Extended Summary

Brody and Ziggy are coming back from a swim. Brody races her to the towel but Ziggy makes no effort to beat him, although they’re soon getting cosy. Coco wanders towards them, looking at a text from Ryder saying “Want to hang today?”, and needs two attempts to attract their attention. She suggests making a lunch for Maggie and Brody happily agrees. Ziggy teases Coco about the text but she sends one back to Ryder saying “Sounds nice, maybe later.” Ryder receives it at the Diner while Alf chats to Leah about arrangements for Kat’s funeral; her family are driving down. Roo comes in looking for a USB with her plans for work on and tells Leah about Maggie being in hospital. Alf gets a phone call and says the church is confirmed. Ryder tries to get a lift to the city but Roo tells him to get onto his electives for school. Ryder protests that he and school don’t go together.

At the hospital, Tori outlines the procedure to Maggie, including the fact she’ll be under general anaesthetic. Ben asks how long the results will take and is shocked that it’ll be a week. Tori goes to check on the surgeon. Ben wants to call Ziggy but Maggie doesn’t want the girls stressed. Leah approaches Tori in the corridor, saying she was looking for Maggie. Tori says she’s about to have the procedure. Jasmine is brought through by Sarah. Tori tells Leah who she is and that they’re hoping to take her off sedation. She says no-one’s been to see Jasmine even though the police have left messages with her family. Leah decides to sit with her.

Brody and Ziggy come down the stairs from Salt; Brody is pleased to be able to raid it for ingredients now it’s his again. Coco follows them down carrying two pineapples and is embarassed when she sees Ryder, quickly making herself scarce. Ryder has arranged to meet Raffy and tells her he needs to get a job to avoid going to school. Raffy says he’d be with her and Coco but does recall Brody has just left the Diner. They go to see Marilyn, who says they were after a chef. Ryder tries to claim he has experience but a passing Alf says he burns water and wonders about him going back to school. Marilyn says they’ve no jobs at the moment.

Brody, Ziggy and Coco are working on preparing the lunch. Coco wonders what’s keeping Ben and Maggie. Ben gets a text and Maggie reiterates she doesn’t want the girls knowing. Ben calls Ziggy and tells her they’ve been held up and to put food aside for them. Coco seems curious about the conversation but Ben quickly hangs up. Tori enters and tells Maggie they’re ready for her.

Coco watches Brody and Ziggy flirting as he threatens to douse her with washing up bubbles. Coco gets a text from Ryder saying “Come hang out?” She wonders about Maggie but Ziggy is taking it at face value and tries to get Coco to reply to Ryder’s text, as he sends another one saying “Need you at the surf club ASAP”. Ziggy makes even more blatant attempts to get rid of Coco who eventually gives in. Brody and Ziggy kiss. At the surf club, Ryder and Raffy have unsuccessfully asked John for work at the juice bar and decide to check online. Coco joins them and they explain. She tells Ryder he’ll need to appear passionate not desperate. Ryder sees something among the jobs Raffy’s looking at and says he’ll be back in a bit.

Alf collects a hamper from Marilyn at the Diner. Roo comes in having finished her work and Alf asks her to help with the order of service. Tori also comes in but can’t answers questions about Ash’s whereabouts. At the hospital, Sarah asks Leah to give her a moment alone with Jasmine. Leah runs into Ben who tells her about the mass and biopsy and asks her not to tell the girls. Ben goes in to Maggie, who is coming round. Tori tells her she can be discharged once the anaesthetic wears off. Maggie still doesn’t want to tell the girls but Ben convinces her they’re stronger together.

Coco and Raffy are playing pool; Coco wonders if Ryder forgot to come back. Ryder enters in a colourful outfit and wig which has Coco giving a yelp of fright and hiding behind Raffy: She’s scared of clowns. Ryder explains he has an interview for a job as a children’s party entertainer. Alf comes in and has his own opinion on Ryder being Summer Bay’s newest clown. Coco gets a text and has to leave. Back at the farm house, Ziggy emerges from the bedroom and says she thought Brody was coming back. Brody says he remembered he has a job to get to and they say their goodbyes. Ziggy gets a call from Ben.

Soon after, Ziggy and Coco are with Ben and Maggie at the hospital. Ziggy echoes Ben’s disbelief at having to wait for a week. Maggie says she’ll be home soon. Coco wonders why they didn’t say before and Ben says they didn’t know anything. Everyone else rejects Coco’s idea of telling Diana. After the girls have gone to get snacks, Maggie expresses her fears to Ben. Meanwhile, Leah checks in on Tori and Sarah looking after Jasmine. Things seem to be going well; Jasmine is breathing on her own and squeezes Tori’s hand when asked. However, she then gets agitated and goes into respiratory distress.

Roo meets Marilyn outside the Diner and talks about getting approval from Kat’s family. Alf approaches and tells her about Ryder’s interview with Marilyn confirming he also asked for a job at the Diner. Roo says she’ll deal with it. Later, she is walking through the caravan park when Ryder approaches and mentions the interview. He is bemused that she is carrying a box full of orders of service for the funeral. Roo asks if he even notices what’s going on, saying she’s not pleased about him getting a job and education is a privilege. Ryder helps her with the box.

Jasmine has settled and Tori and Sarah remove the tube. However, as Jasmine comes round, she starts to panic, struggling to get away and demanding to know where she is. Leah looks on in horror as the staff restrain her.
