Melody’s plan goes wrong. Has Belle finally found the evidence she needs? Are Jai and Annie over already?
Extended Summary
With the Surf Club Halloween party looming, Melody vows that Geoff will be hers by the end of the night. After hearing what Nicole will be wearing, Melody arrives at the party wearing the exact same costume. Nicole’s furious, but Melody bides her time, and then, when the lights go out for a moment, she kisses Geoff.
When they come back on, he’s as surprised as Nicole. In the face of Nicole’s anger, Melody claims she cares about Geoff more than Nicole, and they’re meant to be together. Caught up in the moment, Nicole’s counter pierces straight to the heart. She’s slept with him. Geoff can’t deny it, and Melody is crushed.
Annie’s worried that Jai has been getting very close lately, wanting to kiss and hold hands all the time, and she’s not sure she likes it all the time. Ruby assures her it’s normal boy behaviour. Later, Jai comes to Ruby, wondering why Annie seems to shy away from physical affection, Ruby suggests he speaks to Annie. When the pair finally do bring it up, Annie tells him she just doesn’t like all the touchy feely stuff, not all the time, and she’ll understand if he wants to break up because of it. But he doesn’t. He’s okay with whatever she wants.
Out on stake out again with Murray, they hear some odd mechanical noises, and get out of the car to investigate. They find men in full on biohazard suits loading unmarked and partially corroded drums into a truck. Belle snaps off photos, and it seems they’ve finally found the proof they need to shut down the development.
Back in the car, she hands her camera to Murray for him to see her photos, and then gets a call from Angelo. He’s been doing some investigating, and he’s just found out the money deposited into Murray’s account came from a company linked to the developers, the story he gave Belle was a lie, he’s been in their pocket since he came back. Then Belle sees Tim and some security guards from the site coming their way.
When her car won’t start, she demands the camera back from Murray, he doesn’t give it to her, and afraid of getting hurt, she bolts into the bush. She’s chased, but she gets away, and manages to find Angelo. Together they rush back to the site, but when they get there the waste, the truck, all signs of removal are gone, and so is Murray.
Belle’s worried they’ve done something to Murray, and scared for her own safety, on top of it, she’s lost the photos, and her proof. Nevertheless, once home, she sends Angelo and his comfort away, instead running to Aden. But as they kiss, Angelo watches on unseen.
