welcoming Ziggy to the family. Ben invites everyone to join them at Salt, but first the photographer takes photos of all the guests, then of the bride and groom with both families, then each side separately, then on their own.

As everyone gathers at Salt, Coco wonders if Maggie should be drinking during chemotherapy. There’s an awkward beat before Maggie tells her to keep it light. Justin introduces Brody and Ziggy and makes a speech. He says his family lost too many years and it took its toll, and also recalls Brody and Ziggy’s rocky start and Ben’s opposition to the relationship, before proposing a toast to happy ever after. Olivia glances back at Hunter during the speech but he’s chatting to Rhea and she ends up leaving. Hunter follows her down to the beach, indicating he wouldn’t have brought Rhea if he’d known the previous night was going to happen. Olivia asks if he remembers the spot where they are, saying he once loved her enough to want to marry her. She says the previous night brought up some feelings but they can’t go back. They suggest they needed it for closure. Hunter says he’s a better person for having been with her and Olivia reciprocates.

Back inside, Ben invites Ziggy to dance with him. Maggie comments to Coco on Ryder’s absence and she says he’s fallen out with Raffy and didn’t want to spoil things. Tori joins them and notes she’s glad to have Ziggy in the family to balance genders, with Maggie noting Ben thinks the same about Brody. Ben asks Maggie to dance, since Ziggy keeps stepping on his toes, but Maggie decides to dance with Ziggy instead, leaving Ben to dance with Coco. Maggie asks Ziggy if she has any regrets and Ziggy says she doesn’t. Dempsey is dancing with Rhea and some other young women. She sits down with Mason and thanks him for inviting her, saying his family seem normal. (He assures her they aren’t.) She asks when his best man duties finish, since she was hoping he’d take her home. He says about now and they leave. Brody joins Ziggy and they comment on how Maggie seems to have enjoyed the day.

Later, Ben and Maggie say goodbye to Brody and Ziggy outside: They are leaving in the hot rod. Ziggy thanks Maggie for her wise words earlier and Maggie thanks her for sharing the day with her. As the couple are driven off, it is clear Maggie is having trouble staying upright, leaning against a surf vehicle. Her nose starts bleeding and she collapses.
