Extended Summary

Brody and Ziggy arrive on the wharf and are amazed by the boat. At the same time, Ben calls out for help outside the surf club. Some of the guests emerge, including Tori who takes charge of looking after Maggie. Alf and Coco also appear. Brody and Ziggy find some champagne left by Tori and, after changing back into their normal clothes, set off in the boat.

Maggie is brought into hospital, with Tori giving the staff instructions while Ben and Coco follow on. Maggie starts to come round. Tori notices a bruise on her shoulder which neither Ben nor Maggie can explain. At the Diner, Alf, John and Marilyn reflect on the ending to the day. Irene appears, wondering if the reception’s over. They ask her about her trip and she says Mick’s in a cast and will be back at work soon. She asks about the wedding and everyone looks awkward.

Coco asks Maggie if she’s feeling better. Tori reappears and says they haven’t got the results back but there’s signs of an infection. Coco assumes the chemo has weakened Maggie’s immune system which results in an awkward silence. Coco wonders if they should tell Ziggy but Ben says to wait until they get the test results. On the deck of the boat, which is now moored in a lake, Brody and Ziggy jokingly call each other “Mrs Ziggy” and “Mr Brody”. Ziggy is worried that Maggie seemed tired but Brody says people are always tired at the end of a wedding and he’s heard some couples don’t even sleep together. Ziggy isn’t keen on that idea.

Alf excuses himself at the Diner. Irene checks Marilyn’s coming in in the morning, saying she will be as well if she’s not jet lagged, and also leaves. Marilyn worries that Raffy isn’t with them; John says it’s understandable she’d want to be with her family but Marilyn says she barely spoke to them at the wedding. They also worry about Ty, who has shut himself away in his room all week. At the hospital, Maggie is wheeled into a private room. Tori says she’s going home but the hospital will alert her if there’s any news. Ben wants to take Coco home and then come back but Coco isn’t keen on being on her own. Tori says Coco can come back with her, since Raffy’s going to be there. She takes Ben aside and checks Coco doesn’t know about Maggie stopping treatment. Ben rejoins Maggie, who notes Ziggy looked happy, while Ben tries to convince her she can beat this.

Next morning, Brody goes up on deck and jumps into the water for a dip. Ziggy wakes up below decks and wonders where he is. Brody returns and give her a brochure showing what they can do. Ziggy reads without enthusiasm of bird watching, bush walking and mountain climbing. Brody is keen on a nearby hike, where there’ll be no-one else around and they can make love under a waterfall. Ziggy suggests staying on the boat, heading back into the cabin. Brody says they’ll try her way first and follows. At the hospital, Tori returns and says she left Coco behind because she got the results through: Maggie’s cancer markers are back up. The bruises, fainting and nose bleed indicate a clotting problem so they’ll give her a blood and platelet infusion, while hopefully the antibiotics will clear the infection.

At the Palmer house, Marilyn notes Ty didn’t answer his door and John says he couldn’t hear her over the music. He thinks they should be supportive but not make a big deal about it, with Marilyn agreeing they shouldn’t say the wrong thing. They eventually decide they should leave him in his room until he’s ready to talk, although neither seem sure about it. At the hospital, Ben asks Maggie about going back on chemotherapy or having immunotherapy but Maggie says she can’t take anymore. She wonders what they’re going to say to Coco. Ben thinks they should tell her the truth.

At the Diner, Marilyn has filled Irene in on Ty. Irene feels sorry for Raffy but agrees to keep quiet and let Ty tell people himself. Marilyn adds that he isn’t talking to them at the moment. Irene goes to organise some flowers for Maggie, while Marilyn approaches Coco to ask about her. Coco doesn’t know: Ben is meant to be picking her up and taking her to the hospital. Ben appears and asks to talk to her outside. They head out onto the wharf where Ben tells her about the cancer markers being up. He explains the chemo wasn’t as effective as hoped: The doctors wanted Maggie to try a different sort but she was worried about being sick for the wedding so stopped treatment. Coco is upset no-one told her.

Tori visits Maggie in her room and says Callan is keen for her to start back on chemotherapy as soon as the infection’s cleared up. Maggie still doesn’t want to do it, saying she’s done everything asked of her and none of it’s worked, and if this is the end then she wants to deal with it. Tori insists they’re not there yet but Maggie remains unconvinced. Back on the wharf, Ben explains the plan was to convince Maggie to have treatment after the wedding. Coco is annoyed that Ziggy knew as well. She wants to call her but Ben doesn’t want to disturb her.

Marilyn arrives home and tells John that she thinks they need to talk to Ty instead of waiting for him to make the first move. John agrees with her: He has already been looking on the internet for advice on what to say and not to say when your child comes out. They decide to go over it and then talk to him. Back on the boat, Ziggy learns Brody still wants to go on the hike. She refuses again so Brody decides to go on his own. Ziggy goes below and notices the fuse box. She takes out the fuse for the engine ignition.

Ben and Coco show up back at the hospital. Coco is angry with Maggie for stopping treatment. Maggie says they all agreed; Ben doesn’t say anything at that, but also doesn’t say anything when Coco asks him to tell Maggie to go back on chemo. Coco decides to call Ziggy, heading out into the corridor. Maggie stops Ben going after her. On the boat, Brody finds he can’t start the engine. Unnoticed, Ziggy’s phone vibrates with Coco’s call. Ziggy produces the fuse and Brody chases her around the deck. Ziggy dangles it over the water and, when Brody tries to grab it, she drops it. Brody asks what they do now.
